First Impressions: Efficient Reception. Checking in took 2 minutes. (I can never understand how it can take some hotels 20 minutes to check in for someone they have all the details for).
Very friendly staff

Very Clean hotel throughout. Nice pool area with plenty of sunbeds (No need to get up at 6 am every morning to book a sunbed here).
Very few Brits at this hotel when we were there, but it wasn't a problem.

Food generally good standard and a good selection every morning and night. Bar meals during the day by the pool which were pretty substantial. We like our food but probably a bit too big for just a lunchtime snack.

One small snag. We like to have a walk in the evening and there wasn't anywhere to have a pleasant walk other than down a rather badly paved street to some shops and bars. But this was compensated as you can catch a bus to the Rhodes for 2.20 Euros. It's about 20 mins to Rhodes Town, but the bus can be busy. Taxi to Rhodes Town is 9 Euros with taxis and bus stop just outside the hotel.

Must admit I did suffer from backache in my bed, but I had backache before I went so I can't blame the hotel. So it may be me. But I haven't suffered since I got back. As I didn't tell the hotel they didn't have chance to do anything about it. I felt the beds were comfortable at the time, but.....

We had the odd issue with the balcony door , but this was very promptly fixed so no complaints with the hotel dealing with any issues.

There are quite a few steps in the hotel. so wouldn't recommend for those who can't walk well. although lifts & ramps are available.

You can catch a bus to Faliraki, but wouldn't recommend!

All in all, Very good hotel with nice rooms, well maintained, clean and good food. You could do a lot worse.

Room Tip: Room 630-634 are on the same level as the restaurant - so easy trip to breakfast and also have a good view over the pool.

On arrival at the hotel, i had a warm welcome from a man carrying my bags to reception. When at reception, after the two ladies there finished smirking and grinning at us for no apparent reason, they eventually gave us our keycards.

The room was decent and very clean. The first night, me and my girlfriend decided we would endure the hotel entertainment. This consisted of a man with one of those child's keyboards that plays beats and a microphone. Although at first i did enjoy the 'Borat' Impressions of 'mambo no.5' and various other english classics, it started to get very dry very quick.

The bar staff were always very talkative, especially one individual. Lynos was a lovely chap, he was full of conversation, especially to my girlfriend... well... JUST my girlfriend. As i sat there at the tables waiting on my pint, i watched as Lynos bounced from table to table, wife to wife, chatting them all up. Eventually he got round to giving me my drink, which i then necked so i could pay, get my change and leave. oh wait, i did not get my change, he must of assumed it was a tip when i was clearly waiting for it. Tip him well enough he will probably service your wife free of charge.

After grabbing my girlfriend and putting her away in a safe place away from Lynos, i thought i would have a walk round the hotel now i knew my relationship was safe as the Borat impersonator singing the songs closed down the disco. The view of the pool was very nice at night so the next day we decided to check out the pool to see if it was just as nice in the day.

Me and my girlfriend arrived at the pool, just as i was sinking into my sun bed, our best friend Lynos could be spotted walking around the pool bar, chatting up everything with a pulse. It seems its not just relationship status that does not phase him, but age as well. After watching him flex about the bar in his tight shirt devouring women like Ricky Martin on viagra, i started to resent the guy and do everything to avoid him. I think he clocked on with this because he stopped paying me any attention at the bar when i wanted drinks. If my wife took her shirt off though i am sure he would of served us in a flash.

When we went to eat in the restaurant there, we were surrounded by stares which made us feel awkward and my girlfriend choke on her food. I am guessing its because we were the only english people there. I made sure we both filled up at the buffets, the more we ate i figured, the less germans that would be able to get around us in the queues, and the less attractive my girlfriend would look to Lynos, i made sure i filled her up good and proper so she looked like 'Adele' after a food binge, by the next time we went to the pool bar.

The rest of the holiday was pretty boring. It was certainly a very relaxing holiday, i think i spent most of it sleeping, with one eye open of course checking my girlfriend was safe.

Overall the place was nice and relaxing, the hotel boring, the bar staff horny and the reception rude. We would definitely return to Rhodes, but not the hotel. :)

Room Tip: The room furthest away from Lynos.

This was my first ever time abroad and from my overall experience in the Kresten Palace, it has me itching to get back on a plane to Rhodes.
First impressions: Well we arrived when it was dark although in the light it looked great and the views were stunning. The reception area was fantastic. Everywhere looked clean and shiny and impressive.
Rooms: Our first room was a little inappropriate as we were given a family room (1 entrance, two rooms). We spoke to the man at reception the next morning and were moved to two separate rooms almost immediately. Our rooms were much more practical and still had (if not better than previous) a fantastic sea view. The cleaners were great. Leave a top out and see what they do. Its just that little bit extra to make you smile. We left a tip for them because they were extremely friendly and very efficient.
Food: Im VERY fussy when it comes to food. But im happy to say the food was fantastic. It is buffet style and there was a huge choice of different meaty dishes, vegie dishes, and AWESOME desserts. There was surely always something for everyone. Although anyone wanting to come here dont get petty when asked to wear trousers at dinner time. No Vest tops either. I think its much more pleasant eating dinner not having to see blokes in their budgie smugglers. That'd put me right off my bangers and mash. Oh yeah and breakfast was pretty good too. (Wheres the haggis and black pudding? ! :p only joking)
Spa: we dont think it had one but if it did im sure it would be amazing. The Kresten Royal next door had the full works and from what i hear well worth the money (even the cheap ones)
Service: THANK YOU IRENE the bar waitress at night, you made our holiday much more enjoyable thanks to your great service and lovely smile. We were served by her every night of our stay. My mother in law had a particular drink (metaxa and ban lemonade...TRY IT its fantastic) and most nights I had Mythos (again really good beer) and every night Irene knew what we wanted before we had even ordered. The other (Older) Bartender and another younger bar waiter were both excellent as well. The pool bar was pretty efficient too and the food was absolutely excellent. Massive portions too.
Activities: GO to the greek night. Its the best night. Other than that the pool is pretty good, there a crazy golf...thing there (needs a bit of a makeover but still fun), about 5mins walk straight down the hill will take you to a small beach and clear blue seawater. There are a couple of shops about 5mins walk down the road as well where things are pretty cheap. The waterpark is 11euro in a taxi away which is well worth it. (cheaper to go by taxi most places) Rhodes town is about 10euro too. If a german or a guy from dundee visits you by the pool to go scuba diving...definitely take up their offer...especially beginners. Its safe, controlled and fantastic value for money.
IF YOUR GOING TO RHODES. STAY HERE. ITS GREAT. :)
especially the service

Loved Loved Loved !!!! this holiday(.God-bless Groupon)
The experience had me for the very first time saying when can i get back here for another holiday!! Would have never chosen half-board had it not been a last minute deal, but brill food quality exceptional (that is definately a first)

Only 1 single complaint the room was brilliant but we had the view that looked onto the old farm machinery that has obviously been there for years. Not a major problem obviously not on the hotels property,So maybe some tall trees need to be planted to hide this,Still is a stunning view onto the sea.Did it spoil my holiday absolutely NOT!!

The staff are all great, helpful, soo friendly.Don't listen to the Greece problems either not once did i have problems getting service or money.Just have to wait now to get back to this Gem of a Hotel.

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for room with sea view, but not 851 or rooms beside as they look onto old discarded junk!!!i

Choosing a hotel is so difficult, it can make your holidays the best ever or spoil all your trip.
I cannot recommend enough Kresten Palace!

The hotel is very big, but from the moment you enter, you are met with the kindness and interest like you, and you alone, are the most important on the world. Every person has a real VIP treatment. Every staff member has time for you and they will go extra 100 miles to make sure you are happy and comfortable.
We travelled with a 1 year old baby, and he was so welcomed and so entertained! Wonderful restaurant staff played with him and fed him so we could enjoy our meal as well! That was such a blessing!

Hotel is fully air-conditioned, so inside is a nice and cool air; the walls must be very thick as our neighbours were surprised seeing our baby - they didn't hear him at all crying at night. Swimming pool is large and clean, never feels crowded. There are playgrounds for children and beautiful alleys to walk around the hotel. The view around is truly spectacular.

Every evening there is some entertainment in a hotel, you can enjoy live music, maybe greek Evening with dancing group, games, anything. There is a playroom and gym opened 24/7.

The food in a hotel is pure delight - there is such a massive choice that there is no way you will try everything! You can easily taste nice and fresh local ingridients. The service is impressively smooth and quick.

Rooms are reasonable size - ours had a queen bed and a cot and there was still enough place for a baby to run play. They are very clean and nicely arranged. All rooms have air conditioning as well.

Hotel is located a 30 minutes bus drive to Rodos and 1 hour to Lindos, but be aware that the buses are not very frequent anywhere in Rodos. For further journeys it's worth to rent a car (again - hassle free hire from a hotel, good choice of cars and with a brilliant advice on where to go). Make sure you press the button "stop" in a bus when approaching your hotel!

Well, I could keep on praising and praising our holidays and fantastic hotel :) Every day and every moment were simply - EXCELLENT!!!

Room Tip: I would choose again the room we had - close to the restaurant with a sea view and a balcony.
