Stumbled upon this village taverna by accident. Went to the village to visit the small but excellent local museum. Then lunched at Gavilianos Kafenes in the village square. Run by an Australian women who has lived in Greece for many years. Not fussy or fancy but more care and attention to the menu than the average Cretan taverna. Wonderful selection of dips and salads. Very fresh and tasty. And a beautiful position made better through thoughtful design. If you are passing nearby definately worth a visit.
