This restaurant is expensive, over hyped and best avoided at all costs. If you want haute french cuisine then to be fair, perhaps its best enjoyed in France! Save your money and eat at the main restaurant.

If you're staying at the IC Moorea don't even dare to have dinner somewhere else in the hotel. Lotus has great food, great views and a good staff.

Food was like a dream. It was an experience. Gourmet yet artistic. It was an incredible experience. Short hours so eat there while you can. If there are few customers it will close early.

Have the fish of the day and the risotto. We ate this meal twice, loved it!

We had early reservations and with all the waterside tables available and they put us at a table in the corner next to a rock seawall and next to the table where the waiters got the menus. The restaurant saves space by seating couples at right angles to each other, so I had my back to entire restaurant, while my husband had a slim view of the water over the seawall. All I hear through the meal were the heavy clop clop footsteps of the waiters walking over the wood floors and the slamming of the heavy menus. I thought the choice tables must have been reserved, but an hour into our meal many were still vacant. The waiter gave us the multi page drink menu and when we took time to try to read it in the low light, he rushed us by handing us the huge heavy dinner menu saying that we should choose our meal to help select our drinks. With four big "tomes" on our table we really had trouble balancing them and trying to read them. The menu was really odd and it was hard to choose items from two appetizers, hot and/or cold and a main meal. For example, Kangaroo was one of the selections as well as sea scallops in lentil soup like mix. I chose a foie gras appetizer that was decidedly undercooked and very fatty. The waiter offered us bread but no butter. When we finally caught his eye he became huffy and pointed to two oil bottles on the table, saying they were ginger and vanilla flavored oils for dipping, but he would bring us butter if we wanted it. It would have been nice for him to have explained the oil option to us when he delivered the bread. After we got our appetizers we waited a full hour for the main course to be delivered. Both our meals were served in a soup bowl and were mediocre at best. We opted not to have desert, which did not seem to please the waiter. We got our check after another long wait. On the whole a C minus is a generous score for this restaurant.
