Great pizza from a great guy who is a local institution. Inventive pizza menu. Sit and chat and enjoy the pizza piping hot from the oven, do take-out, or bring home a stack of pizzas for an instant party.

We had three pizzas from Jean Mi and they were all very good. Not so much as a restaurant, more a take away with a table to sit at.

I have traveled extensively in Italy and got some really great pizza. But Jean Mi's pizza is best pizza I ever had. The pizza is cooked in a Franch style which make them really tasty. Go for his own pizza "Jean Mi".

We came to Limoux to observe how they celebrate Mardi Gras here (they actually celebrates the world’s longest carnival, since it runs from around 30 January to 10 April every year!). While searching for lunch, we came up to Pizza Jean Mi, and it was a nice surprise for us to find great foods, and great company from the owner/chef Jean here. I had a Smoked Salmon Wrap, and my husband had a Chicken Panini, since we were under the impression of Pizza should be from Italy or the States (where Italian descendants make it an American household item), but then we WERE SO WRONG! Back to the foods we ordered, the Salmon wrap was delicious with fresh ingredients like tomatoes and lettuce. My husband's Chicken Panini was great with grilled chicken and fromage. While waiting for our foods, we saw how the Chef prepared his pizza orders for other customers, and we were impressed with how clean, precise, and Zen-like his whole process was. He speaks some English, and we communicated with each other through some hand signals, and it was good fun. What shocked me the most was when I told him that I am Vietnamese-American, he said that he had learned Vietnamese cuisine with some Viet lady, and said the name of dishes he learned in Vietnamese! Who should have thought that in the middle of Limoux (the most French as it is compare to Paris, Nice, Avignon...) this French Chef talked about Vietnamese foods. I was so delight to meet this wonderful man along my travel path.

He then asked my husband to put on the chef hat, and showed him how to prepared a pizza, then that pizza was his gift to us! That was an exhilarating experience for my husband. After being full from lunch, we were still so tempting to eat the pizza while carrying it back from Limoux to Carcassonne. The aroma of fresh dough and fresh cheese were amaziing, and we ended up having Jean's pizza for dinner. This pizza is the first French pizza that we ever had, and it was so delicious. The tomato sauce was fresh, the cheese was amazing, and the dough was soft , but still crunchy at the edge. Olives, sausages, and pepperoni were also fresh and tasty. It surely was not like Italian pizza (we had some good pizza in Florence and Rome), and was not like American's, but it was still a great pizza pie! I now list Pizza as one of the thing that I will have while traveling to France, and hopefully, it will be great as Pizza Jean-Mi's, and the chefs will be as wonderful as Jean is.
