“Overpromising presence in booking sites”
Reviewed May 27, 2014

We spent a long weekend in the hotel during May
We got there very excited and anxious to enjoy our staying while on demanding professional duty...this would be the only pleasant part of the trip!!!
The photos of the hotel on booking.com were highly overpromising: the shooting styling was more than professional, the rooms to be shot selection very good and the shooting angle created the perfect result. Thus, we were really disappointed when getting there. The room was not even close to what we had imagined when selecting it for our accommodation....
The most unpleasant surprise came when we decided to sleep till noon on Monday after an exhausting work-till-dawn Sunday. During the morning the noise was very annoying on the corridor and the stairs, so we felt like sleeping outside the elevator....
An extra implication on the day use charge of the last day, left us unhappy...
We although have to admit that the stuff was very kind, though not smiling at all...

I stayed in this hotel on April 2014. I was amazed by the hotel and the surrounding area. The hotel is newly refurbished and really no expense has been spared. The common areas are very warm and the rooms are great with to die for matresses. One of the best sleeps in my life really. The hotel is built traditionaly like the local towers. The view to the sea is amazing. If your budget allows, take one of the luxury rooms. It is really worth it!!!!
Breakfast was really nice with local dishes and ingredients. The service was really professional and welcoming throughout the stay. Mani is a great place to visit throughout the year. April was great to avoid the fuss. An extraodinary experience. Will surely go back again

Room Tip: choose a luxury room. they are great!!!

The Porto Vitilo hotel PV is approx17-18 years old and has been developed from 8 rooms to now 40 rooms. As you approach the entrance note the attention to detail in the stone floor.Passing the reception you enter a large longe with the breakfast buffet service, on your right, leading to a covered seatng area, then further acrosS grass lawns to the swiming pool and bar overlooking the sea.The designers and architects have spent the owners money to eclectic affect. Kostas showed us a couple of rooms and we settled on a mimi suite overlooking the pool and sea.The suite was very comfortable,no expense spared on French bedlinen, multi jet shower and tasteful furniture. The restaurant wasnt open as it wasthe end of the season but we ate at the Faros restaurant just arround the bay, you can see Peter's balcony from the PV.Yo can gather that we thought the hotel was FANTASTIC...........BUT;------ MUSIC TOO LOUD

My husband and I stayed here for 1 night, we were exhausted after a long drive from Athens and plenty of sight seeing along the way. When we first arrived they showed us a room on the 2nd floor at the back of the hotel facing the mountains with a small balcony which was fine. The room I didn't look anything like the pictures in bookings.com which also stated 85 Eu for a orthopedic mattress, LCD TV and Fridge. The mattress was hard and uncomfortable, my husband went and spoke to Management showing them the description of room with the confirmation papers we had. Management changed the room only because my husband had to be persistent. We ended up in a room with beautiful decor and a queen orthopedic mattress,. Why didn't they just give us this room from the start. Caution when eating at the only Tavern in the small town called "Faros Fish Tabevna" complete rip off cost us 30Eur for a small fish and salad, which was barley enough for 1 person, he ended up filling up on the bread. I would hesitate to stay here again only because of the unpleasant experience with hotel and Tavern.

Room Tip: Ask for a orthopedic mattress

lovely hotel inside and out. We had the grand suite which was lovely. Beautiful pool area slightly spoiled by the constant music playing but staff will switch off a speaker or two if you ask. Lovely breakfast and the food in the evening was also very good. Good staff and very good value

I have not slept in this hotel...barely. But I'd like to report my experience as a warning for other travellers and will let the editors decide whether to publish this review.
We were attracted by the road sign calling it a "boutique hotel" The price for a double room was €86,00
but they offered it at 75,00 being low season. Note the the normal prices in the area vary between 30 and 50 €.
I got into my bargaining mode and asked if they could make it 70,00 as we really were not going to use the swimming pool and other facilities. They agreed and they showed me 2 rooms both without a direct sea view. I chose one which had a little terrace, shared with another nearby room.
So I went to park the car and fetch my luggages when the young man came to tell me that, no, they wanted € 80,00 for the room, no less.
I obviously thanked him ( didn't tell him what to do with his room) and promptly found myself a much better at cheaper accommodation at nearby Selana hotel.
Please note that if they had stated their price right away I would have accepted it. It was them that offered a discount and accepted my offer.
A few notes.
A "boutique" hotel should at least have some English-speaking staff. The two young men could barely proffer some words, never mind understanding the language.
They voluntarily offered a discount, and then reneged: this is not at all professional.
The rooms, although well appointed, were really quite small and full of frills.
The place is near the sea but the only option for swimming is their pool because there is no beach but just rocks and with the kind of western winds they have it is not advisable to to try.
Fortunately we found a much better option at Selana: a room three times as large, with a fireplace ( not that we needed it, being September) and a huge terrace, right on the sea, all for ourselves. But I'm sure other places around the bay offer better and cheaper options.
Lesson: do not believe nice signs.

We spent eight days at the hotel during our summer holidays. It would be hard for me to find bad things to say about this hotel.
The room was perfect- we had a two level room- with the kids sleeping on the lower level and we stayed at the upper. It was beautifully furnished with all the amenities. We had clean towels every day not only for the room but for the beach-pool as well.
The breakfast was delicious and with a big variety.
The restaurant had nice food with very reasonable prices.
The pool area was very beautiful, although the pool was a bit small.
The staff was very welcoming trying to fulfill all our needs.
I highly recommend it!
