If you like to relax by the beach and lie in a sun chair next to the pool then you will like this hotel. The hotel is situated just next to the beach and from the pool area you have a nice view over the entire beach. The hotel grounds for the hotel is very large and covers a big area with small parks and walking paths which make a nice impression.

In general this is a very nice hotel which I can recommend but...

The hotel is a little torn and worn and in our rooms we found some cockroaches in our room. I also suspect the room above our room had water damage as there was a very unpleasant smell of mould in our room mixed with another smell of insect poison which was very unpleasant. Another remark is that even though the staff is very friendly and smile at you nothing happens. Some examples, I asked for an adapter to my room, it took four hours and four reminders to get the adapter. I asked for a menu to eat, it took half an hour and three reminders and in the end I went somewhere else as the staff failed to provide me with a menu.

The thing my family love most about the hotel was the beach and the waves in the sea. The waves are big and very fun to bath in. Do be aware of the currents though. The swimming pool is very good and they have a child pool. By the pool you can sit and have something to drink and have a very nice view over the pool and the beach.

Room Tip: Pick a room facing the beach or the swimming pool.

We stayed here recently for the second time and were pleasantly surprised by the newly renovated bathrooms. They are a lovely improvement that helped make the stay even more comfortable.
The hotel staff are wonderfull here - always happy to help or even just have a chat. The food was also delicious! We'd go back just for their buffet.
Nice, tranquil beach location that is now very easy to get to with the new Sri Lankan Freeway (called a Highway in Lanka). Great beach side pool too.
Would definitely go back for more!

This is an okay hotel, in my opinion not exactly a 4 star hotel internationally.
The room we got did not look at all like the ones up for advertisement on the internet. It was not cleaned properly, the bathroom smelt weird. We once got a towel delivered to our room with a MASSIVE hole on it, it is almost unbelievable that whoever put it there didn't notice it.
It looks overall dated, from the rooms, to reception and the outdoor premises.
The beach is nice. however we were almost scared to step out of the hotel area. There are loats of locals on the beach trying to sell tourists literally anything from tours, souvenirs to restaurants.. And most of them seem not to understand the meaning of 'no thanks' and follow you along the beach for as long as you are there. The hotel has sort of a net(looks bad and covers the sea view) in order to prevent the sellers from coming in the hotel.
The restaurant by the pool had incredible fresh sea food and we ate there more than once.
Staff was friendly, however was constantly pushing guests to pay for meals/drinks with cash in order to get tips.
I could not forget to mention some sort of weird live music that would happen every night by the reception. By the reception? It is nice and all the attempt to entertain guests with music and some dancing but they could do this at another area of the hotel. The music was way too loud and wasn't turned off until very late which is not acceptable taking into consideration that there were many rooms around.

We decided to go to this hotel because if the great reviews we've read here. I'm so glad we did. The location is great not in the business area like rest if the big hotels. Service was impeccable. We specially enjoyed our dinner at the sea food restaurant. Fantastic cocktails at the bar. Breakfast was decent. Rooms were lovely and newly done. All the staff members were really friendly and helpful. Specially frontdesk staff. In the evening they wear black which was decent. Compliment to the manager I'm sure he is very proud of all his staff and should be at what a very good job they do.

Room Tip: We were in a coner room which has a beautiful view..

This is a very nice hotel with excellent pool area and clean rooms, good for those on a budget. Very nice Staff Rohan Bar Waiter and Manooj Pool Attendant were helpful and proactive. Very quiet in the evening appart from some live music on some nights but that was fine for us. The only things that were a little irriating was that Room Service finished at midnight which was not highlighted in the inroom guide and sometimes bar and food service around pool was a bit slow. This did not spoil our holiday though and we would return to this hotel.

Room Tip: All rooms have pool and sea view.
