Ok here is an honest review, first impressions ok, room a bit dated but clean, rooms cleaned every day to a good standard, all staff great, very helpful and patient , breakfasts very good selection of fresh fruit, pastries, etc, the cooked bit a bit lacking, but overall for the money you pay good value, don't go for half board, the evening offerings a bit limited, although we were half board, decided to eat out after second eve. If your looking for a relaxing chilled place you couldn't go far wrong

the location of this hotel(3stars,) was absolutley great.its literally on the beach..with steps descending straight into the sea...it is 15 minutes from the airport, perfect for that ungodly 6.20am flight home..the rooms are fine, yes could be decorated more, but they are plenty big enough.with a separate entrance and bathroom.the beds are made every day,and clean towels given every day.for the price you pay its absolutley great.we paid under 250euro each for half board.my child was absolutley free(including food).the food is basic but fine.beware the milk is uht,no fresh milk(hard to get there any where).there is lots of choice for both breakfast and evening meals.meat is served pretty raw,but there is fish every night.all buffet,so you can choose whatever you like.drinks at night have to be paid for,and are are not as cheap as the bats are shops, but thats to be expected.the staff in the hotel were all very helpful, and friendly, all speaking a variety of languages(alot of germans, and russians staying there).there is a lovely sundeck room(ones on the beach have to be paid for.) the beach is nice, not too crowded unlike the larger resort, and is safe for small children.it is a windy resort but is still red hot.the kite surfers are there all day and night, lovely to watch.el medano itself is a very small resort,if you want excitement dont stay here-the hotels bar closes at 9-30pm!),but the other bars are open.its a lovely place for familes.there is a public bus to los christanos-6.20 for a return ticket, kids have to pay from 5 years of age,(or playa las americas),every hour, great if you want to go on a boat trip(the travelling lady in los christ..waxs 15euros,free kids 2 hours, saw pilot whales, was great..there is a resaurant directley opposite the hotel-los olivos, lovely food, starters 4euro,mains 5.50e,desserts 2.95.ate there 2 nights in a row(even though we were on half board..the wine is good too..so,to sum up.v cheap hotel, but v clean, friendly, and the location couldnt be any better(no air con, that my only gripe),ill definatley be back.!

Room Tip: you can pay extra and get a sea view room if want to,but it is pretty quiet at night anyhow(and satu...

A friendly budget place right on the beach near the airport Sur in Tenerife. You can just walk down to have a swim in the morning or a stroll on the beach. The staff is friendly, room was by accident"superior" so there was a big balcony. The walls were a bit thin but nevermind. There are plenty of friendly cafés on the beach when you get bored with the hotels food. The food was basic but there was great variety. And the paella was delicious! This is a typical place for older couples but also easy for a single traveller arriving on a late flight like I did.

This Hotel is one of the best we have stayed in!
Calm, quiet and goes all the way to help you in any circumstances.
We have had 14 nights here and the reception and room attendants and not forgetting the waiting and bar staff have been fantastic.
My husband was taken ill and our stay extended ,this hotel was my oasis.
Everything on the door step ,chemist, doctor and everything else you could need.
Just a reminder bring your health card just in case .
Check your insurance, cheap does not mean good.
Also try and use the public system,, and learn a little Spanish before you go.
My husband is vegetarian and the choice of food was excellent.
I indulge in a little meat and fish and this was good also.

Thank you to all the staff you are the best!

Room Tip: Worth paying for a sea view if you can, listen to the waves crashing at night!

First impression was 'oops - we've done poorly here', rooms small, bed squeaked, walls thin, can hear next door talking, no tea-making facilities, meals had limited choice. BUT food well done, staff were superb, friendly at all times and very willing to go the extra mile for you. After a few days had changed my mind and indeed, would go back there again. Do bear in mind that this is a three star hotel after all

Yes the hotel does need some improving, yes the rooms were basic, yes some rooms do overlook the street, yes the swimming pool is more like a puddle but it is a cheap hotel in one of the most spectacular places on the island surrounded by fantastic bars, cafes and clubs without being frequented by people intent on getting as drunk as possible, take the time to discover what Tenerife has to offer and appreciate what a fantastic place el Medano is and sample life Tenerifian style with the outdoor bars and the square that is a central point of entertainment at weekends and have a holiday that does what it should which is RELAX.

A basic hotel, looking a little tired. However apart from the receptionist who ignored us when we arrived- , the staff were friendly and hard working and it was clean and functional. Food was OK but if I ever return I would opt for room only and eat in some of the many places nearby. It is in a great location and I loved the sun decks. The pool wasn't very enticing but the sea was only a flight of steps away.

Room Tip: A sea view with balcony is a must. Other rooms look over a fairly noisy square.
