I could not think of a better place to stay in Geneva. So close to the Lake with an amazing view. I had a wedding in the hotel and even though there were over 350 people, the service was very good with a personal touch. The next day I had a urge to relaxe, and in the spa I found the relaxation I needed. It is almost too relaxed, with its outdoor pool and sauna.
Absolutely a very special hotel on a very special place in Geneva.

This is my favourite hotel!

Every trip to Switserland has to include La Reserve. The lobby is very nice before and after dinner, it's also the place we always meet before going out! Dinner and lunch are great at the Tse Fung restaurant downstairs with a terrace on the garden in summer! Great asian food and wines that are worth the price, it's not cheap but i have no trouble paying for quality!
Me and my friends have not found anything like it

Kind regards

Menso, a dutch entrepreneur.

I read the reviews and as much as I hate to admit it, I thought I was a saavy traveller that could handle a snobby hotel. Ok snobby and bad service don't even begin to describe what a disaster this place is from begining to end!!!
The decor is something to see, no doubt - but it all stops there.
First I called in advance to see if I could get a hair apt. The salon at the hotel was booked (for everything constantly including the beautiful spa, which is part of why you would pay to stay there in the first place, but more on that later). When I arrived the concierge said he had arranged for someone to come to the hotel...for 450!! That's just insane and he looked at me I like was crazy to question this price for a tint. Basic brown hair tint. So then he made me an apt at some salon who refused to try to understand my basic french. Rude rude rude. So after much stress, my husband came up with the idea to call the Four Seasons (where we should have stayed) and the concierge there was amazing and got me an apt with the perfect salon next door to them. (Who also spoke mainly french but was willing to try with me :)
The pool was out of service and continued to be the entire stay. Who does maintenance on a pool in summer?? We were NOT notified upon booking. The boat to geneva center is so romantic but again booked constantly so plan waaayyy ahead. Steam room was broken in womens locker room. Sand timer was broken in the sauna.
Service in the restaurant/lounge was almost funny it was so rude (except the joke was on us because we had to pay for it). It was sooooo bad and I have so many stories. The only reason we kept eating there is because it was that or traffic and parking to get to the center. One night I ended up with junk in the bottom of my wine glass and I was told it was normal. That they put something in the wine to keep it from going bad??? (that's new to me but let's just say that's how they do it) It does NOT belong in my mouth because the lighting was bad and it was red wine & I didn't see it. They didn't even say sorry for pouring it into my glass!
The old miserable men/waiters in the chinese rest were so mean to the cutest smilest asian waitress. It was hidious to see them treat her so bad. She was working so hard while they just walked around then they would yell at her. This was at lunch because even though we were staying there we couldn't get a reservation for dinner.
It was just story after story of ridiculas. They sent a bottle of champagne and a card (in french) to say sorry (I think) for the steam room being broken. So we let the rest go, but then they tried to over charge when we checked out. (By 100's) It was one of thoes don't get me started...just let it roll and let's get outta here kind of stays. Go for people watching in the lounge or book a treatment in the spa (check to make sure nothing is out of order first) But don't stay here and frankly skip Geneva all together if you can.
It's something to see at a distance if you happen to be taking a connecting flight (like us) or something brief that has brought you to Geneva, where fyi everyone still smokes everywhere. No place is off limits to smokers...

An ultra modern design hotel, which makes a huge visual impact, with a lobby full of large plastic birds and a life size elephant statue which reflect the attitude of the main clientele: dress to impress. So far, so good. Unfortunately somewhere along the line they forgot the basics which make for a disappointing stay. Small but imporant details like: the shower in the bathroom leaks all over the floor; there is no spyhole in the door; breakfast is very basic (a la Travellodge) but costs 45 Swiss Francs!

Very trendy and stylish but lacking some basic requirements.

We stayed in their standard rooms and the shower is so small with an overhead shower head that first you turn on the shower to get wet, then turn it off to soap and shampoo and then on again to rinse.

The wardrobe is tiny with 5 hangers so OK for weekend but forget it for a week as space for placing clothes is tiny.

The smoking in the bar and restuarants is substantial, so non-smokers beware.

Service is lacking; for wireless internet access (25 CHF/day) you need to call reception for a code which I did and receptionist said someone would call me back with it. 30 minutes later I called again and someone said it was waiting for me at reception.

We ordered tea in our room an hour ago and are still waiting.

The decor in the standard rooms is somewhat drab although looks a lot better in the premium rooms.

Thr grounds are nice, the use of the hotel boat into the city is a nice feature but overall we will be chosing another hotel for our next visit to Geneva.
