My husband & I stayed here for 12 wonderful nights. We stayed in Villa D which was approx 5 steps from the best kept pool I have ever been in. Our Villa was modern & kept very clean by the lovely, very friendly room attendants. The massages were to die for.(proper deep muscle, pretzel twisting massages.) perfect setting overlooking the beach and the prices were in comparison to outside of the resort. We had 2 massages down the road for the same price as the resort but the quality was no where on par to the Thai house. Don't bother going anywhere else. Our biggest decision for the day was beach first or poolside first. In the end it didn't matter we did both. All the staff were attentive, super friendly and very supportive of my husband as he tried his hand learning to speak thai. ( I think they are still laughing) This wonderful beach resort is only steps away from the corner general store, bars, two of the best restaurants I have been too. #1 Big wave & #2 Magic restaurant ( located right next door). We are already planning our return visit to The Thai house beach resort.

The photos and the description of this hotel are very misleading. We were celebrating a very special occasion and so requested a lovely room - what we actually got was a tiny, dirty room overlooking a leaking water tank. Hugely disappointing. They moved us to a slightly bigger, but still grubby room with walls so thin that we were woken 5 times in the night by party goers returning from their nights out.
We were supposed to stay for 10 nights but we got out as quickly as we could after 2 - suggest you save yourself the trouble and avoid this hotel at all costs!!

We stayed here for our honey moon in June. It took me awhile to decide on a hotel in the area and after staying here and seeing what was around, which it is a nice island i was very very pleased with my choice. It was the perfect setting, on the ocean, great beach, clean, quiet, relaxing, beauty subdue property, just steps away from everything if you want to venture out. I reccommend a villa, more space, more privacy, very clean and i love the bamboo, ac was fine, maid service on point, clean, no bugs, pool so nice always chairs no need to rush or fight, nice laid back crowd, all service was friendly and happy and attentive, and the breakfast was amazing every choice possible, american food, thai food, all fresh and delicous!! you can not go wrong with this hotel, its perfect oh and get a massage at hotel, no need to go on the street for a bit cheaper, my husband went to both and said hotel was better, and come on its like 9-10 bucks an HOUR we got 2 massages a day!!

Room Tip: Villa was close to beach, and spacious

This was a great hotel. We stayed here for 5 days in a bungalow. It was not a very big room but the location was excellent. Room was clean and had a nice patio. We were right beside the pool so were still able to enjoy while our 3 year old napped. Food & drinks were excellent. Breakfast buffet very good. Close walk to everything. The food in the Lamai market area was awesome! I am still dreaming about the delicious soups, curries & samosas (& was it ever cheap!!).

A great place to stay. Stayed for 5 nights and it was great. Booked this resort due to the good reviews and wasn't disappointed. A great place with a great beach and good food. Happy hour was popular (5-7pm) and all meals were resonably priced. If you want cheaper meals it is only a very short walk to a great variety in the main street. We stayed in a villa and it was worth every cent. Pool was not super large but good. Great sunlounges on both the beach and around the pool. They have a great idea for the beach towels, all you need to do is leave them out at night and you get new ones delivered to your door.
Rooms also have great airconditioning which is important. Don't miss the excellent priced massages.

Room Tip: if you can afford it go for the villas

We stayed in a beach front villa (villa A) for 12 nights between the 4th and 15th of June. We were picked up efficiently from the airport, offered mineral water (a welcome touch) and whizzed away to the hotel a 30 minute or so drive.
Check in was good. The front of the hotel and reception area is plain but once you walk down to the beach front you understand why you choose this resort. It is right on Lamai beach, really a lovely spot and the beach area in front of this hotel is as good as it gets on the whole of Lamai.
This is a 3 star resort and I am rating it with that in mind, it isn't fancy, don't come here to be pampered, it is as good as I believe you could realistically expect a 3 star resort to be.
There was a good spread at breakfast, we didn't get bored and I don't think that I would of even if stayed much longer. The lunch and dinner menu were OK and food was OK and fairly expensive compared to what you pay in the street. But, the location can't be beaten and the tables that they set up on the beach at night are really nice. It was lovely to sit out under the stars on the beach and enjoy some nice fish and a few beers.
We had a couple of minor maintenance issues in the room and these were fixed promptly and without fuss.
If you can afford it we would recommend the beach front villa which was good value in low season. Villa A doesn't have a lot of privacy, Villa C would be better for that but it does have great views of the beach and it is easy to pull to the curtain if you want some privacy. We didn't see the rooms at the back of the hotel but imagine that our experience was heavily influenced by the location of our room, we loved it.
We didn't have a problem with beach loungers but it was low season so not sure how they cope in the high season. The local people selling on the beach are a treat, Mr Jack sells really great pineapple, mango and roasted corn, you can buy ice-cream and spring rolls, no one is pushy just be polite.
Didn't think too much of Lamai itself, it is standard Thailand beach street stuff, the night market is OK and well priced, very popular with the tourists.
We had a great time and if we went back to Samui would consider staying here again.

Room Tip: Villa A is prime beachfront, Villa C for a bit more privacy

7 day stay in a room that was basic but very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful - they even transferred us to the next resort in Bho Phut free of charge very nice gesture.
The best bit about this is the location - right on a very nice part of Lamai beach which also has easy access to the main street with bars and food but still feels very secluded and relaxing.

Within walking distance of all amenities, good bars and great food - didn't experience one bad meal the whole time we were there. We enjoyed eating at
The Patio - great location with views out onto the beach

Salathai on main street in Lamai- pricer than some of the other restaurants but not expensive with a great menu choice

The Shamrock bar - nice when you fancy a change from Thai or a spot of lunch
Walking Street on Sunday evening - most stalls have food and drink - lots of atmosphere and nice to try Thai street food never mind the delicious 50TBH cocktails.

Lots of things to do whatever you fancy but thankfully not as busy as Chawang but near enough to taxi if you feel the need.

On the beach infront of the hotel Mr Jack does a great fresh mango 60 TBH and pineapple 50 TBH. Delicious for a snack or if you fancy savory he does corn on the cob.

The Villas at the Thai Beach looked very nice but some were not very private with other guests walking past so choose carefully when booking.

The breakfast choice was good with the restaurant overlooking the beach divine and a great start to the day.

Would definitely stay there again if looking for a nice beach side location without the hassle of Chawang.

Room Tip: We had a basic garden view room and it was fine - had a very private balcony which was nice
