Owner description: The Jameos del Agua was the Centre of Art, Culture and Tourism to be created by César Manrique and reflects one of the cornerstones of his creative work: harmony between nature and artistic creation. The Jameos del Agua are located inside the volcanic tunnel created by the eruption of La Corona Volcano, one of the longest in the world, at 6 kilometres in length.

A nice place to visit since you can see a lake inside of an unactive vulcanoe. Manrique design everything and the ambience is very peaceful with water, beautiful flowers, the rocks of teh vulcanoe and still there is a restaurant inside, only by booking in advance. the articial pool outside with the palms makes such a picture! A place you can't miss!

People on here say all sorts about this place and the truth is is that yes it is just a cave, yes it is 9 euros and yes it is an add on to the green caves just up the road. The reality is however is that the green caves are boring and uninspiring where as jameos is the one of the most tranquil places i have ever been to. Dont go here if you dont want spend money on a cave and are going to complain about nature. Do go here if you want one of the most amazing back drops to stunning pictures and an amazing relaxing atmosphere as you are driving around the north side of the island in the sun like i did with my girlfriend. 9 euros pp is not really cheap but I would have been more annoyed having not been there as it is so pretty on the eyes. As for the blind crabs, yes they do move but very slowly, you can sit at the waters edge at the far side of the lake to the entrance and take better pictures, They moved when i used the flash which is funny as for blind creatures.

Worth a visit in a stunning volcanic lava cave complete with it's own little lake with unique white, blind crabs although you have to look hard as they look like bird droppings!. Walk through the cave and enjoy food & drink in a superb cafet overlooking a very tempting swimming pool.

Busy, stunning, weird blind, white crabs but not my favourite of his works. Why can't anyone use the pool? (see other comments)
