Owner description: Red beach Santorini: The red beach is one of the most famous and beautiful of the beaches of Santorini. It is located near the village and ancient site of Akrotiri.

Went over there by boat from Akrotiri, did not go down for a swim. As first there is no quay to get off the boat, but you have to wade ashore. And secondly, very crowded and no sand, just pebbles. We are from Malta, and it simply does not come close to our beaches. We enjoyed the half an hour boat trip at 5 euros/person as you get to see red beach, white beach and black beach. One can also access this beach from a pathway from Akrotiri bay, but not any easy walk for the elderly.

So and so! Beautiful view! You have to walk little bit about 10-15 minutes! You must carry umbrella , water and other supplies! Clear waters the beach was little bit dirty from sea plants!
It is ok if you compare to the other beach in santorini!!

Complete waste of time. Much better beaches to visit with better amenities.

Most people stay for an hour and leave.

Go to perissa beach or chill on the bean bags at Yalos restaurant.

What a trek here!! Make sure you wear comfortable shoes, take food, drink and water shoes. This is a very nice spot, however other people know about it too, so expect loads of people here and boats docking here to drop off passengers. For 5 EUR one way you can visit White and Black beach from here.

Best way to see the Red Beach, White Beach, and/or Black Beach use the 5 Eu round trip Boat Taxis from the beach near the archaeological site Akrotiri. If you like archaeology and mega structures, see that first. Either way park on the street for free or in the pay lot where it is 4 Eu for car. Walk to the water then turn right and look for the small pier with the Boat Taxis. They will take you to the sand on the Red Beach and Black Beach, for the White Beach you will need to jump into the water from the boat. Suggest rock booties for nearly all beaches in Santorini. So many people park their cars and then walk forever to the Red Beach, that is not necessary. The boats go every 15 minutes until around 6pm. You don't have to get off the boat, you can just use it for a photo op and round trip boat ride. Enjoy!!
