We spent a wonderful week last week at Villa Orangia (one of the three villas at Conte Marino). We booked very last minute as our original holiday was cancelled due to quarantine restrictions. Despina was so helpful from the moment we booked, in contact in WhatsApp to immediately check details and get the villa ready for us with 24 hours notice. She also put the pool heating on for us. The villa is in a great location - 20 minutes or so from Chania and 40 mins from the airport. It was end of season so we didn’t sample many of the local beach towns which were quiet but spent most of our evenings in Chania old town which was still bustling and very charming. The pool at the villa is lovely - around 15 metres and perfect for kids and also adults wanting to swim lengths. It Is set in a lovely garden surrounded by fruit trees and has a great outdoor patio with plenty of seating and sun loungers. The kids enjoyed picking the pomegranates in the garden. The villa itself is a wonderful design and very modern and well thought out with three ample sized bedrooms and two bathrooms. We were unfortunate to have three days of epic thunderstorms and rain but we still had a lovely time and made the most of the dry spells! Despina arranged a wonderful chef to come one evening to cook for us all. We also spent a couple of days at Fallasarno beach which is beautiful and around 40 minutes away. We also did a boat trip from Kissamos to Balos lagoon.
