Lovely hotel with a nice view to the beach. Beautiful premises, large room (stayed in the standard suite) and private balcony. Mylopotas itself is quite small and not lots of going on; the beach is nice and clean and Hora is only few kilometers away if more action is required. Liked it a lot!

Myself and friends came here to visit a friend to celebrate his birthday in may 2011. This was our first time in Ios and we were absolutely blown away at how picturesque the island is.. i loved it so much that i came back again in june!
On arrival we were all extremely impressed by the stunning hotel which over looks the beautiful Mylopotas beach.
The reception staff all greeted us with a very warm welcome and all were so helpful with everything we needed, talking us through the facilities of the hotel and explaining where to visit on the island.
Delicious Breakfast, beautifully prepared and organised, and once again the staff are all on hand and fantastic, nothing was too much trouble.
Lovely rooms with en-suites, fully air conditioned and comfortable beds.
2 outdoor swimming pools one on the ground floor and one on the roof,
There is also a gym, sauna and steam room and a lovely relaxing spa offering a full range of beauty treatments.
I really cannot speak more highly of the palace, this was by far one of the best hotels i have stayed in on my travels and on one of the prettiest greek islands.
I will most certainly be back!!
Ios island is well worth a visit, and the Ios palace hotel will definitely look after you while you are there, you will not be disappointed!

Outstanding hotel in a great location!!!!!!!The grounds are well kept, the pool areas are gorgeous, excellent spa area and the beach is absolutely amazing. Lovely restaurant and the breakfast buffet was wonderful - huge selection of foods.
The room was very nice-beuatiful interior design. We had a large terrace with a view of the ocean. The bathroom was large.
The staff was courteous, helpful with all requests, and very friendly.
The hotel is outside of the main town so renting a car to get around is a definite must as it will allow you more flexibility, privacy, and comfort. .
Having said all this i would not hesitate returning to this hotel and I would recommend it to friends.

What makes this hotel is the staff. I've never stayed in a hotel with such friendly staff. They all speak to you and get to know you. It's like your staying with friends which is great as the hotel certainly falls downs in other areas

Location is great right on the beach and the hotel pool and bar has fantastic views over the beach

Ok so why isn't it a 4 star hotel? It's the age and facilities in your room. Once again do not believe hotel websites for the room pictures they take the best room and put this on the web. The hotel is described as a minimalists hotel rooms however really it should be called a basic room.  Minimalist hotel rooms have designer selected furniture to create the feel of the room however at this hotel they have got it confused and it's basic just because it has some colored glass in the room does not make it minimalist or designer.  We had a suite which comprised of a separate sunken sitting area with two single bed mattresses against the wall the mattress had a bedspread wrapped around the mattress. There was  no cushions on top of the bed so you leaned against the wall. If this was to be a sofa it defiantly wasn't.  The  same room had a very old cupboard that looked if the sliding door with colored glass panel was about to fall off the safe had the master key to use as the batteries and key pad were broken.  The mini bar was an old fridge with limited supplies.  The main bedroom bed was hard like sleeping on concrete slab.  We actually put the Donna under the sheet to make the bed softer.

The bathroom was the worst the shower was a bathtub with shower nothing unusual about that however the shower  head was a hand hold with no where to hang on the wall so you had to hold on to it and shower, plus tge water pressure was so bad the water drizzled out not 4 stars.  Due to the shower situation and the no shower curtain the bathroom floor was always wet not uncommon in Greece!  There was no soap or hair conditioner in the bathroom.  The bathroom had a small window which you had to open as there was a bad smell in their however other people could watch you shower.

On our last day we moved to a standard room as our "suite" had new guests arriving.  The standard room was small but better equipped than the "suite"   The shower was a real shower hanging from a wall!! They had a selection of shower gels and conditioner plus soap so why does a cheaper room have amenities the suite didn't??? Love to know why!!!

On a positive note the gym and spa were great. Had an excellent massage at the spa , tge spa room was well designed and awesome views over the beach The changing area were beautiful and had a rain shower with water pressure and again better amenities than our "suite" I wanted to move into the spa and shower there every day

Our favorite place to hang out was by the pool the bar staff there were exceptional especially Athena.  Terry and Dina were also great and another lady at reception

Once again the staff are what makes this hotel without them it would be like staying at faulty towers

Room Tip: Go to naming for lunch good Mexican food

I stayed here with a large group of friends for two weeks and they were the best days of my life. The poolside is definitely the place to be around 4-6pm because they bring in the DJ's from the popular places in the main village nearby. While there were few guests other than those from our group when we went (as this was during off-peak season), I think it would also be a good place for smaller groups / families to go. The hotel is a short walk (10 mins) from the bars/clubs but still quiet for those who prefer a tranquile atmosphere. It's right on the main beach too where you can scuba dive, wakeboard, banana boat, etc. The food was great and service was very quick (I recommend the Napoli pasta for lunch). Just watch out for mosquitos because a lot of the hotel is outdoors. I also want to mention that the hotel was really considerate towards us and even organised a fireworks display for our last night!

Room Tip: Upper floors have easy access to spa / second pool

Went to Ios Palace in a group of 97, large class trip. The hotel made every effort to accommodate us and made sure that every detail from the food menus, to the times, to the poolside bar at night were to our liking. They are very flexing and also very knowledgable about the island of Ios and were great at recommending spots depending on your preferences and has the important inside scoops.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms nearer the bottom of the hotel

Yes I would agree with others, the views are amazing, the pool and bar area is good, however I would not rate this more than a 3 star accommodation at the most - some of the problems encountered during our stay:
- air conditioner not working correctly
- only hot/warm water came out of cold taps
- no plug in basin
- fridge was not cold
- had to email hotel several times to confirm transfers to/from port
- water all over bathroom floor when we arrived
- no lighting outside entry to room
- luggage rack broken/damaged
- no room safe
- no shower curtain / door
- had to wait for 1/2 hour for terrible coffee at breakfast
- broken chair on balcony
Had we known that this was the best accommodation the island had to offer we wouldn't have bothered going there. Too far to walk to town / bars / restaurants at so if you are planning on partying choose somewhere in town.

Room Tip: Check everything works when shown to room!
