We stayed at Hotel Mathios Village for 6 nights, from the moment we arrived to the moment we left we were welcomed! The staff exceeded our expectations. Always willing to help and showing us where to go when visiting Santorini. Very approachable family fun business. With two pools there was alot of space for all who was staying, enough privacy and enough pool beds, great bar and restaurant! The location was great for us, we rented a car so had no trouble. We were provided with maps and routes by the staff so getting around was easy. Highly recommend. We will definatly stay at Hotle Mathios Village again.

How could anybody rate this place as terrible, poor, or average. We found the hotel to be very clean, with excellent food, pleasant surroundings and excellent staff.

Over a very pleasant stay and if you consider staying here deal directly with Kostoas he will treat you as a family member, even if you come from Australia.

A great place

Our stay at hotel mathios was somewhat average.

We ordered lunch and was greeted with warmed up spaghetti from the fridge, not fresh.

Our air conditioner continued to aggressively rattle throughout our whole stay with no fix available.

The "buffet" breakfast consisted of a very select view variety of foods, and with the milk being left out and warm, cereal was out of the question.

The receptionist seemed rather clueless when we asked for assistance, even for the simplest tasks such as "where Is your nearest cash point" we couldn't even get an answer.

The maids refused to clean our room because we were sitting outside on the deck (we found out days later)

Also we were hassled to leave the pool at 8pm sharp, which was the opposite of discrete.

My overall feelings Were left unsatasfied during our stay in hotel mathios based on the Price I was paying, I felt ripped off.

This hotel feels more like a villa, in the best way. We stayed here for our honeymoon and it proved to be the perfect spot for us. It was very peaceful and possessed a simple, quaint charm. It's fitting, then, that its family run. Kostos runs the place and is incredibly friendly and helpful. Most people on the beautiful island of Santorini are, but he was one of the nicest people we met. The food there is also amazing. It's prepared by Mama, and it was among some of the most authentic Greek food we found there (plus it's also probably the cheapest!).

Can't recommend this place and the island of Santorini enough!

MAMA's cooking is amazing. The lobster spaghetti and Tuna salad are reallly tasty. tuna salad is the best salad I ve ever eaten. Freshly served. For lunch, a medium sized platter (chicken and pork kebab, sausage and stuffed lamb together with plenty of chips) is enough for two person to share. The hotel has a brilliant environment, like trees, flowers, two swimming pools. The most iportant is that the manager is quite quite helpful and nice people. I would strongly recommend this hotel to people who will be here in santorini.

I had a an excellent time here as I have in the past. The manager, Kostos is always most gracious and works to ensure you make acquaintance with other guests if they and you are of the friendly sort. The staff is ultra friendly and attentive and the food delicious. Santorini is truly one of the most beautiful islands to visit and Akrotiri is uniquely positioned close to the caldera for some of the most spectacular views you could want. I would advise to call directly to get room rates, you may find a much better price that with some of the booking agencies. The spectacular Archeological site of Ancient Akrotiri is now open and is well worth the trip as are the two museums in the town of Fera. Not all the rooms have a sea view but most all have a nice view of the delightful combination of two pools. I am sure I will find my way here again in the future!

Room Tip: There are some beautiful sea views but they are more expensive. If that is not a must, the rooms urr...
