“Lovely!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 26, 2007

Just returned from a 5 day trip at the Pavilion. This is most luxurious hotel on Lamai beach !!

We stayed in the Superior Spa Room with a king sized bed, complete with two daybeds and a jacuzzi on the balcony. Two bottles of drinking water were provided daily and we received a basket of fresh fruits on arrival.

Service was excellent by Thai standards; the staff were eager to please, organised many tours for us such as elephant trekking, safari tours with quad-bikes, mountain biking, snorkeling trips, sunset tours, etc. My only complaint would be that they are quite slow in cleaning the rooms! Often we returned to our room in the afternoon and the room was still not cleaned.

As for breakfast, a wide variety of food was available, including thai noodles/rice, chinese congee, indian pancakes, english breakfast, etc. The only restaurant there, the Patio, serves good Thai food as well. Room service arrived promptly.

The pool was lovely, but a little too small and more suitable for kids than for adults. We tried the Spa there as well, it was a bit costly (about 65 USD for a 2 hour thai yoga massage) compared to the spas located near the hotel , but the spas nearby are not as clean and luxurious as the Pavilion. We also received a few of 20% discount coupons on spa treatments upon arrival, which was nice.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel!!

PAVILLION BOUTIQUE RESORT, KOH SAMUI, THAILAND
DATE: 28TH NOVEMBER 2007
REVIEWER: MEMBER MELB, AUSTRALIA
We just got married on this beautiful resort. It is absolutely gorgeous. When we arrived on the island from Bangkok driving through on the way it is very poor as most islands are. Once we got to the resort, it was like stepping out into a whole new world. Breathtaking. The surroundings, the buildings the beach stunning. The staff are so friendly and cater to your every need. Although many don't speak a lot of english, they try. The restaurant has both Italian and Thai influence. The food is beautiful, especially the bbq seafood night on Sat. The entertainment is not bad, although when you are there for over a week in can get boring. Our wedding was organized by the resort and was magnificant. To have a dream beach wedding and nothing to worry about, was the best. No stress, they did everything, the flowers, the documentation, the photographer, hair-stylist and make-up artist. A cake, champagne, dinner and entertainment. Fireworks, and of course the beach right there. The rooms are clean and maintained well. We stayed in a pool villa which is the best as the main pool closes at 6.30pm, so you could swim in your own pool for as long as you like. The only complaint I would have is the walls are too thin for my liking. I like total peace and quiet . The day spa beautiful and affordable and they organize day trips. Shops so close by and everything you need right there and open till late. Truly a beautiful experience and can't wait to go back. Very affordable for the luxury of this resort.

We found this resort to be great.Having always done thailand "on the cheap" we splashed out a bit on our return from a 8 week trip through europe to stay at this hotel. On arrival we were greeted by porters running down the front stairs to grab our luggage and cool drinks and ice cold refresher towels at reception. Upon check in we were informed we were being upgraded to a junior suite (we suspect because it was very quiet in samui compared to previous times we had been there) The room was absolutely fantastic. It was more like our own villa than just a room. The toilet and shower were huge as was the bed .it had a LCD TV with cable as well as a great clock/radio sound system which you could play your ipod through. The real highlight was our own personal plunge pool with spa with a day bed as well. The plunge pool was a real bonus especially as the hotel pools and beach water was just to warm to be refreshing in my view whereas the plunge pool was nice and cool.the only problem was our air conditioner ICED UP twice but to there credit they fixed it immediatly both times. We found the staff couldnt help you enough...Breakfast was very good and was in a open aired bungalow type setting in a slightly elevated position looking out over the beach. The resort is a 5 min walk up to the center of lamai beach where all the mainbars/restaurants are and it is no trouble getting to chaweng beach if needed anytime of day in a communal type utility taxi.cost is about 50bart per head.We didnt eat in retaurant at hotel so cannot comment on that .Girlfriend went to the hotels day spa and was more impressed by other places outside the hotel AND for a cheaper price. We would happily go back to the pavillion we had a great time there, but in saying that we have never stayed at a boutique hotel in thailand so have nothing really to compare it with.

We are from NZ, and stayed at the Pavilion in October 2007 for 7 nights, and didnt want to leave! The people were so friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is fantastic. The menu at the restaurant for evening meals is extensive and covers a large range of food types. It is close to restaurants, shopping and markets. Not too far from Chaweng if you are after a busier night life.

The beach is lovely, the pool is average, but the sea water is so beautiful that didnt really use the pool. We were upgraded to a junior spa room which we were wrapt with - had an outside day bed and a plunge pool. The Spa prices are pretty high, we visited the local massage places in Lamai or on the beach which were great.

A really lovely place to totally relax and do nothing if you want to!

We will definitely return and are looking at booking our wedding there!

The resort as a whole is nice, but the Superior Spa Room is terrible - it is misrepresented on the hotel's website and is entirely overrated. The room is nothing like the photo on the webite and is dated and shabby. The TV is a tiny old style TV in the corner of the room next to the bed which you can bearly see and there is no bathroom - only a shower in the corner of the room and toilet room in another corner. The bed looks onto a bathroom mirror and sink. Extremely disappointing!

We stayed at Pavilion in oct 2007, excellent hospitability, room and food. People are nice , they help you in arranging for trips that you may want to make.

Room was very good , breakfast was elaborate. During dinner they have thai cultural shows which is nice to watch
Hotel has sort of private beach , which is too close to the resturant. Beach water is clear and warm.
Worth a stay .
I would recommend this hotel good for families and people who want little private space and relax
