“Idyllic...stunning gardens...amazing atmosphere and setting for children”

Rockys pride themselves on being like family and one could be cynical and think that's just marketing spin but we can confirm its as genuine as can be.

We booked a 2 room villa for our family of 5, 3 adults and 3 kids for 8 nights. From the moment we arrived we have been overwhelmed with how perfect this place is for a family. I can be quite critical when required and I have struggled to find ANYTHING to complain about. My brother got married during the week and it was easily one of the most beautiful weddings I have attended. The pools are wonderful for all the kids from toddler to preschooler to 7 year old - and as parents we were well catered for too! The food is excellent and the staff are incredible. Breakfasts are an absolute highlight. As much as we have wanted to explore, this has been the most perfect holiday right here at the resort. The kids have had so much fun from swimming, to kayaking, to playing on the beach to being spoilt rotten in the kids room.

We chose the villa for the kitchen so we could feed the kids when we wanted and have more space. We weren't disappointed. The Tescos in Lamai has everything you need.

Oh the photo opportunities alone!

If you have the chance do not miss this place. It is incredibly special.

Room Tip: Villa is phenomenal. Located close to pools and with own at door you want to swim while the kids ar...

This family of four with 2 girls aged 2 & 5 absolutely loved Rockys for our 6 night stay. The girls thought they arrived in fairyland with the impressive night lighting and beautiful gardens. The pools were very inviting and our position on the beach front was amazing with what felt like our own private beach. The rooms were expertly designed and decorated where everything seems to have been thought of. The room maybe slightly cramped but the massive bathroom made up for it. The bistro breakfast was 5 star in location and quality although maybe the serving staff should realise that westerners usually have cereal first then the hot bacon n eggs after. Sometimes the cereal and hot food was all bought out at once which is fine but the plates are so huge that it makes it impossible to fit everything on the table…. but really these are minor details as the food quality is top notch and the Bistro ambience sublime. Lucas was very welcoming and knowledgeable in giving us daily ideas for activities and all of the staff made our girls feel very special which we will always remember fondly.
We will return to Rockys.

Room Tip: Beach front rooms for ideal location - Villas if need more room

We stayed at Rocky's in a 2 story villa with my kids 7,9 & 10. The accomodation was exceptional heaps of space & practical for a family as well as being luxurious.
My elderly parents met us there from the UK & stayed in a garden villa which again was perfect for them.
The breakfast as has been said,is amazing & cooked to order.
The pools are great & not crowded so if you want peace & quiet away from kids it can be found.
The food in the restaurants is pricey but great & worth the money! There are so many restaurants in nearby Lamai to choose from if you want a cheaper option & only 200 baht in a cab. There are some cheaper restaurants within walking distance from the resort however the road is busy & can be treacherous due to speeding traffic.
Lucas the guest relations manager was present every morning at breakfast & happy to answer any queries or make suggestions on ways to spend the day.
Whilst there we did the island driving tour & went on the hotel boat the Josephine. The driving tour I wouldn't recommend & the Josephine was not ideal for the elderly. Having to walk over submerged broken coral as there was no wharf & the fact that there are no toilets available anywhere during the trip is not suitable for
everyone.
There is unlimited free wifi throughout the entire resort great for email, skype & viber.
All the staff were especially friendly & attentive, & a nice touch was the meet & greet cocktail night where you got to have a chat with them.
I would not hesitate to recommend this resort to anyone.
Good luck with reaching 1000 reviews Martin!

Rocky's where to begin. Heck - it's ALL superlatives.

One finds Rocky's a short distance after the radical road (4169) is heading north - at the South end of Samui and Rocky's sits in its own landscaped jungle on your right (the sea side).

Look for the Red Flags/ Banners - yes - first time it is easy to miss the gate.

At the Upper Car Park (all the West Coast is mountain goat country) you can take a "buggee", roughly translated as a golf buggy down to the restaurants on the beach.

The Rooms are varied and lovely, the seaviews beautiful. On the beach is a really nice bar, one of those circular ones where it is easy to meet other guests. After sunset, Rocky's is not really the place to dine in Tshirt, shorts and flip flops.
Dressing up to dine at Rocky's is definitely part of the charm.

Rooms - lovely.
Beach. Mostly granite boulders with a smidgeon of sand between. Having said that - it is a wonderful beach. Can you snorkel? Ye--ess - but - due to the shallow water - it is a bit murky.
Restaurants. Two - excellent - Thai and European.

Staff: A hotel staff to dream about. They are beyond excellent. They LOOK for ways to improve that which is close to perfect.
If you are used to =the standard awful service in Europe - then Rocky's lets you know that there ARE places on the planet where you - the guest are the hotel's raison d'etre.

Price: Rocky's is mid-expensive - but excellent value. Truly, you get more than you paid for.

Oh, Weddings.
Rocky's exudes Romance - it is just so amazingly beautiful and the hotel has a flawless reputation for arranging everything from the Marriage service, local documentation, the Wedding itself - complete - if you wish - with Thai dancers and drummers, a riot of beautiful flowers, music and of course, the Wedding feast for your guests.

I think for all restaurants and hotels in Europe a stay at Rocky's should be obligatory - just to show the way it should be done - for the guest.

Room Tip: If you are into a special event - like a Wedding or Anniversary Party - contact their Events Manager...

I highly recommend staying at Rocky's. The resort is perfect: A nice location, lovely rooms, fantastic view, great food and really good service. The staff members are so friendly and nice to be around. The only thing missing is a gym at the resort.

Thank you, we have an average of 65 weddings a year here, but when it comes to doing something romantic like dining on the beach, we can do that too. My staff are great, because they love to do it, they feel so proud when they read these reviews.

we got married at rocky's on 9th September 2013 in a Buddhist ceremony. the whole thing was fantastic. ann, the wedding planner took care of everything leaving us stress free. all of the staff were very polite, always smiling. all of our wedding guests loved it. rooms were very clean. food was good. the decorations for the wedding and honey moon suite were stunning. it felt personal rather than just another wedding for them. we hope to go back next year for our anniversary!

I had a great stay at this hotel, dining options well above par for Samui. The service standard is 5 star without a doubt. When i arrived to check in, i discovered that i had made an error with dates for my booking...i was 1 week late (this was my first o/s trip booked all via internet.....no excuse i know). I was horrified, as i had booked an ocean view suite for 5 nights. Well, the girl in reception did everything she could to rectify the problem....she made a few phone calls and got approval from management to honour my booking...4 out of 5 nights (they were fully booked when i arrived). They even organised a room at another hotel for me....and dropped me off, with pick up the following day! This impressed me, as they did not have to honour this, due to my error.
The hotel is perfect for couples....even though i travelled alone, i still felt comfortable. Food and beverage prices were high, but this is expected with any resort stay. Cocktails were reasonable. My tip would be to walk 5 mins down the road to hire a scooter - 150 bht per day!.....cheap as. The ride into lamai beach takes less than 10 mins....heaps of food and drink options. Massages are also cheaper in lamai beach...300 bht for an oil massage....1 hour.
To top off my stay, on the last morning one of the staff in the breakfast area offered to drop me off into Bophut...which is 35 mins by car.....at no charge....usually 600 bht. Very generous and accommodating! I highly recommend this place.

Room Tip: Pay extra for ocean front suites.....well worth it!
