Owner description: The Jameos del Agua was the Centre of Art, Culture and Tourism to be created by César Manrique and reflects one of the cornerstones of his creative work: harmony between nature and artistic creation. The Jameos del Agua are located inside the volcanic tunnel created by the eruption of La Corona Volcano, one of the longest in the world, at 6 kilometres in length.

Another of Cesar Manrique's masterpieces, mixing nature and art. An underground lake with little white crabs, with a cafe in a cave over looking it. Great chillout music in the background, you can see why this area is open as a nightclub once a week. Moving on you reach the beautiful blue pool, on a stark white background with a solitary palm tree, with occasional boulders around the edge of it - as seen on so many Lanzarote postcards. People will come and go, if you are patient you will hopefully be able to get the "postcard" shot without any people in shot. Up the stairs overlooking the pool, more pretty views of the pool and another cafe. As others have said, a James Bond set is a pretty good description. I imagine 12 noon to 4pm are the busiest times of day. Price is reasonable but multi-attraction passes even better value.

Practicalities - Be prepared to get your feet wet as the crab pool sometimes overflows onto the walkway past it - and do make sure you have decent footwear for walking on the lava floors and stairs. Please keep a close eye on the kids and keep away from the edge of the pools...

what an amazing place! its like a James Bond set. The natural feel of the cave and poolnwas fab, and the rare little white crabs that live there were very unusual. Worth a visit when n the island.

We love this place and have been here each time we have visited Lanzarote. €9 per adult and €4.50 per child. You can get a joint ticket along with other sites around the island( eg jardin de cactus, cuevas de la verde, timanfaya, Fundacion Cesar Manrique). It's worth getting the ticket if you will visit all these during your time here. The atmosphere is so peaceful and people seem to respect that when they walk around. We love spending time looking at the crabs as they wander around the lagoon.
Be careful with small children as there is a walkway from one side of the lagoon area to the other. It's fine, just hold onto them as the floor is bumpy in places. Once you get the other side you can enjoy the pool surrounded by plants. Again, hold onto small children so they dont get too close. There are areas for snacks and drinks. There is a lot of information about volcanoes but our children were disappointed as the lights didn't work so they couldn't see things on the big pictures. Apart from this I would recommend it as another beautiful piece of architecture which sympathetically uses the natural landscape.

Stunning definitely worth a visit. Take time for drink overlooking the crab pool so tranquil and relaxing but understand from our guide can get very busy!

It's really beautiful inside and so calm you can see all the crabs right to the bottom of the pool. We didn't use the restaurant but the swimming pool looks really nice!
