I would start by thanking the person behind this wonderful setup; Sahil.
From the cozy cottage in losar, to the home stay at dizzying heights of lanza, to the pacific camps on the bedside of chandratal lake, we experienced it all. A unique experience awaiting us every single day we spent in the valley.
All made possible by sahil and his team who took care of our plans real closely.
Would highly recommend this place to all. You can be rest assured, Sahil will carve out a wonderful itinerary, to suit you.
I visited this beautiful place back in october 2014. Losar is a kind of place that a nature lover always desires for. Peaceful mountains, flowing river, open spaces, beautiful weather and the most warm hearted local people. Its the first inhabitted village while coming from the manali side, takes appx 8 hrs to reach this place. Personaly, while deciding for a stay, first thing that I am cautious about is the hygiene factor - specially the washrooms, and in such a remote location my expectations were not much, but to my surprise the cottage had neat and clean western washrooms. The rooms were neat and clean, the staff would do its best to keep you comfortable and meet all your personalised needs.
Sahil (the owner) was also there during our visit, he is a great host, an actual nomadic traveller who knows this place to the core. Reach out to him for any queries and he would help you to his best to make your trip the most memorable one.
Langcha homestay - a must do if you can compromise on the quality of washrooms for a day or so.
One of the most impeccably maintained motel at 13,100ft .Green house rooms furnished with imported quilts & exquisite curtains, which has to be felt & seen to be believed.Mr Sahil also got two amiable staff.A feel at home atmosphere.Electricity is a big problem at LOSAR,but is substituted by solar lanterns. The study has got an Japanese influence. It is a great value for money.Very well furnished bathrooms which were provided with bottle of shampoos. One must see it along with CHANDRATAL

If I had not traveled to Spiti valley during the summers and personally experienced the place I would have never imagined that there can be a place as beautiful as Lohsar existed on face of planet earth .. The entire drive through Kotgarh,Kinnaur ,Spiti to Nomad's cottage is an experience of lifetime.. The cottage has a picture perfect setting with river flowing in front n snow clad mountains at the back .. N an amazing view of the entire spitian village. The staff is very friendly n will even volunteer to walk u through the village and to there own homes for one to see a local house n feel the living.. Inspite the hardship of the place these smiling faces of the staff n locals is so welcoming that u can feel the warmth in ur heart.. . Thanks to Sahil for arrange the trip of lifetime for us. Will definitely visit again with more friends next year n year after n after ....
After long and torturous bike ride we reached to Losar. Our camp to explore spiti valley. Major attraction was CHANDRATAL.
Location of cottage is awesome. Spectacular view during sunrise and sunset.
Staff is very helpful.
They almost fulfill all our farmaish for food.
We were a group of 6 individuals who visited the spiti valley in Oct 2014. The planning was all directionless till the time we got in contact with the owner (Sahil Duggal) just a week before we had to leave for Spiti and let me tell you this guy was amazing with his knowledge about spiti and nearby places. He helped us in finalizing the itinerary within 15 mins and the best thing is that he gives you all the possible options per your interests with all the pros and cons. He himself is a passionate traveller and has covered the whole spiti valley and thus has all the answers to your possible travelling queries.
If travelling to Spiti, I would definitely suggest you to spend some time in his cottage in Losar rather than spending time in the commercial town of Kaza. This cottage is placed peacefully amidst huge mountains with a river flowing at a walking distance and gives you all the feel that you are very much in the lap of nature. A beautiful hamlet!!
This guy is genuinely an awesome host, and his team ensures that the guests are at their best comfort levels. Best thing is that he has made a dining area where all the guests can get together and chat with each other and share their individual experiences which makes it a fun interactive session where you get to meet people from different parts of country/world.
The cottage gives you the blended feel of the spiti culture along with the right amount of comfort needed to unwind yourself. It is a very hygienically neat and clean place to be.
Most important highlight is the Langcha homestay option that he gives to his clients in the tour package, if not, do ask him for that. It should be a must must have on your itinerary else you would be missing something really really big. Also if weather permits, try camping at chandartal lake, he will make all the arrangements for that also.
In the end I would say, if you are travelling to Spiti, get in touch with Sahil and get your trip planned. He will really make it memorable.

Happy travelling !!!
The Nomads Cottage at Losar is a place which has very fond memories for me. We drove non-stop from Delhi to Lossar in a jeep with the usual stops for food and water. It took us 30 hours but the view once we reached Spiti was worth every minute of the journey. I could go on and on about the scenic beauty, the Spiti river behind the Nomads Cottage, the fossils but lets stick to the point and review The Nomads Cottage.
The first check at any place I stay in, are the bathrooms and I was pleasantly surprised - clean bathrooms with running hot and cold water.
the next thing to be particular about in the hills are bedbugs, lice and the bedsheets, linen, pillows et all are clean and fresh, so no worries there too.
As far as the food at The Nomads Cottage goes, since the dining area is next to the kitchen we could see it being cooked so there was no question about its freshness and was quite tasty too.
We travelled all over the Spiti Valley, the itinerary planned by the owner of the cottage and some amazing stuff....A monk's picture on the mountainside, fossils, glaciers, chandertaal....One of my favourite vacations...
