“Great place to stay if you need to be close to the airport”
Reviewed August 11, 2014

The best thing about this motel is its location near (literally across the street) the airport. We arrived in Papeete late in the evening, and were able to simply walk across the street with our luggage and arrive at the motel. The rooms are functional, clean and air conditioned. Unfortunately, the elevator wasn't working. The motel is up a steep slope so not good for guests with accessibility issues. There was wifi, but none of us (we were a group of 9) were able to connect.

The bed only had sheets, and a decorative 'blanket', just a strip across the foot of the bed. We also encountered a couple of small insects (silverfish I think). On the plus side, there were three of us who shared a large room, and it actually had two bathrooms, one with two showers in it. The breakfast was included, and consisted of a selection of bread, croissant, juice and coffee.

OK, I have to admit that I read the reviews that said the beds just had sheets on them and "No blanket". I also read something about noise… But dang, We arrived at 9:45 at night and were leaving at 7:45 the next morning, we could easily walk from the airport, it was just my 16 year old son and I, we were traveling light, and with all of the money we were spending on the trip overall, I saw this as a place to be a little more prudent with the funds. Bad call. If I had it to do over again, I would consider how much money we were spending on the entire trip and realize what a good night's sleep is worth to not mess up any other part of the trip and I would have taxi'd to a nicer place to get a good night of sleep. It's true about the no blankets. I mean really…? So we tried to turn our AC unit warmer and it wouldn't. We tried to turn down the fan setting from high to lo but no go. Our only option was to turn it completely off. The roosters and dogs outside were relentless (since when do roosters make noise at night!?). I asked to borrow an electrical converter. I knew i was pushing it here but found out as I expected that they do not have them to loan to guests, they sell them. But oops, they were out. Oh well...

The sole reason to stay at this motel is its proximity to the airport. I don't have the time, nor the space here, to write about all the reasons not to stay. Here are some:
1) Horrifying beds with springs that gore you.
2) A breakfast hoboes would not like
3) A $20 taxi ride from the airport to go 500 feet. No kidding. 500 feet !
4) Nothing to eat nearby. NOTHING

When i booked it, i wasn't sure what to expect, as i knew hotels and everything is not cheap in French Polynesia, but as i was traveling on a clients budget, and was in my interest to keep costs down, i thought i'd take a chance.....and it turns out this place is not just a great deal ( especially for Tahiti), but was impeccably clean, in rooms and general areas. Also friendly, helpful staff, free breakfast, good AC in rooms, super clean and comfortable bedding, free wifi, hardwood floors in rooms, and no joke..... quite literally a two minute walk to the International Airport! How can you beat that. If you're staying here, don't jump in a taxi. When you exit the Airport, look directly ahead and you'll see the neon sign and the triangle roof of the hotel right ahead of you just up the hill. Walk across the parking lot, and there's a walkway to up the embankment, then cross the road. Dead easy. Also, some great local food trucks nearby for some local flavor if you're on the island for just a quick stopover. Book it, you will be happy.

We needed two hotel rooms when we arrived later than expected in Tahiti and the ferries to Moorea were no longer running. The price was reasonable for what we had. The rooms were pretty basic but the motel is close to the airport (and yes, you can walk there easily from the airport, not a lot of traffic on the road at night and it is well lit). The rooms were had were clean and we did use the free wifi. The breakfast was okay with fruit, juice, bread/croissants, cereal and coffee. The staff was very accommodating for us even though we had a bit of a language barrier. They did arrange a taxi to pick us up in the morning for the ferry but they didn't have all the ferry times correct. We did find an more convenient departure time than expected. No frills but if you need a quick overnight upon arrival or departure from the Papeete airport, it works.

Room Tip: The north side rooms have a nice sunrise view.

The only thing going for this place is it's location, free Wifi and included breakfast.
If you have an early morning connection it is a good option because it is just down the hill but you wouldn't want to spend any amount of time there.
The breakfast was simple but it was great they had this ready for us at 5:15am and it was good to have some coffee and something to nibble.
We caught a taxi both ways as we weren't up for the walk. They charged us 1200 to the hotel and 2000 to the airport!! So be ready for that.
We reserved a twin room which they didn't have. They blamed the booking agency and I'm still trying to get to the bottom of who the issue is.
It was really weird they had no blankets, just a sheet. Ours had blood on them. Gross.
After a week in paradise this was a low light but if you have an early morning connecting flight this seems to be the option unless you want to take a 10-15 minute drive into town.

Arrived on a late flight in Tahiti and needed an overnight stay before transferring to another island next morning. Booked a family room. Walked with luggage from terminal across airport parking lot - the motel cannot be missed. (Taxi would be 1100 CFP, or 1500 CFP during night / early morning). Room was very spacious, free WiFi worked perfect. Breakfast which was included next morning is basic, but good (orange juice, coffee, fresh bread french style, Bonne Maman marmelade!). Hotel staff friendly, also arranged taxi pick-up next morning. There is a vending machine for Coke etc. with fair prices - bring some CFP coins. Nice view next morning from balcony over airport & sea. Taxi to ferry terminal takes approx 10 minutes at the price of 2400 CFP (4 persons). Would always return for a similar overnight stay.
