Many thanks to the lovely hosts Robin and Trish for making us so welcome at Sherwood Glen. We stayed in the Garden Studio for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The breakfasts were very good , an excellent choice and all nothing seemingly too much trouble. We can thoroughly recommend anyone to stay at Sherwood Glen.

We were made very welcome by our hosts Robin and Trish, the rooms have been re vamped and are bright and comfy. Robin was as normal a mine of information about the local area. The breakfast was the real start to the day, a very good selection cooked to perfection.Look forward to our next visit.

Room Tip: All rooms were excellent but had small differences, Loyd had larger tv than Ashley, but Ashley had fi...

Just returned from a wonderful 3 nights stay at the Sherwood Glen. Loved it. Robin and Trish welcomed us with scrumptious home made scones and tea and coffee. We were Instantly made to feel at home. Our room was very spacious with lovely furnishings and soft bed linen and towels. Slept like a log in the king size bed. Exceptional cleanliness. Breakfast was superb with a great choice just what you needed to start the day. Great location tucked away on a quiet private Road in the village of Sleight. Very easy to find. A 3 mile drive from Whitby on the edge of the moors. Ten mins by bus into Whitby. Very close to the River Exe with fab walks. Robin was very informative about the area and kept a good stock of literature in the guest house. Have already recommended it to friends. . Thankyou Robin and Trish. Will definitely be returning. Been for a short break at Sherwood Glen. What a lovely place. The hosts Robin and Trish are the loveliest couple you could meet. We was greeted with a warm welcome and a pot of tea and coffee and fresh baked scones. We stayed in the garden studio which is equipped with everything you could possibly need. There is a wide range of breakfast choice. The Sherwood Glen is situated 3 miles from Whitby and Goathland is also a short drive away. Will definitely stay again.

This was our first stay in Sherwood Glen at the end of February. We had booked the Ashley room for 3 nights. We received a warm welcome on our arrival from Robin and Trish. Our room was spotlessly clean and had 2 comfortable club chairs in which to relax after a full day out exploring the local area. Our en-suite bathroom was excellent with a superb shower and large fluffy towels. We thoroughly enjoyed our freshly cooked breakfast each morning with the locally produced sausage, bacon and 2 eggs from the resident chickens. We have stayed in many Guest Houses all over the country during the past 20 years and Sherwood Glen is without doubt one of the best !!

We are hoping to return again later in the year......

This was our first stay at Sherwood Glen but it will definitely not be our last. We were made very welcome as soon as we set foot out of the car. Our rooms were very clean and spacious with an ample hospitality tray (fresh milk in the fridge on the landing). Breakfast was excellent with a very good choice of cereal, fresh fruit or porridge to start with as much toast and tea/coffee as you wanted (I don't drink either but Robin readily supplied fresh lemon and hot water).
Robin and Trish were very helpful and friendly even offering to book us a table at a local restaurant. We look forward to seeing them again either later this year or early next.

We stayed for 4 nights in the Lloyd room at the beginning of February. Robin and Trish were the perfect hosts throughout our stay and had an in depth knowledge of the area. The freshly baked scones on arrival were a real treat. Our room was decorated and furnished to an extremely high standard with a huge comfortable bed. The hospitality tray was generously replenished on a daily basis with an excellent selection of items. The en suite bathroom was spacious and it made a refreshing change to have family sized bottles of shower gel and shampoo instead of the more usual sample sizes. Breakfasts were plentiful and freshly prepared with local produce where possible. The location was a good choice for visiting Whitby, Scarborough and the Moors. Having taken advantage of the early season offer our stay was superb value for money. Definitely one we'd visit again if in the area.
