We are a family of 4 (one 4 year old and 9 month old baby) and this was our first trip to CP Holland. We arrived at 2.30pm and were able to drive straight to our villa. We had a 3 bed VIP in area 9 which was a 5-10 min walk to both main centres (swimming and sports). Villas are well equipped and spotlessly clean though there is no oven/grill - worth noting if you plan on being self catering. There was a welcome box provided but we weren't greatly organised so I would advise booking your activities as soon as you arrive if not before. Your free toppings are handy for a bowling or bikes (2 toppings for an hour bowling or one bike). Both bowling and bikes were fully booked up so try to book in advance or you have less choice. Restaurants were easy to book on the day though the Grill is very popular as it has a children's night on Wednesdays. The park is not as big as the UK ones and very easy to cycle around as it's flat! The ski centre looked excellent though lessons are done by age group so children and adults aren't together. All the staff speak really excellent English and coulDn't be more helpful. The supermarket is well stocked though you may want a Dutch translation tool for the meats.
Lovely park and so much cheaper than the UK during half-term!

Stayed in the premier chalets for the first time after returning for our third stay at Kempervennen and couldn't have been more impressed. The jacuzzi bath was great. Clean kitchen and bedrooms. Sauna was lush. Fresh bread and croissants at the door every morning. All for a very reasonable price. Multi-lingual staff were all happy and attentive, the centre itself is beautiful. Our party of 16 will be returning next year and the year after and the year after...

We visited De Kempervennen for the last week of the UK summer holidays with 3 children aged 3, 6 and 8. We have previously stayed at Het Meerdal and De Vossemeren.
We booked online but called the call centre a couple of times and found the staff really helpful and informative with good knowledge of the park and excellent English.
We booked more than 6 months in advance so received the 20% discount and 5 toppings. One topping has to be used to choose your location and we asked to be well away from the centre and got a lovely villa on the quieter lake and tucked away in a really peaceful location. We had been very close to the centre at De Vossemeren and found it slightly noisy and hardly worth getting our bikes out.
The other toppings can't be used until you get to the park BUT you can reserve activities online and then pay on arrival using your toppings. We didn't realise this and found that some activities were already booked up. This was never our experience at the other CenterParcs so I would recommend booking anything you really want to do ahead.
Our villa was a 6 person Original Premium and it was clean, well equipped and well laid out. Instead of one big car park, the parking is split between three car parks so you are never too far away from the car and in fact we were close enough to be able to pack up the night before we left without having to bring the car any closer to the villa, leaving us valuable time for a swim on the morning we left.
We did lots of activities and enjoyed them all. Skiing was well organised and the instructors were great with the kids. Ten pin bowling has a pirate theme, Wannabe kids activities were fun, there were baby animals at the kids farm, there was plenty to keep everyone entertained.
We ate at The Grill restaurant and the Grand Cafe and they were fine, not amazing but we didn't have any complaints. We ordered a Grill Package to be delivered to our villa the first night. It didn't arrive but this was resolved very quickly with a call to reception. There was enough food to keep us going for at least three days! The supermarket is well stocked but we took our non-perishables with us and just shopped for bread, pastries etc. There was plenty of insect repellant on sale but no mossie killer spray - we would have slept much better if we could have had a quick squirt round at bed time and will take our own next time. With so much water and so many trees, mossies are unavoidable.
The aqua mundo was lovely - I think De Vossemeren's is slightly better but we loved the rapids and the Coral Bay here.
Every member of staff we came into contact with was friendly, helpful and spoke really good English.
Overall it was an extremely enjoyable family holiday with something for everyone and I would recommend De Kempervennen without hesitation.

Room Tip: Villas 842-850 are tucked away in a lovely peaceful location and near their car park.

We live in Ireland and love the Center Parcs experience, having visited Longleat a few times. We have been to De Kempervennen twice. We flew from Dublin with Ryanair and stayed for a week in a 6 person basic cottage. This was still cheaper than the ferry to England and the price of Longleat. The first time we came, we hired a car at Eindhoven Airport, which we barely used. So this time we took a taxi from the airport, which at €80 for 6 people, I felt was expensive. I would think if I had researched this better in advance I could have got it cheaper, as we had been told by other Irish people in the park that they paid €50. Anyway on to the park, it is great. The same feeling of freedom and connection with the outdoors that you get in Longleat. And the best part about it for cycling is that it is COMPLETELY FLAT. The Aqua Mundo is great, although as previous reviewers have said, it looks a little tired. The water rapids are brilliant, but for some reason it has 2 single person slides on them where you go through a tunnel, which leads to a build up of people on it. The water rapids (always our favourite part of CP) is not as good as Longleat. The playground is good, but there are not enough of them. The farm is a gem, with the goats regulary jumping out onto the road. The houses are ok, but beware of the gas hobs, maybe we just werent used to them, but spilled the contents of 2 saucepans. The beds are very uncomfortable. But on the whole, we were happy with the accommodation. Valkenswaard is a beautiful town, and is only about a 15 minute cycle away, on a mainly safe cycle lane. The supermarket on site, is a bit expensive so we went to the Albert Hejhn supermarket there. We also visited Eftelling Theme Park, this was a good day out but arrive early as the queues are long and it closed at 6. Although not comparable to Disney, so lower your expectations and you wont be disappointed. I would recommend De Kempervennen Center Parcs as a great family holiday

We booked this centre parcs for our first experience with them, we went on reviews and somewhere different from the UK which was turning out to be very very expensive!
£1200 for a weekend in Longleat or 499Euros for a midweek at De Kempervennen for a family of 5.
We were not disapointed! I did add on skiing which bumped it up but although i was horrendous at it my 5, 9 and 11 year all learnt the basics and my husband after some apprehension before we started is asking to ski again.
The instructors are very funny and helpful and really try to put you at ease.
We booked our 6 person basic cottage away from everything and Im glad we did as we would not of cycled half as much as we did...at this it was only 10 mins to the centre with a 5 year old on her bike!
We were in cottage 843 so had the lake and ducks at the end of our garden which were peaceful to feed to feed of a morning.
We booked our younger girls into wannabe pirate and farmers which was the first time we had ever put them into a club on hoilday so that is saying something but they were so well run and fun we couldnt not. For only 5 euros our youngest dressed up as a pirate, learnt dutch songs, drove a boat(with life jacket etc on) in the lakes, went to the island to receive her treasure and was allowed to keep most of her pirate bits...this lasted for 2 hours and she was really happy with it.
The farm is lovely and not just animals plonked there! children can feed and pet them etc and it is right by the beach and playground so other children that dont like animals can play well in sight...multi tasking!
My girls loved the games room and the bowling alley next to it is as a pirate ship which again was so cheap and you can play as many games in an hour!
We prebooked the dinners as it worked out cheap per head, we were prepared for it to be basic at it was buffet....we were sooo wrong! the starters, salads, mains and puddings were amazing. the chefs are there constantly cooking up new fresh food, it changes every night with italian, asian, carvery, greek, vegetarian, fishes, pittas, stir fries, curries, soups and so much more!
The staff are really friendly with nice touches of slides and animals next to the info desk so little ones can be entertained whilst you ask questions at the desk.
The setting was beautiful with lakes and trees, beaches, islands and very very clean everywhere.
It was very easy to please all children with different activities which were all in easy reach and with all 5 of us at different swimming levels the aqua mundo was very geared up for this but again all next to each other, the changing rooms were really clean which is a bonus at any pool.
All in all perfect and it only took us 2hrs 45 mins from calais so although you cant book in until 3 and have to leave by 10am you can use all the facilities for those days.
The town outside of centre parcs is a short cycle ride on a very safe cycle track to the left and has a market and huge shopping area with cafes and restaurants etc

we stayed a week (2 adults 2 children 9 and 6 yrs old) and as a first visit to Center Parcs were very impressed. much better value in Holland than the UK parcs, and the whole set up meant we really enjoyed our holiday and felt we had plenty to do every day. the weather was good and so we were able to enjoy cycling and swimming in the lake - with the option of the indoor aqua dome when we wanted. the food was OK - buffet was what you would expect and the Pizza/Pasta restuarant was basic - The Grill was much better albeit a bit more expensive - but vouchers before the trip saved a few quid. The supermarket on site provided everything we need for lunch/breakfasts and felt like it wasn't overcharging. staff were friendly and we had no language problems at all.
plenty on offer for the kids, and more to offer as they get older too.
Yes - there were issues with the odd mosquito - but this is the same pretty much most places so not really something to fault center parcs about (although they could get some fly traps for the restaurants I guess).
The only gripe would be about the soft mattresses - we had a 6 person original premium villa which hasn't been made over yet. It was better than I expected but the beds were very soft.
We are planning to go back to Center Parcs in Europe somewhere again and I recommend the place.

Room Tip: look for late deals on larger villas to get a bit more space - and upgrade if you can to get better...

2 Adults and 3 Children (3, 9 and 12).

We loved it here, facilities were clean and everything was easy to book.

The environment was lovely and had a mix for all the kids. We stayed in accomodation which was premium for 8 people having booked last minute. It was ample in size and everything was good.

The kids loved the swimming pool and we all loved the water rides, imparticular the one thats like a rafting course! Everyone was really laid back and just let you get on with it - the camp had a safe feel.

We had kids eat free vouchers and ate at the buffet every night, there was always alot of options and food was generally ok even though drinks were expensive.

Our only downside was the amount of mosquito's, I think they set up camp by our front door and we had to invest heavily in citrus sprays to keep them at bay. Not much the camp can do but something to be aware of.

All in all would come back again. I didn't even mind the drive from the UK.

Room Tip: Bring mossie repellent!
