We stayed here last year and decided to return, worrying that it would not be as good with a different team of reps. Hotel just as good - wide range of food, helpful staff, fabulous pools, great spa, large rooms, quiet and safe location for children.

Thomson reps were superb. Kids club reps were great, entertainment reps fantastic (even in the face of some overly competitive adult guests) and all made us feel welcome. For a family friendly hotel in the sun with a relatively short flight, short transfer time and competitive pricing, it is hard to beat. Would recommend it to anyone wanting their kids to have a good time and not expecting Mark Warner style refinement for the adults at budget prices.

Room Tip: Choose a superior room on one of the higher floors if you are worried about noise from the evening entertainment.

We stayed here from the 18th-28th July we were a party of two adults and 2 children aged 3 and 5.
Good points:-
Quick and easy transfer from airport
Quick check in at hotel
Reception staff always smiling and happy to help
Impressed with the wall's ice cream tubs and ice pop's
The selection of wine/beer and soft drinks were very good
The food was excellent plenty of variety this was one of the best hotels I have stayed in for the food
This was the best hotel for Thomson staff they were always on hand and happy to help(none of the I will be there at 7pm once a week if your lucky)
The spa facilities were good I booked my wife in for a head/back and shoulder massage that got the thumbs up and priced very reasonable
Bad points:-
The rooms are not that of a 4star hotel they let this hotel down(that's our opinion others may think they are good
The entertainment!( to be fair the staff put 100% effort into it) and the kids loved it but was pretty naff for adults I have seen a lot better if your expecting good acts/shows at night you won't find it at this hotel as someone already mentioned its butlins in the sun!(not that there's anything wrong with butlins but not just for us)
The hotel is a bit out if the way so if you want to go for walks at night and stop and find a nice bar to have a drink you won't find it without taking a taxi.
On the whole the hotel was ok but not 4star, would we go back?No
But this is our views

A Thomson hotel aimed at families may seem a strange choice for 2 lively grandmothers but this hotel was one of the most enjoyable I've been to. First drop off from the airport and a speedy check in, then straight up to our room for a cup of tea. (We have now started to choose our hotels for the tea making facilities!) The room was clean and tidy and could sleep 4. There were 2 convertable beds down 3 steps and then a large balcony. So this meant we had a sleeping area and a living area which was very good. Usual bathroom but with the plus of a handrail to help you in and out of the shower. As we had arrived late at night, our first meal was breakfast and we entered the large dining room, complete with buggy park outside, wondering what we would find. Lots of children....... all seeming to be behaving well and one of the reps to greet us. There were large tables seating 6 or 8 as well as the usual 2's and 4's. Down at the far end, there was a separate section for adults only which we used most of the time. The food at all meal times was good, hot and plentyful, with a excellant choice of gluten free bread, cereals and pasta. No problems there. There was a chocolate fountain in the evenings and as I've never used one before I thought I'd give it a go. Not very good at it, but there were plenty of volunteers to show me how it should be done. And I think I made the most mess! You could eat all your meals outside if you wished and at lunchtimes we went to a lovely shady garden patio area. The pool areas were surrounded by sunbeds and soon got very full and busy, but just go a little further away and there were empty sunbeds with sea views even at 11.30am. The beach is very small, pebbly with soft black sand and the sea was quite rough with strong under currents. OK for digging but not really suitable for small children. The reps organized games for both children and adults in and out of the pools. The evening entertainment on the main stage was aimed at families but there are 2 other bars. Outside seating in the evening was very poor. The only area was fully occupied by smokers, so you have to sit inside if you don't smoke. Overall, we had a fabulous holiday and would certainly return again. The children on the whole were very well behaved and I don't think anyone could complain about them. The childrens team reps were absolutely fantastic and couldn't have done a better job. I only wish my children were still small enough to bring themto this hotel.

Room Tip: All rooms have a sea view, but only if you are on the 4th floor or above due to the palm trees.

everything from the flight to the hotel to the food to the entertainment was outstanding!!

We have visited the hotel three years ago we felt the entertainment was a bit sloopy but everyting els was excellent! we still had an amazing time and at that point the best holiday we had been on. this year we decided to take another holiday to hotel orquidea were we found everthing to be immaculate! the room was spotless the entertainment was OUTSTANDING and they all need a pay rise!
pixie paige- a fun loving girl with all the time in the world for the kids and hillarious around asults!
jazzie jaimme-a bubbly guy with a jam packed personality and absouletly perfect at his job in every way!
jenny bean- a great kids entertainer who never was slacking from work was always happy to stop and chat!
big daddy- an amazing entertainer who was all round talented man from singing to dancing and making people laugh
AND WHO COULD FORGET THOMPSON THE DOG - well it kept the kids happy!!
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK ALL OF YOU!!!! :)
the food was good with all the variety you could have wished for but meat you need to be cautionary of because the chicken available there was under cooked and still like jelly!

THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS OBVIOUSLY HAD THE WRONG HOTEL!!

Room Tip: always pick the suite if available

we are a family of 3, 2 adults, 1 child. we went to orquidea in july 21011 and although we did have a fantastic time there was a 'bug' going around then!!
We made friends with other families and they all had sickness too, i'm surprised to read that there still seems to be issues with sickness a year on.
The hotel is great but we would not go back due to the year long bug.
be prepared and take medicines with you.
