“A great alternative to noisy tourist locations”

Casa Cantito has a peaceful patio perfect for eating breakfast in the shadow of a palm tree and reading in the late afternoon. Also, if you leave the door of a sleeping room open at night, you will hear the sea. Pieter respects the privacy of guests but also is there to help with things like adjusting water temperature or finding nice day-trip sites.
You should rent a car to fully enjoy your stay - to do grocery shopping or reach the beaches. If you enjoy eating fish, there is a restaurant around a corner that serves fresh fish (cought the same day in the morning).
The rooms have quite low ceilings so if you are tall you should watch your head. I found the apartment very cozy thanks to its tasteful furnishing and plentiness of plants in the patio.

“Beautiful, peaceful location.”
Reviewed January 29, 2015 for a stay in January 2015

Pieter was a wonderful host, Casa Cantito is a cottage packed with character, the sea is only a matter of 20 yards from the door, we enjoyed the beautiful evening cliff walks and a glass or two of vino tinto with the locals in a bar at the top of the hill in San Juan de la Ramblas (so inexpensive!) We had a hire car which is essential at this location if you wish to see more of the area. The only downside for those that like to self cater Is the basic cooking facilities ie no oven, albeit a two ringed hob and a microwave are available. The open air courtyard is a very relaxing space to enjoy any time of day or evening.

“Great location and beautiful, traditional house.”

We really enjoyed our two week stay over Christmas in Casa Cantito. It is just as it looks in the photos - a traditional Canarian house with a lovely courtyard garden. The owner lives upstairs, but there are separate entrances.
The kitchen is well equipped with a hob, microwave and fridge.
The location is lovely - on the coast in a little fishing village with several restaurants and a shop. Easy to get to Teide, La Laguna, Oratava, Puerto de la Cruz and so on. Great walking from the door along the coast beside spectacular Atlantic breakers.

“Atmospheric apartment close to sea but away from the crowds”
Reviewed December 22, 2013 for a stay in December 2013

Nice small apartment close to the sea.No beach. On the north coast away from other tourists.Easy street parking with 4 restauarnts closeby (not always open evenings).
Apartment equipment was fine & wifi worked well (but not in living room). Lillies in vase on arrival. You may want to grocery shop before arriving (Puerto de la Cruz has a large supermarket-Alcampo).Our flight was 5 hours late & we arrived at 2.45am-Patrick stayed up to let us in-what a star!
Good location for touring all the north of the island & Teide ie the most beautiful part of Tenerife.
Some noise from: the road/cockerel/the floorboards above but not enough to put you off coming here.Las Aguas is a dead end so little passing traffic.Apartment gets the sun so warm enough without any heating in December.

“Lovely little house in great location”
Reviewed October 30, 2013 for a stay in October 2013

Very happy with this house. The accommodation whilst only being the ground floor is quite spacious for two people. The outdoor seating areas are very relaxing and we spent much time just reading and chilling in the garden. Sadly the swimming pool at Las Aguas has closed down and the beach there is usually too rough for swimming. There is a charco accessible from via steps the centre of San Juan. I would reccomend this property.

hello pieter,

we passed a great time in your casa cantito. we very much liked the cosy house and could easily prospect all of the island from here.
a peaceful place, clean, with more than enough comfort... a perfect place to stay, even for a much longer period than our ten days.
we hope many more people find their way to your wonderful location in the nice small village of san juan de la rambla.
many thanks for your hospitality.

beste regards,
bren & herm
