“Best Budget Resort!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 11, 2013

We stayed at Samui Beach Resort for 4 nights and loved it! The bungalows and rooms are set in a lush tropical garden which are a few steps away from the beach.

Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean. By the time we came back from breakfast, the room was already serviced, we couldn't have asked for more.

And the pool was perfect! You could lounge in and around the pool while overlooking the beach. And with the restaurant right by the pool, you could enjoy great food while taking in the views.

The owner and staff were very friendly and efficient. Anything we needed was dealt with straight away (information, bookings, etc).

If you want to get away from it all, this is the place to stay. Our only regret is not being able to stay longer!

We stayed here for 4 nights and could not be more impressed by this place. It is set in a very quiet part of town, near the Grandfather and Grandmother rocks and has the most amazing pool and beach right on your door step.

The rooms are located amongst a tropical garden with some great statues along the way. They were very big, super clean and comfortable. The food at the restaurant was fantastic and right by the beach.

The owner and staff were very helpful and friendly and even gave us a lift into town one afternoon.
We will def come back and visit them again one day!

This was the worst place I ever stayed.

Super unfriendly staff, we arrive and there was 3 huge geckos in our room and soldier ants all over the place.
The room is super old, even older furniture and the curtains where full of stains.

Ok, so we decided ok.. Let's try and head to the swimming pool, and they where doing construction works there - super noisy! We went to talk with the manager about it and she said it was ok it was normal because you are expected to have noise everywhere in a resort. Her words!

About the geckos she said that they would eventually go away and there was no problem about that. To help the beach where the "resort" is located has a open sewer to the beach, that drains to the sand right where you are suppose to chill on the pool area, that's what you get.

The swimming pool was sooooooo dirty, and the matress where full of rubshis and thick dust, wheren't clean in ages for sure!

Worst we had to pay for the stay, we asked to cancel but they carged us for 1day still - we had just arrived 1h before. Just the time to see all this mess and give up on the place!

There is also not much to see around the area.

Room Tip: Do not stay at this place, there are some other places around we end up staying on a nice bungallow h...

We wanted to stay in Samui Beach Resort for two days and then go on to koh Tao. We fell in love with this place and ended up staying a week ! The Resort is laid back, the staff are friendly and the food comes really quick every time and is amazing. The owner of the place is really friendly and go a long way, longer than most, to help out and make one feel comfortable. We talk to several of the other guests and two guys kept coming back to this place because they "had checked out a lot of places and that this was definitely the best and most value for the money place on Koh Samui at the moment"
We stayed in a pretty big fan room with our own little patio. there is a nice pool on the beach, free sun chairs and small bamboo huts with a thatched roof if you want to stay in the shade! All in all we would definitely stay here again !

was here 1 year ago. See review below. Management changed. Some additional improvements (new fridge, new ac). Otherwise, perfect as always. And extremely competitive cost wise, if compared with other hotels offering similar facilities. Checked, but could not find a better deal ;)!
Location is grand - quiet, out of the road, very green, 3 min to 2 supermarkets and to bike rental and street vendors, 1 min to beach, good restaurant, large rooms with change of bedsheets and towels every day, clean. Pool small but great, on the beach, beach with free towels, umbrellas and beds. Excellent sea. Very safe for kids.

Nice rooms, nice area, lovely staff. The main waitress in the restaurant seemed to hate us because we asked for banana and coconut shakes with no milk - we still liked her though! We couldn't really swim in the sea when we were there - way too choppy but lovely all the same. We got upgraded when we arrived.

Room Tip: The air vents in the bathrooms have holes in them - check them before you take the room because cree...

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 5 nights travelling around Thailand and it was well worth the stay. Beach was fantastic for swimming and snorkelling. Beach chairs beside the pool were so comfortable and relaxing. Pool wasn't the cleanest so we swam in the sea, no complaints there. Restaurant food was really good and reasonably priced. The service was lacking as some waitstaff were rude and didn't acknowledge any english. But still enjoyed our meals and cocktails. Lamai beach has a great fire show at the Spin Bar which is a 10 minute beach walk away from Samui Beach Resort. Wifi in rooms worked well and were cleaned daily. No safe box on the rooms so if you want to lock up money or passports, the reception desk has a community lock box. Would stay here again for sure.
