Came back yesterday from a week at thalassi hotel feeling revitalised and ready to resume life back in england. Would like to thank Dimitri and Eva for a wonderful holiday full of warmth and humour. If you are looking for a lively holiday then this place is not for you. If it is quiet relaxation you require then you will not go far wrong at the thalassi, just a good homely atmosphere and fantastic food at a beautifull restaurant location. Keep up the good work guys.

My partner and I stayed at the Thalassi Hotel for 1 week from 18th September. Instantly made to feel welcome by Eva and Dimitri. The Hotel is spotlessly clean and the rooms are a very good size and have all you need in them, including a fridge, kettle and oven rings even though we were half board which was very handy.
The food on an evening was fantastic, something different to try every night and always delicious and the veg was organic and farmed by Dimitris farm, he is very proud of his food and rightly so. No buffet style here, just authentic greek dishes to try and if you dont like them he is very accommodating and quick to make something else but one word of advice is to watch the waistline expand!!
Its a bit of a strange resort when you first get there but once you figure it our its got some really pretty and very greek bits! Links to Rethymnon are easy and cheap by bus and well worth a trip, especially on market day. The beach at the front of the restaurant isnt the best but just a couple of minutes walk and it gets much wider and sandier and turtles had even laid their eggs there too. Not much for kids to do here I wouldnt think, we were travelling as a couple and found it extremely relaxing but probably too quiet for families.

We stayed at the thalassi for 1 week all inclusive between 4th and 11th september 2012...the owners dimitri and eva were the loveliest people ever, they knew all the guests by name and treated them like family, all their staff were very polite friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble...we stayed in a studio which was traditional by greek standards, it was spacious pretty basic but comfortable and regularly cleaned and bedding and towels changed twice weekly,.the food was excellent cooked fresh and we were never given the same meal twice! All the fruit vegetables and dimitris legendary and very tasty olive oil is grown and produced on their own farm, we were even given a large bottle of their delicious olive oil by eva before we left, the beach restaurant is spectacular and the views at sunset are breathtaking, we have happy memories of the hilarious evenings we spent at the beach restaurant mith my sister and brother in law, dimitri who made it his business to see that you were enjoying yourself (and never had an empty glass!) and the lovely new friends we met there and hope to see there again...if you get the chance the little fishing village of panormo is definitely worth a visit with its lovely harbour and sandy beach overlooked by some very authentic reasonably priced restaurants, its about a 15 minute bus trip away and costs about €3.60 return, bus tickets are bought from the supermarkets..we have never been back to the same twice and have visited several other greek islands but we will definitely be returning to the thalassi next year!

Myself and my fiance booked this holiday having never been to Crete on a late deal for our first holiday together. I can honestly say we now have memories that will last a life time. It's an absolute gem of an hotel for the money we paid with attentive and caring owners, Dimitri and Eva.

We chose to go half board having breakfast and tea. The breakfast is served at the hotel and consists of boiled eggs, toast, bread, meats and cheese's with a selection of baked goods available too. The evening meal is served at the restaurant which is a short walk through the town to the beach. I don't understand the complaints about this very short walk as when you arrive and see the setting you dine in, it's breathtaking. Dining right about the time the sun sets looking out to sea. Dimitri deals with the restaurant area and creates an enjoyable fun night every night.

When going abroad we all have our apprehensions about the food but fear not the food at the restaurant is incredible. Three courses every night with nearly all ingredients produced from Dimitri's farm. The food is his pride and joy and you can taste this with every bite. We came away with four bottles of his olive oil and a bottle of wine as we couldn't bare never to taste it again. We chose to dine here every night of our holiday and spoke to others who ventured elsewhere with regret.

During our weeks stay we chose to go on two excursions, Water City water park and the Samaria gorge walk. The water park was about an hour and a half transfer. Can't recommend the excursion enough, great water park with varied rides. The Samaria gorge walk was mis sold via our rep be will still had a fantastic time. The gorge is not for the faint hearted mind being a 13km walk (I say walk more like hike/scramble) totalling 5+ hours. Bare in mind if you choose this excursion extra prices will be incurred on the day including ferry and mini bus transfers which for two people worked out to about another 30 euros. I would recommend booking excursions elsewhere and not through the rep as they are about half the price.

If your looking for a personal experience with incredible food and caring hosts then look no further. Thank you Dimitri, Eva and all the other hard working Thalassi hotel staff that pieced together our prefect holiday.

Craig & Kelly - Cleethorpes.

Just returned from a week in this hotel/resort (6-13th Sept) and cannot fault anything about it. I think that probably says it all because I know we usually find something to moan about.

We wanted a nice relaxing week, some well earned sunshine and generally a chance to unwind. The hotel is spotlessly clean and maintained to a very good standard. While rooms are basic they are very comfortable, a good size, immaculate and perfectly adequate with a TV, fridge and cooking facilities. Air conditioning and safe can be arranged at a very reasonable rate with Eva and Dimitri. We went for the all inclusive option and were delighted with both quality and quantity, with many ingredients being sourced from their own small holding. Owners and staff were excellent with nothing being too much trouble.

The resort itself is quiet, so will not suit those looking for lively entertainment on their doorstep but it is easy to travel into Rethmynon by bus which runs regularly and costs about £2 return. There is a small harbour/fishing village about 20 minutes away by bus and we would recommend a visit.

The atmosphere of the place is magnificent and we made some great friends and intend to visit again next year.

Many Thanks to Eva, Dimitri and all their staff!

We booked our honeymoon from the 4th sept to the 11th of Sept. We had never been to crete before so didnt know what to expect. we booked all inclusive and arrived at the hotel at midnight where Eva was waiting to greet us. She gave us a warm welcome and a drink and showed us to our room. The room was lovely next morning we a lovely breakfest by the pool. Eva gave us info on the area and told about how to get bus tickets etc. we spent most of our time at the hotel beach restaurant which was in a beautiful location with its own beach. Dimitri was a great host nothing was to much trouble for him or any of the staff. The food was exellent freshly cooked meals every day not the usual buffet you would expect going all inclusive the drinks were great to. This was our honeymoon and we had a wonderful time thanks to Eva, Dimitri and all the staff at the Hotel and to the new friends we made. This was a special holiday which we shall never forget.Carnt wait to come back next year with the kids roll on 2013
