Paradise Resort Santorini
Ranked #12 of 12 Hotels in Akrotiri
Reviewed November 26, 2012

We stayed in Paradise Hotel two years before finding it accidentally. But what an amazing find! George the manager was overjoyed when I emailed him to tell him that we were coming back to Santorini.

Big and clean room, nice clean bathroom with a shower. The room was close to the pool and surrounded from the garden.

The hotel is so close to Ancient town of Akrotiri, the red and the white beach.

George was helpful and chatty and would do anything to help, he arrange for as a car and boat excursions. A nice personal touch that you do not get in many hotels.

We were very sad to leave but for sure we will go again the next year!

On a positive note this hotel looks very pleasant and has a good pool. Located about 20 minutes drive to Fira with a bus service nearby. Breakfast was a joke...poor coffee, mueseli that was just oats anda few corn flakes(no fruit or nuts, seeds) and orange cordial. Rooms were pleasant but staff undecidedly not so. The room towels are like prison issue as they were so rough. When we asked for pool towels and took them to our room we were individually excused of taking them to the beach and reprimanded. When I asked why taking them to the beach was such an issue anyway they said because you get oil on them? We were promised one way free pick up/drop off to airport. They booked us a cab but did not give the cab driver a voucher. We rang them from the airport and they would not pay up. Never again when there are so many great places to stay.

Room Tip: Stay elsewhere.

Closed this little hotel down as the last guests before the off season shut down -- but the condition of the hotel, pool and rooms didn't have any signs of 'end of season tiredness'. Everything was spotless and fresh. Our room was not 'luxurious' but met all the requirements for a wonderfully relaxing base for the week. The staff were all friendly and polite. The hotel is well situated out of the main tourist areas - but a short walk to the 'Red Beach' and the prehistoric Akrotiri site. Some immediately local tavernas and some great Red Beach sea-shore sea food reaturants were amongst the best and most reasonably priced eating on the island. And do rent a quad bike from the very friendly rental company next to the hotel. This is one of the best ways to get around and further off the beaten track. Only complaint is that eating out was very expensive -- particularly in Thira where the cruise ships seem to have pushed the beautiful located volcanic-lip-clinging restaurants over the top on charges -- avoid them!

Room Tip: We liked our first floor Bourganvillea covered balcony!

Lovely hotel..absolutely spotless and very pretty..Katarina and George are very helpful and friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them..gorgeous pool and gardens. Our room was quite small but fine when you want to be outside so much anyway..My husband loved Katarina's spaghetti Bolognaise and ate it most days once he'd discovered it! We would highly recommend this hotel..
Akrotiri is very small and quiet and there is no nightlife, just a few tavernas. We hired a car from the local guy and buzzed around the island as we pleased..its only half hour from end to end (don't fill the tank with fuel!) We will be back one day and will definately stay here!

This was one of our best holidays yet and was largely due to the wonderful family that run it! Katarinas cooking was perfect and full of local dishes. George her son was so friendly and helpful nothing was too much trouble for him, the hotel was kept spotlessly clean as was the beautiful pool and gardens which the owners worked hard to ensure. Akrotiri is a small but very pleasant village, perfect if you want a quiet relaxing holiday like we did! there are plenty of tavernas to eat in and very reasonably priced, although with such good food at the hotel we only ate out for lunch. the local wine takes some getting used to but it doesnt take long!! Atlantas white wine 20011 sold in the local shops is by far the best and not expensive. For short trips do try the quads their lots of fun. we cant recommend this hotel enough we will be going back there again and look forward to seeing both George and Katerina again.

Room Tip: rooms overlooking the pool are the best.
