We stayed with Maureen and John for 2 nights. Our flight to france was cancelled whilst we were waiting to board due to French Air traffic Control strikes. We had to fly to Spain and make a 2hr car journey, getting us to St George at around midnight. No problem said Maureen. Having boarded the plane to Spain the pilot told us we had to wait on the tarmac for a further 90 minutes!! When we got to Spain and I rang John again he said 'no problem..we'll see you when you get here'. We arrived very tired at 1am to find John patiently waiting with sandwiches ready and the offer of a beer!! You can't ask for more!
The house is lovely, surrounded by vines and Limoux is a hort drive. The rooms are also lovely with true attention to detail. Maureen and John are great hosts and full of local information. The breakfasts were excellent with lots of homebaking going on. I am only sorry we didn't manage to try the Lemon Drizzle cake! Our friends birthday was on our last day at St Geoge and a bottle of wine was given as a gift as well as a french birthday banner decorating the wall.
A lovely visit at a lovely B&B with lovely hosts.More
