We took the 5 course fixed menu. The food was excellent, especially the tuna tartar and the foie gras. The cost is definitely higher than your average samui restaurant, but so is the quality of the food and the ingredients.
My only reservation was that the place was virtually deserted other than us and the staff, but this may be different during high season

A beautiful 5 star resort with amazing views, great food and impeccable service. The upper end of the Islands offerings, with an extensive A la Carte menu with European, Asian and "fusion" dishes available. extensive but slightly pricy wine list but if you are celebrating a special occasion or even life its self then Rocky's is a must.

Enjoyed our 5 course prix fixed dinner. We ate at a different fine dining restaurant on the island each night of our five night stay and Rocky's stands up to the competition. Definitely experience if you are a Rocky's resort guest.

Came here via trip advisor reviews, expecting amazing cuisine. Arrived on buffet night which had good entertainment but the food and atmosphere let the evening down.

The buffet was well stocked with a variety of dishes. The starters were plentiful and had several veggie options but dishes were infrequently replaced - satay skewers were dried out under a heating lamp and at busy periods of the evening some dishes ran out.

Mains were plentiful, duck, chicken, beef, pork, fish and shell fish and one veggie main from memory. Most were cold when I ate them, none were the best Thai food I had ever eaten, taking nothing away from my girlfriend, she's made much better Thai food with UK ingredients. As you'd expect from a buffet, less care and attention is made to an individual dish - its mass produced and not to order. The fragrance I'd expect from Thai cuisine was sadly lacking and the rice was drying out.

The deserts were interesting but none live in the memory as stand out

The cost was excessive for a buffet, the alcohol was reasonably to expensively priced and the bottled water was extortionate.

The setting was beautiful but all class was lost by the hordes of queuers who doddered, picked, poked and pushed the food removing any semblance of presentation.

There are better eateries nearby where the Thai culinary experience is far superior.

We turned up here as we were passing and had read about it in Lonley planet and trip advisor. There was a sign for a restaurant and one for bistro. Since we were dressed very casually and the place looked pretty smart we opted for the bistro, which I think was where we intended to get to? It was still pretty posh looking but no one batted an eyelid at our shorts and sandals. We didn't investigate the restaurant but perhaps it was for hotel guests?

It turned out to be buffet night with live Thai music and dancing. The place felt magical with lanterns and candles everywhere. The feel of a saga holiday knocked off any romance though. Not that I have a problem with mixing with an older crowd - it was just all rather formal and organised and full of people who have 'made it' in life. As a result felt like we could have been home rather than getting a genuine Thai experience.

So we decided to have the buffet (though were offered a la carte) and the food was nice, though not spectacular. Certainly lots of options but some was cold, and people lining up with plates gave it bit of a school dinners feel.

The service was efficient and polite but not very personal.

I could have put up with that and enjoyed it all for a decent price, however with 2 cocktails (about £6 each) a bottle of water and the 2 buffets it totalled about £80. Although we figured it would be fairly pricy, this was was unjustifiable for the quality of food provided. In fact I don't think any food in Thailand is justifiable at that price!!

We found the food at Kob Thai to be much better value in a much more relaxed environment.

It was a pleasant evening but I think we will have more fun tasting things in the markets, and for sure at a much better price.
