“The best food on Samui!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 7, 2013

Being a panaeng lover I rate this as the number one restaurant if the ones I tried on Samui. The food is freshly cooked and the flavor is perfect every time. The papaya salad is fresh with distinct flavors, and the panaeng had both me, my wife and our kids in Thai food heaven. Skip the so called fine dining options - they are most often horrible cooks - and eat here instead. The price is low, but even if it would be five times higher, it would still be the best option for good food on Samui.

“Thai food doesn't get any better than Imchai!))”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 1, 2013

During our stay in Koh Samui we've been to about 10 different restaurants and Imchai is by far the best one on the island. The food here is simply delicious and the prices are unbelievably cheap. And of course the owner and her daughter are very nice and open people who are always happy to see you and do their best for you to enjoy the food and the atmosphere of the place. All of these factors just make you want to come back to Imchai again and again and thats exactly what we'll do next time we go to Koh Samui.

“Real Thai food at good prices”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 21, 2013

We went along here whilst we were in Koh Samui as we liked what we read on Tripadvisor. So much so that I'm happy to report I agree with most of the comments here. This is a quaint little roadside stop where the food is authentic and the prices brilliant. The lady who serves the table doesn't speak much English but it adds to the feel of the place. They completely forgot one of our dishes and left us with just one bowl of curry on the table for far too long, (with no plates to eat it off). Somehow it didn't matter and when she realised she was mortified and took great pains to apologise. When the order arrived in full, it was worth waiting for. One of the best green curry's we've eaten and some great Tom Yum (although I prefer it hotter personally) + Fish in thai sauce & some Pad Thai. All very freshly cooked and all for under £10 (including beers).
If you want to try this place it isn't in Lamai main centre, it's on the right well before the turning off the main road for the beach. Value for money here is excellent and it makes a change from the restaurants in the main beach areas which have sacrificed their charm.

“Good honest Thai food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 16, 2013

An authentic outdoor family set up. Hand written menus and basic in appearance but fantastic food cooked in front of you. We asked for it spicy (pronounced pet in Thai) and we were not disappointed. We enjoyed the Panang curry, green curry and Pad Thai - all delicious. This with 2 drinks each and rice came to 380 baht. Well worth a taxi ride. Tip generously, the prices are so cheap they deserve a little extra for the friendly service and quality of the food.

“Pure Thai delightful cuisine!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 8, 2013

Oh wow! We heard about this place on a review for buddy resort. It's only a 2 min walk turning right out of the entrance. It's not going to be everyone's cup of tea, as its a wooden mish mash of small huts and tents. But PLEASE give it a go! We had an amazing meal there in, what felt like, our own little hut. Complete with a sleeping cat next to me!

Thai chick green curry, crab with curry paste, 2 portions of rice, a mango juice and large singha beer. 330 baht. Or about £7! The portion was big and the flavours epic! And the staff were so friendly!

Put aside your western worries and eat here! Food was fresh, tasty, and clean! We didn't get I'll at all in Thailand!

Enjoy!
