We were 3 people, looking for an alternative to an airport hotel. AT the airport , a hotel would have meant 2 rooms ( no family rooms), costing around 350 to 400 Euros. Spend your $$ in other places in Greece, where you want to have a special room, other than at the airport.
You really need a car to get to this hotel, or a short cab ride. Still would save you money. Don't expect a lot, but for an overnight, airport stay, this hotel is just fine....clean, efficient. We had a cot moved in and for the 3 of us, WITH breakfast, for 80 Euros. ! Didn't have the b'fast, too early a departure, so cannot comment on that. No elevator, but just 2 floors.
On the Markopoulo Hwy. Driveway in to hotel is on a busy road..get in right lane and look for sign and gate in. A little noisy, but turn on A/C and it drowns it out.
Lots of restaurants a short drive away. Man on desk recommended Taverna Trigono, a half mile from the hotel. Really good food, good price. Nice evening out in patio, not in an overpriced airport restaurant.
Trust me...a good decision.

This hotel was further away from the airport than most others, but VERY reasonably priced (significantly less than those at the airport itself) and only a 10-15 minute taxi trip to/from the airport. Be advised, however, that the cabs will charge you as much as if you were going to central athens. The service was a little prickly and some of the other guests were loud, but overall, I would definitely stay here again for an airport layover. They also booked an early morning cab for us to the airport the next morning, which was extremely convenient and made for worry-free travel.

A mediocre hotel in the middle of an industrial area. We arrived about 8.30pm and getting food was almost a problem, however in the end we were able to organise some takeaways. The main thing it has going for it is location, ie 10 minutes from the airport. Rooms are small and basic, but clean and OK for a night or two. Nice cafe type area for breakfast and a few drinks, a good place to watch the football with some locals, entertaining if their club or Greece is playing.

We stayed one night between a late flight into Athens and a morning flight out. We had 7 people in our group. The rooms were nice and clean and much cheeper than the airport hotel. The hotel is out in the suburbs. There is nothing, including and place to buy food, within walking distance. The taxi drivers, we had 2, both tried to charge us over 30 euros although the meter was less than 15. As always watch the taxi drivers from the Athens airport!
The staff was very helpful and the cabs they called in the morning arrived on time and charged the correct amount.

This is good, though in most respects unremarkable, hotel, and Markopoulo is not a memorable town. But if you are leaving from the airport the next day, you cannot find a more convenient hotel. They have shuttle service to the airport, but most people who stay here, I suspect, will have their own cars. It is a quick, painless, five minute ride to the airport-- it couldn't be easier.

The hotel is not plush, but it is a good hotel, with friendly staff, and overall we thought it was a very good value. It is right next to a busy highway, but double-paned glass and shutters block out most of the noise. There was some hallway noise from elevator doors (that open manually) and people stomping around. But we slept well.

We liked the staff. One especially nice desk clerk sent us to a nearby village to his favorite restaurant. It turned out to be one of the best meals we had in Greece, and it was a lot of fun.

The taverna is Trigono, in nearby Kalyvis (about a mile southwest of Markopoulo). To get there, go south from the hotel on the highway 1/2 mile to the first stoplight. Take a right and go about a mile, through the first roundabout, and the taverna is immediately on your left, across the street from a bp station.

We had a truly great meal at Trigono. They specialize in lamb, pork, and calf. Good barrel wine, and high quality food at very reasonable prices.

The kicker, for us, is that there are two dining rooms that pivot off of the kitchen, which is partially open and partly divided by a glass panel. So diners in either room can look directly into the kitchen as the staff prepare the meals. As it happens, they get whole lamb carcasses, and whole sides of pork and calf (all skinned, of course). The chefs butcher these in full view of diners, on a massive butcher block the size of a large stump. It was fascinating to watch them expertly process side after side of meat for later diners. At the very least, you knew exactly how fresh the food was... and the correct answer is "very fresh."

My wife and I enjoyed the restaurant tremendously, although we realize that watching a chef carve up lamb and pork carcasses while you eat might not be to everyone's taste. The staff was great, the food was excellent, there was a lot of it, and it was a bargain. It is a "locals" restaurant, but there were a lot of families there and there was a very welcoming atmosphere. It wasn't even that smoky when we were there (early evening). We loved it, and it was an unexpectedly memorable going away present from Greece. Highly recommended.

We stayed here before an early morning flight. The staff were extremely helpful.

The bedroom was very clean, with AC, and not as noisy as some of the reviews had led us to believe.

The shower was small but okay, again better than we had anticipated.

There is a bar on the ground floor and you can order food. The hotel booked a taxi for us for the morning and it took about 10-15 minutes to the aiport.

While I would not stay here for any other reason than its proximity to Athens Airport it is very good value for travellers.

Hi,
The hotel is located near the Athens airport, past Markopoulo on the road to Sounio. (By doing an illegal U-turn) you can get to the airport in less than 10 minutes.
While I wouldn't stay here for any other reason than an early moring flight out of ATH, this is an OK hotel, similar to your average US motel. It's right by a busy road, but well sound insulated. The interior is a little worn, but not too bad.
We arrived late, but still managed a quick drive to Cape Sounio (Thanks to the directions given by the friendly staff).
Overall, a good alternative to the 200+ Euro airport hotel with its 23 Euro breakfast.
