“Wildlife Watching at Cano NegroReserve”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 10, 2012

This was a thrilling and a well worth boat ride through the tropical forest . This park is a fair distance from the capital san hose. So I went to Arenal and stayed there and took a local tour agents tour of Cano Negro. The trip took about 2~3 hrs

The boat was very safe and had life jackets. At the jetty itself I observed a wild sloth on a nearby tree and also while going to the park I observed a sloth. Several iguanas and different species of monkeys including the white faced capuchin monkey were observed. Also several caimans, bird species and bats were observed.

“River safari”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 25, 2012

We loved our tour on the river. Granted, the guide said we were lucky in that we saw a lot of wildlife. Also, since we went in September (best kept secret in costa rica), we were only with 4 other people on the boat. This meant we were free to move around, get up and down, and find the perfect vantage point for every photo. We watched families of howler monkeys play in the trees. They even had an albino baby, which was bright orange. We saw spider monkeys and capuchins too! They all had lots of babies ( apparently September is a great time of year to see the babies). We were able to follow them along the river as they played and moved through the trees. The caymans, birds, and lizards were great too. It was a bit of a drive from la fortuna, but since we had done so many other action adventure tours, this was an appreciated break.

“Great trip, good guides”

Lots of wildlife to spot out there. The captain-guide was very able to spot big and tiny game. The lunch offered is more ceremonial than a real lunch. But bottom line a great way to spend your day!

“Cano Negro”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 15, 2012

My family took the trip to Cano Negro with Costa Rica anywhere. The tour guide was awesome. He has provided us with a lot of interesting facts about this area. The felling was like we were a part of a wonderful National Geographic tour.
Despite its murky waters, this canyon (just a short ride from Los Chiles) is a must see because of huge variety of different creatures. We saw there all four types of monkeys that are native to Central America.

“Great trip”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 17, 2012

Great organised trip.
Comfortable boat, saw lots of wildlife, boat captain was amazing at spotting things. Was probably about the right length. Finished off with a simple meal which was ok. Definitely worth going for the variety of birds and animals
