Our friend in Lamai sent us to Bikini Bar the first day we arrived, he promised they would have good food, cheap drinks and chairs with umbrellas. He didn't disappoint. That's exactly what we got.
The reason I only gave it 3 stars is because it's dirty and run down, broken chairs, stained table cloths, the bathrooms are scary and there was no toilet paper. The staff are nice and sort of attentive in a friendly casual way but they sit on the tables when they are not serving customers, kinda gross...maybe because the chairs are broken? Oh and there's a funky funky smell as you walk in.
Coconut seafood curry (250B) - was thick and creamy and to die for, my favorite.
Pad Thai (150B) - delicious, one of the top 10 we had in Lamai and we tried many.
BBQ Shrimp (500B) - very bland wasn't worth the trouble to peel them for that little taste.
Jerk Chicken (250B) - Terrible. Dry and just when you think it can't get worst the taste of old poultry hits your pallet.
Spicy Papaya Salad (100B)- Not bad.
Spring rolls (80B) - tasty but nothing to write home about. We couldn't understand if they were vegetable pork or chicken, not a great sign when you can't figure it out.
Seafood noodle salad (120B) - bland and slimy.
Overall, I would go back for the coconut seafood curry, the chair with the umbrella and the beer. In a weird way you do start feeling comfortable there and it's one of those place you go back to when you don't know where to go.
