This is an excellent hotel in a great location. We had a downstairs spa room with its own jacuzzi bath in the courtyard. the room was really cool and the jacuzzi bath just great to come back to after a day on the beach or a busy day out and about. The staff were very friendly and helpful although not as good as others in Thailand we have experienced. The location of the hotel is brilliant. it is just 5 mins walk down the main street to find many bars/restaurants but this is far enough away for the hotel to be peaceful. The food and drink in the hotel are very expensive as you would expect, so we loved eating at Black Diamond and Bauhaus and for a drink, the Pochahontas Bar close to the hotel was great or the Chill Bar on the Beach just next to The Bikini Bar. We had a great time on Koh Samui and we really enjoyed staying at this hotel.

Have got to admit - this hotel is not cheap. In fact, it's pretty pricey. However, it's the best hotel on Lamai. Nothing comes close. Walking distance to shopping district, and restaurants etc.

It's not the hotel to stay at for budget travellers, beers are around 200BHT, but for a honeymoon, or special occassion - I cannot recommend it enough!

Don't use their spa - just walk onto the beach to the friendly Thai girls and get your massage for 250BHT. Don't eat in their restaurant (good but dear), try the markets - Pad Thai 40BHT.

We spent 5 nights with my wife and a couple of friends.
The hotel is definitely on the high side.

+
Modern design
Room is really good looking and well equiped, beautiful private pools
A/C rather silent (not always the case in Thailand)
Located in the middle of Lamai beach
Helpful reception : organised for us a nice boat trip and a car rental, and were helpful with a difficult taxi hiring and drive. All this at decent rate.
Really good restaurant, beautiful spa
-
Service could be better. Staff are not always as smiling and kind as anywhere else in Thailand. May be because it's Samui, that is not like Thailand mainland.
Lamai "nightlife" starts 10mn walking distance from the hotel. If you don't want to know or to see you can. And for those interested ... it's not so far
Lack of beach mattresses : many hotel guests put their towels on them as early as 7AM, before their breakfast just to "book" them !!

When we decided to get married in Koh Samui I spoke to every resort / hotel on the entire Island. I went from every option, we could have had the wedding in one place and then stayed at another resort but when we found the Samui Pavilion we decided that we would have our wedding day there and stay there as it was just so beautiful.
We spent 7 days at the resort, treated like royality. We also had all of our guests stay with us (so a total of 19 people) stayed at the resort.
Not one person had one complaint.
All the staff, Jessada in particular was fantastic. They put the whole wedding together just as we asked. We never had to check on anything and they always told us what was going on. And all the preperation was done by email from Australia. They organised flowers, hair, make up, everything you could imagine. They let us serve our own Moet champagine that everyone brought with them duty free.
The room was amazing. The night of the wedding they decorated it in the most classy way with rose petals on the bed and in the bathtub which they set up for us. AMAZING!!! Try getting this level of service anywhere else in the world. And always with a smile.
It was our 1st wedding anniversary last week and we went back to Koh Samui to celebrate it. We of course went to the Pavilion and everyone remembered us. It's such a nice feeling to go somewhere and know they actually are genuine about their feelings about you and not just doing it because it's their job!
If you read any negative reviews about the resort check the date because in 2005 and 2006 they were doing a refurbishment on the resort so it was a little messy and noisy but today it is amazing, beautiful, modern with tradition Thai style. Just amazing... and I'm very fussy.. when I check into a hotel I always check the room before I take my bags up because usually the room isnt good enough. But this was ever the case at the Samui Pavilion. Enjoy your stay you will not be dissapointed!

This is a lovely little hotel located on a nice beach at Koh Samui in the reasonable price range and with all the amenities. The rooms/facilites are spacious and modern, the pool & breakfast was a decent size and the package we got was superb for this quality of hotel (I don't wish to accent price too much but this place is really a nice place for a fabulous price). We came with extended family of grandparents & kids aged 9/10 years. I felt this hotel had all we needed and we had a relaxing family break with whatever we wanted v handy.

Happy Honeymooners staying 4 nights in October.

We were a bit apprehensive when we first pulled up- The front of the hotel is a little ugly with low hanging power lines and ugly neighbors. They would definitely benefit from an added side fascade to cover the tin from next door. There was also construction across the street and in the hotel itself. We were worried about the noise, but once to our room it was not an issue even when outside enjoying the pool- The lobby is designed challenged to say the least. The odd 60's modern furniture mixed in with traditional Thai architecture is certainly not a good look. Smooth check in with welcome drink and cool towel. We purchased the 7 day internet access which we had daily trouble with. We expected some sort of refund or discount due to the inconveinence especially since we only used it for four days with headache. But we were not refunded. Also they wouldn't give us a Honeymoon discount on our late check out of 6pm even though they were not full. ( charged an exrtra 2000 baht) I know they don't have to- but it would have been nice especially since we spent that extra time in their bar and restaurant. Oh well-

We had the hydro pool room which is cutely designed with a king size bed and daybed. There is a flat screen TV and ipod docking station. Not large, but enough room to get around. Two bottles of complimentary water and stocked mini bar. The closet could definitely use a dresser or drawers. I personally hate stacking all my clothes out on one shelf. The shower was a little odd at first directly in front of the toilet with only the cloth curtain separating it. Nice rainshower head though. You had the option to open the door and shower with fresh air and a view of your pool. You may have to be a bit of an exhibitionist though, because the other rooms on the second floor may get a peek. My husband and I made the mistake of swimming u'natural thinking we were alone. But he caught two naughty girls taking photos from their balcony! Can't really prove they were taking photos of us but I found it just RUDE and creepy. We absolutely loved our "backyard" with excellent pool with jets, relaxing daybed and table with umbrella.

The buffet breakfast was great. Lots of choices and fresh omelete and roti station. Yum- The waitstaff were always eager to please. Not the best English but if they didn't understand they would find someone that could. Always plenty of staff too. There were six waiters in the bar during slow lunch time- The Patio (dinner) restaurant was excellent. A bit pricey compared to others but very tastey. Room service was quick and cheap. Even the pizza was good.

The pool ( little small) and beach were nice. They have nicely padded loungers and umbrellas. The sand is a little rough but still better than others.

We didn't try the spa as directly next door there was a open air sala massage with REALLY cheap good massages on the beach. The prices and the hotel spa seemed really high. They did give us free 15 minute coupon though we didn't find the time to use it. The treatment rooms did look nice.

All-in -all a very enjoyable time and good hotel as long as you get a decent rate. Agodadotcom had the cheapest by far.

We used Blue Planet Dive Centre for a discovery scuba course and was the best dive center I had ever used!! blueplanetdivecentredotcom They are one minute walk from the hotel and the best on the island. Not only are they the cheapest, but they will only take 3 people per dive master, have an impeccable safety record and speak perfect English as they are from UK. They even gave us a free ride to the ferry with them in their jeep.( saving us 1000 baht). I think the Thai resorts may not be quick to recommend them because they are "farangs" (foreigners). But they really deserve the business over the crowded, expensive, shady, Thai dive centers. Enjoy!

Ridiculos hotel !!! I've had been here for 4 days paying 18000 baht a day for their best room then on the day I check out i had to pay 150 baht for the ash tray my Gf broke accidentally.

The hotel is getting old , no privacy and a lot of noices from the beach during night time. More than a boutique hotel should be a 3 star hotel for the poor services available for the guests and for the incompetence of the manager .

Davvero un hotel vergognoso !!!
