Upon entering Pattaya we drove around for quite some time trying to find the hotel only to realize that it was a ways away from the city center. When we finally arrived at Mountain Beach Hotel we were greeted with the information that they had canceled our booking the previous day without telling us. The manager on duty was helpful in getting my wife and I another room but the room we were finally given was badly in need of a make-over. Our room, however, was relatively clean. The nail in the coffin for this hotel was when I came in with my wife after a night on he town. The hotel staff literally yelled at her to show some ID because they thought she was a local Thai girl accompanying me to my room. We had already stayed in the hotel for 3 days by this time and my wife had repeatedly (and kindly) explained that she was not Thai. When the front desk staff realized they had just accused one of their guest of being a hooker they did not bother to apologize to my wife who was very hurt and insulted by their actions. If you NEED a place to stay I suppose this hotel might fit the bill but I would recommend looking elsewhere. There are so many other hotels in Pattaya that are better run, cheaper, and more central.
