We went two couples plus one baby to Alimounda. Lovely hotel. It was fully booked and yet very pleasant. The view is stunning and infinity pool blends in majestically. Rooms are modern with subtle sophistication and well maintained. A walking distance from town, which is packed with local authentic Karpathian cuisines (personally recommend Sofia's place) and surprisingly beautiful. Recommend looking into boat rides to northern beaches in the island.

This hotel generally deserves an excellent (5 points) mark due to the well kept facility, large rooms, cleanliness, service and smile, breakfast and lunch as well as an excellent pool and a nice (yet rocky - not sandy) beach.
But, the strict rules (do not and do not and do not...) type of rules posted are a bit too much. And yes, somebody doesn't respect guests and probably himself in this hotel. In this era you get your RFID door keys and in many hotels you just keep it for you. Here in Alimounda you have to pay 5 EUR if you loose one. And what if it broke? We found out that you to pay for a broken one 5 EUR as well, which is outrageous to me. I wonder when will they start to charge you for a plate you accidentally broke in the dining room. Somebody there in hotel management should think these policy over!

Room tip: Rooms closer to the sea have a better view (and therefore atmosphere) relative to those at the far side

GEORGE P, Manager at Alimounda Mare, responded to this reviewResponded August 21, 2017

Rules and regulations are meant to inspire a mutual respect among guests. We do not believe that it is an exaggeration to ask guests not to reserve all the sunbeds early in the morning when they intend to use them in the afternoon. Nor do we believe it is an exaggeration to ask guests NOT to put their feet on the tables (!), to refrain from taking food out of the restaurants, to walk barefooted and naked in the hotel lobby or to wear long trousers at dinner time. These are basic rules and all we do is to remind our guests about them....

Great hotel! My friend and I stayed for one week. Friendly service, amazing breakfast (everything you can wish for!). Sunbeds, pool and beach are excellent. Perfect location. The direct seaview from our room was magical and the room itself was really nice. Large balcony! (Our room was on the third floor, on the left wing of the hotel (when looking at the hotel from the pool)). Cleaning was well taken care if. SPA was nice, tried the hot stone massage and badic manicure. For those who want to work out in the gym, I think it looked quite small. I did not visit the gym though so I cannot be specific. There is also a very handy minishop in the hotel.
