My husband, 15 year old daughter and I have just returned from a wonderful week at the Paradise Hotel.
Before arriving, we were concerned that it wouldn't live up to our expectations from the photos we had seen and the reviews. However, there was only one very small disappointment and that was that the towels were rather worn. Everything else was brilliant; the staff were very welcoming, the rooms were simple but very clean, the sheets were changed daily and the pool and the general setting of the hotel was beautiful.
Akrotiri itself is a quiet village but there are four tavernas to choose from and a well stocked shop - all just across the road from the hotel. The archaeological site must be visited but we would advise booking a guide to get the most from the site; it is difficult to understand it all by just wandering around yourselves We also hired a car from the village for three days and this was a great way to see more of the island than can be done by bus. We would also recommend a boat trip to the volcano island and hot springs.
Santorini itself is absolutely beautiful and trips to Fira and Oia are a must.

Room Tip: Our room fronted onto the pool and had a balcony so we were in a great position.

The best western paradase is a very warm hotel with great hospitality. Lovely and large swimming pool, and very kind local people. George, the owner, kindly informed us about the sightseings, restaurants, beaches etc. The price was extremely good, best value/money hotel. Many sightseings such as red beach, archaeological site, white beach are too close.

The Best Western paradise in Akrotiri was such a Joy! From the moment we walked in the door they made us feel nothing but welcomed. Angelica was such a sweetheart and was so accommodating. When we first arrived in Santorini we had booked another hotel in Kamari which turned out to be a dump. The "Woman" who ran the place barely spoke english and all she wanted was our money. We quickly looked online and found the best western - which ended up saving our trip. It was a breath of fresh air being greeted with Orange Juice at the door, and to receive some real quality customer service. Akrotiri is a small quiet area in the southern part of Santorini -it was lovely, peaceful and quite. The Hotel paradise was breathtaking and i could have just hung out there the whole trip. They really made me feel welcome as a tourist.

stayed for a week with my 7 months pregnant wife and was nice. other BW's are more luxury, but they do their best so you can enjoy your holiday. it is a nice hotel to stay if you came for a relaxing holiday! if you are a night bird, the Akrotiri village is not for you! this village is remote from the crowds, so no night life. hotel has everything for the stars and more: the garden is competing with the one from 4 or 5 stars (considering the water situation in Santorini). hotel is located on the caldera view, so you have to walk a bit to the beach, but surroundings compensates. go up in the village as there are the things to see even if nobody tells you.
if you are for the first time in Santorini, a transport (scooter, quad or car) is a must. get a transport and go to the lighthouse, to Fira and Oia. run away form crowded restaurants as you have to really wait for your meal.
our major surprise for the hotel (and also for Santorini as a Greek island), was the lack of fresh fruits from meals!!! no oranges, no melons (the most expected). the hotel offered at the breakfast a fruits salad, but from the can, not fresh.

Stayed 4 nights in BW Paradise hotel in Akrotiri, and found the place very competitive.

I got a fine clean room with a flat screen TV and overlooking the huge pool. Reception is very friendly and bus stop is just outside for busses to Fira and Oia. Price 1,80 Euro for a single to Fira. Taxi to harbor is 18 Euro.

If you don’t crab a taxi when you arrive by boat, then take the first local bus (looks like a coach) to Fira bus station and from there further on to Akrotiri. You pay on the bus 2,20 euro harbor to Fira.

Several restaurants in Akrotiri, but I found Maria’s just next door one of the best. Good local food to a fine price.

There is a small supermarket just opposite the hotel. Breakfast is typical Greek, so don’t expect anything else.
