Just came back from weekend away with friends. Hotel seemed fine on our arrival. Room was really small but clean. Many bits and bobs were sort of falling apart ( handles, architraves etc...) .Think they could do with better maintenance. Some staff making hotel guests feeling not welcome or having attitude problems. They were often talking down on us. Spoken to other guests, they felt the same. Staff seemed to treat Spanish guests better than any other nationalities. Only one young receptionist seemed pleasant enough, then some restaurant staff and house keeping. We stayed on all inclusive basis. Food was basic but ok so as drinks. Only problem is they're serving in really small glasses so you have to request 2 drinks at the time. If you want to get more drinks before 11pm you have to make sure you don't have many glasses on your table, otherwise they won't serve you (if you're Spanish, you can have as many as you like). Outside area with tables and chairs needs improvement. It seems to be really basic so people don't stay outside for long time and rather go elsewhere nicer for a drink. Drinks are served in cheapest small plastic cups during the day and wind often blows them all over the place spilling 1/3 of your drink around (or on you).
Location is ok, close to beautiful beach.2 sounloungers and an umbrella are 15euros for a day. There is also hotel mini bus to and from the beach (driver Atila is really lovely!).
Hotel is around 30Eur by taxi from the airport but you can also take buses 3 and 1 back to the airport which is only around 4eur pp.

We stayed here last week for 7 days. Be aware that if you have difficulty climbing stairs this is not the place to stay, over 100 steps down to the main street and lots of steps from the hotel down to the pool area. Rooms are ok, basic but our room had a nice view of the sea. Would have been better if there was a fridge as nowhere to keep cold drinks overnight. Food was ok, nice selection of cooked meat but breakfast was repetitive. Reception staff were friendly as were the restaurant staff. The man at the pool bar was very helpful and friendly. Pool area nice but be aware also this hotel seems to allow large groups of students so can be particularly noisy. Beach is a fair walk away, not that big and does get very busy so you have to get there super early. Overall an ok place to stay but nothing there that would draw is back.

A pleasant hotel situated up a hill over looking the sea this hotel is quite pleasant , it's a bit isolated from any local bars and a heck of a uphill, upsteps walk back from the little town or beach , but the hotel does provide a shuttle service to the local nice beach, the hotel was clean the food was nice , if you enjoy a pint then hold your breath because you only get a tumbler of beer, and your liver won't suffer a deal because I think they remove the alcohol lol, the entertainment was bland, but passed the time , there are no other places nearby to seek alternative entertainment unless you walk down the hill to town or get a taxi somewhere.
The pool is a clean basic no frills rectangle with a good look snack bar and they resist belting out annoying loud pool bar music all day so you can hear the birds and wind through the trees , the pool is on a lower level to the hotel so there are many steps to negotiate to get down to it but there is a very long gradual ramp.

Good points, Clean, nice food , good sea view from our room, shuttle bus service to and from beach, nice staff.

Other points, Isolated, no other places nearby to go for a bit of a change unless you like hills,
Annoying cleaners in reception in the morning as you want to use your laptop , as you can only get WiFi in reception area and not the whole hotel. they need to clean it earlier than 8 am. and get of the guests way, Wouldn't stay here again its a bit to away from everything and hilly . But we still enjoyed our stay and you won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: Many rooms have a spectacular sea view as the hotel is situated on a hill . try and get a room with...

I have stayed at all MLL Hotels. Blue Bay is the worst. Rooms are basic and out of date and quite grubby in parts as is most of the hotel. Staff aren't particularly friendly. I have 3 main issues about this hotel...

1. High speed internet - On their website it states that there is WIFI throughout the hotel. There is only WIFI in a small area of reception. If you look at people on their tablets and phones all you can see is a circle swirling round waiting for a page to load. There is "NO" WIFI in the rooms!

2. Coffee Machines - All the coffee machines in the hotel are broken. There is no milk. When complaining about this I was showed a cup of cloudy water and told "this milk"! I told them that this clearly was NOT milk. I was then told "OK, you go to pool bar... they have milk"... At the pool bar I was shown cloudy water again and told "look... this milk"! I had to tell them that this is NOT milk. Then all I was given was shrugged shoulders????

3. Matress in bedroom - Worst matress I have slept on. Metal springs poking out everywhere.

This is all I can be bothered to write for now, but please don't be fooled by the Blue Bay Hotel Website. This is a 2* hotel posing as a 3* hotel and should charge accordingly.

By the way: The steps as mentioned in other peoples comments - They really are not a problem. When leaving the hotel walk straight down the hill, turn left and cross the road. Walk for 2 mins and see the sign for Pelican Beach/Cala Mayor Beach... You are now at the lovely beach. You never near to use the steps unless you are on a health mission!

Room Tip: Have a room on the back of the hotel so that you get the most from the afternoon/evening sun and a n...

Just been to the Blue Bay Hotel for the week staff are so friendly and helpful, rooms are kept very clean didn't think much to Cala Major, thought it was expensive compared to Magaluf and other places, meal in the hotel were ok pritty much the same but enjoyable. This hotel puts some 4 stars to shame so good value for money would stay again if hotel was in a different area. Overall very good holiday if you are prepared to travel to other places and use this as your base or if you want a quiet relaxing holiday by the pool this is it.

Just got back today from a weeks stay at Blue Bay,. the staff are all lovely, friendly and helpful and they are always chatty, our room had a gorgeous view of the sea, we didn't find it noisy at all, our room was cleaned every day with fresh towels, small balcony, half board and the food was really nice, lots of choice. There was a little entertainment but the hotel is a small one so people are not really there for late night entertainment, the pool area was very nice and a short walk to small coves with sandy beaches, Martins bar down the road is a good stop off too and from the town (as it is a steep hill to Blue Bay). Short bus ride to Palma, and short drive to Genova where there are great views and lovely restaurants, we went to Maison Ca'n Pedro, lovely lamb and suckling pig, all traditional food and great service.

The hotel is located fairly close to Palma and a couple of small beaches but the neighbourhood seemed fairly quiet and didn't offer much (expect this to get better closer to the summer).
The hotel itself is fairly standard; didn't feel like I was getting spoiled in any way but the quality was good given the price. Found the guys at the front desk to be helpful - one young guy, Jose, especially stood out; always positive and seemed very interested in both helping and following up on questions.
The room was clean although some barely noticeable spots had clearly been left out of the cleaning routine.
