Certificate of Excellence

We stayed for 10 nights, the hotel was beautiful and all the staff were very friendly. The food was excellent. I would recommend this hotel for anyone who want's a quiet and relaxing holiday. Myself and my husband will be going back next year. Can't wait. We had a mountainside view and the room we had was excellent. The only thing I will say is the rooms have twin beds, as this is now an adults only hotel I would recommend that they change there beds to doubles or kingsize as it is mainly couples that use the hotel. Special word the Entertainments Manager Richard he does a brilliant job and he really made us laugh carry on the good work.

Don't believe the bad reviews! We stayed here for the first week in October and what a fantastic hotel. The room was extremely spacious and very clean, we had a mountain view but that was not a problem. The pool was also very clean and warm, I have always experienced freezing cold pools in the Canaries but this one was an exception. The spa looked nice but you have to pay extra to use it so we didn't bother. The guys at the pool bar were very friendly.
The restaurant was again very clean and the food well presented and freshly cooked, there was an excellent choice every day. The bar was ok and the outside terrace perfect for chilling after a day by the pool or on the beach. All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
We would definitely recommend a walk into El Medano town, the market on a Saturday is good fun and had some lovely stalls and was right next to the beach which is beautiful. We enjoyed swimming around in the surf and watching many kite surfers and windsurfers. The bars are all lovely and it is not at all touristy, the locals all use the beach and bars at the weekend and we really felt like we were in Tenerife rather than an English tourist resort. We did do the half day excursion up Mount Teide which was really interesting although the cable car was shut due to high winds.

All in all this was a real holiday away from it all. If you after a lively holiday then it probably isn't for you but if you really want to get away from it all this is ideal.

This hotel easily deserves 4 stars. We stayed AI and found excellent food and friendly service. The best outdoor pool we have experienced (warm and clean). The room was good, with an abundance of lights and power points. Our only criticism would be a lack of sunshades, made worse by the clientele ("towel reservists") whom emerge at first light. Yes you know who you are!!! So be warned and set your alarm if you need a sunshade. The entertainments manager "Richard" is an amiable chap who will not be to insistent if you do not want to be involved in the organized activities as we were not.

Room Tip: Junior suite

We have just returned from 2 weeks holiday at Arenas Del Mar Hotel. It has been very relaxing, we had a lovely sea view Junior suite on the 5th floor.
The hotel is clean, staff are excellent, really helpful reception staff, cleaners polite, bar staff nothing too much trouble, good choice of food , thanks to kitchen staff, Richard he is a darling he does an excellent job of entertainments organiser, not everyone wishes to join which is appreciated ,we did not find him over facing at all as some comments in other peoples reviews - carry on Richard bringing smiles to many faces.
15 minutes walk along the sea front and you are in El Medano with many bars and eating places, typical Spanish, not commercialised, hope it stops that way.
We would certainly book this hotel again.

Room Tip: We had a corner suite 5th floor, sunny, sea view, large balcony, excellent.

Went to this hotel for our honeymoon and it was perfect for us. The rooms were clean and spacious with lovey cleaners who alway change our towels and leave behind a fresh citrus smell. There is food all day more or less and with a wide variety, the only downside nothing was labelled but that never bothered me as I eat everything lol. They are well under staffed, you will see the same barman's doing most jobs around the hotel. The entertainer Richard is like marmite, he can be so annoying and then funny so I think a pinch of salt is needed with him. The people that come to this Hotel are there for a peaceful and relaxing stay so don't expect much night life. The spa's pleasant but not much to shout about and not really worth €18.

All in all the food and drink is nice, the staff are nice with good English, the hotel is spotless, and we loved every minute of our stay!!
Thanks Gary&Mandie

We've just got back from an a fantastic relaxing 11 night holiday at this hotel. If you need a chill out to just sunbathe and read then this is the place for you. The first few days the hotel was full to capacity (and there were a fair few moaning customers) maybe a few more staff would have been helpful but so what if you have a wait for a few minutes at the bar it is hardly a hardship. After the first few days the numbers dropped and there was no hassle getting sunbeds. The salt water pool was lovely and warm.

The food was lovely with something for everyone, though if you were looking for burger and chips you would probably have been disappointed but that is not what we were looking for. Some nights have a theme and the Spanish one was a particular favourite with paella and langoustines available on the buffet.

There is entertainment and it is up to you how involved you got with water polo, darts tournaments and aqua aerobics during the day along with walks to the nearby mountains and markets, in the evening generally some sort of singer or performer.

The nearby town of El Medano is definitely worth a look around with lots of surf type shops and lots of restaurants and bars, if you do fancy a change of scenery in the evening the restaurants are relatively inexpensive.

We also tried out the spa and that was also well worth a go.

We had a mountain-view room which was over the car park but to be honest this didn't detract from the beauty of the mountain as you had to lean over the balcony to watch the car park if you really wanted to! Plus we hadn't paid for a sea-view so therefore didn't expect one!!

I would return in a heartbeat!
