Hotel Can Talaias
Reviewed June 7, 2014

We have just returned from a week stay at Can Talaias. We booked the hotel trough iescape as we always do and we're not disappointed. This time we went with our parents so we were looking for something chilled out....and this is exactly what we got.

We were attracted firstly to the history, beauty of the building and location. It is located off the beaten track outside of Sant Carles. You will need a car unless you plan to spend all your time at the hotel. We stayed in one of the double rooms on the ground floor. Although this room does not gave an outside area like the others we really enjoyed staying in it. The bed in the room is amazing and looks quite new!

Breakfast is served every morning on the terrace which is beautiful. It is basically the same everyday...croissants, gam, jam, bread, coffee etc but you can pay for extras like eggs. They also do lunch and dinner and you just need to let them know in advance. The food is more expensive than in the town for example but they do have to source it in. If you are on a budget then I would suggest eating out.

The owners and staff made the holiday very enjoyable. Nothing was ever too much trouble and we felt very well looked after :)

They have an honesty bar that you can serve yourself from and lay at the end of your stay. We sat up quite late most nights so it came in handy!

The location is about 3km from Sant Carles, so someone will need to be designated driver if you intend to eat and drink out. I highly recommend Bar Anita. The food is great, cheap and is always busy for breakfast, lunch or dinner. They have a bar also if you are just looking for a drink.

The best beaches around the location are; Cala Boix, Cala Niu Blau and Cala Mastella. I highly recommend El Bigote restaurant at Cala Mastella....amazing fish, wine and atmosphere.

All in all it was a very lovely relaxed holiday. We would definitely consider going back. Highly recommend it to others who are looking for experience in Ibiza!

Room Tip: It depends on your budget. They are all beautiful but the range in price is quite significant!

We held our wedding here in June 2013 and had an amazing time. We hired the whole hotel for 5 days and stayed there with family and bridesmaids. The food was simple but well made. Fruit or ham and cheese for breakfast with ample croissants and pastries with as much coffee, tea and juice as you like. We had a buffett lunch one day and it was beautiful, colourful salads, cheeses, breads and meats. Order in advance though - food can take his time on the island.

The TT Suite and Sunflower suite are both gorgeous rooms. The other bedrooms are clean and comfortable, but less show stopping. The stone walled room, the small courtyard room and the detached garden room are particularly charming though. Can Talaias is a beautiful house up a long steep drive. You need to hire a car unless you want to be mainly based at the hotel. It is great for chilling out.

The owners Cushan and Letty are friendly and helpful and happy to stay up late to help you check in (Thank you!) and give you ideas on where to eat - Babylon was a great recommendation!

The wedding day itself at Can Talaias was faultless, Vicky from EAT Ibiza is highly recommended and helped us to achieve our dream day at this beautiful venue. The pool is a focal point and has recently been renovated - it is a great spot.

You will have a happy and relaxing stay if you choose Can Talaias for your holiday - or like us, your Wedding.

Room Tip: TT or Sunflower but if just two of you to save ££ the garden room or courtyard room.

I've basically run out of superlatives to describe our Can Talaias experience and felt compelled to write a review.....

We're just back from having our wedding at Can Talaias and spending 4 days at the hotel with our family and friends and I can say without question that it was the 4 best days of our lives! We hired the whole hotel for the duration of the 4 days and all the rooms were of a very high standard with every room clean, fresh and tastefully decorated (with a definite nod to the film heritage of Terry Thomas). The environment is stupendous, set in the hills close to San Carlos with a fantastic view to the sea from the patio area. The pool and gardens are also excellent, particularly for kids (we had 5 with us) and they were all overwhelmed by the beauty and magic of the hotel.

Most importantly, the owners Cushan and Laetitia were absolutely fantastic from start to finish, with every request catered for with no fuss or hassle. They're also 2 of the nicest and most welcoming people we've ever met and were only to happy to chat with us about our stay and provide recommendations for the continuation of our honeymoon - a couple of legends!

All in all, I just can't speak highly enough of Can Talaias it was a once in a lifetime experience for myself, my new wife and our family. The perfect place for our wedding celebrations - Thank you Cushan and Laetitia. xx

Room Tip: The Terry Thomas suite and the Sunflower Room are both outstanding.

My husband and I recently got married at Can Talaias and we could not have hoped for a better venue that empitimises everything we love about Ibiza!
Laeti and Cushan are such warm people and as we looked out over the shades and vibrant greens of the pines and the azure Med sparkling in the distance the inevitable pre-wedding stress disappeared.
The rooms and hotel are decorated in a timeless and simple Ibicencan style and the soft edges of the Finca offers natural lights and effortless beauty.
We look forward to seeing Laeti and Cushan again as friends (or dog sitters, we love Cuba!!) in their slice of paradise!

Cass and Matt xxx

Room Tip: Every room has it charms but there is something charming about sleeping in the circular Terry Thomas...

We are so pleased we found and booked this place. And we'll be going back! Wonderful views, lovely house and gardens, pool, hammocks, terrace. The owners are wonderful and make you feel at home. Gorgeous food, lovely rooms. It's hard to actually explain how nice this place is. You set foot into the hotel and you're instantly in a clam and blissful place where everyday life is somewhere else. Now if that's not what you want from a holiday I don't know what is.
Part of me would like to keep this place a secret, it's that good!

Room Tip: there's only 7 rooms so do't delay in booking they get busy!

This lovley place used to be the house of Terry Thomas from the Carry On films so it combines the charm of a huge finca, stunning views over forest to the see and vintage 60s film posters with real charm. The owner (Thomas' son) and his wife are very welcoming hosts and food and drinks were delicious. They are very talented gardeners so there are flourishing plants everywhere and the walled pool area is a stunning space to while away an afternoon overlooking the stunning view.

Highly recommended.

Room Tip: The huge suite is stunning, we stayed in a stone room in the garden across from the finca and near t...

Arrived close to midnight but staff greeted us personally and escorted us to a breathtakingly beautiful room and then prepared a tapas tray for two with a bottle of wine! No question about this gesture setting a fabulous tone for our stay. Next morning I stepped ontot he balcony and was overwhelmed by the view of the mountains and the Med. The open windows in the bed and bathrooms with panoramic views and gentle breezes rendered everything ultra relaxing and mellow. We were served breakfast each morning in the terrazo courtyard with a choice of open air or market umbrellas, awnings or trees for shade. We strolled throught the colorul trees and gardens dotted with peacocks, parakeets and ever present salamanders. Refreshments and meals were always available upon request and always fresh and of high quality. I couldn't imagine how our stay could have been any better. It was far better than staying in Eivisse itself although the town made for a nice day trip. Have to give this place an unqualified, unconditional thumbs way up!
