We visited To Psaraki on our trip across the island to go to the Black Sand Beach. It was a bit hard to find, but worth the effort. We sat on a shaded patio on a bluff over-looking the beach and the ocean and loved the view. Also, the service was very friendly and the food fresh and tasty. It was a very nice lunch!

To Psaraki ("the little fish") is one of Santorini's relatively new arrivals (opened in 2011 if I remember correctly) but has already become a favourite. The proprietor is the former chef of Oia's award-winning 1800 restaurant (which I can vouch firsthand took a dive in quality after his departure), who has tansferred his skills to producing some of the best, honest taverna-style food around.

The restaurant is located is on the road overlooking the small harbour of Vlychada with its fishing boats and small yachts. The highlight, however, is the food.

The menu consists of traditional Greek dishes executed absolutely perfectly, as well as a few more "adventurous" dishes (like the fresh fish carpaccio which is only available if the restaurant has been able to find suitable fish caught on the day). You can't go wrong with anything, and you should definitely try the dolmadakia (stuffed vine leaves) which are the best I've ever had - and growing up in Greece I've tried more than my fair share... Another highlight is the tomato dip brought along with the bread, which is made out of the unique triple-condensed Santorini tomato puree - amazing in its simplicity!

The service may sometimes seem slow, but I find that it's perfectly paced to allow you to enjoy all the dishes without being rushed.

All in all, one of the best choices in Santorini for taverna-style food.

This was my favorite meal on Santorini and combined with a fantastic view of the harbor and sea it was a truly memorable evening. Highly recommended by a local it was an excellent choice, especially after a day on the beach nearby.
