Most lovely place

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Jun 10, 2019via mobile
We came across the Beluga by accident whilst out swimming in the sea today. We saw the most comfiest of chairs and decided to have a drink, at which point Pom introduced herself and we had a lovely discussion. We immediately fell in love with the place and Pom was kind enough to show us the rooms in the hotel, all I can say is that we were both blown away by how beautiful the rooms were! They are built into the rock face and the hotel have made a feature from this which is very impressive. We are staying in Bangak in other side of island but left today considering switching hotels. All I would say is that if you are looking at this and considering booking, please do as you will not be disappointed with a beautiful hotel, with excellent location and such friendly staff :-)

We stayed here for just three nights and we wish we’d have booked for longer! The hotel is nestled between two bays and right next to the Lamai viewpoint. It has a beautiful view out over the sea and easy access to the water and the beach. We borrowed snorkelling masks and enjoyed swimming around the rocks right off the hotel. The hotel itself is immaculately kept. Everything is spotless from the communal areas and pool to the rooms. The rooms are a good size, provide premium toiletries and thick fluffy towels. There is a great bar and food menu and happy hour twice each day (which we took full advantage of - the daiquiris are particularly good). Breakfast was super with a selection of fruit, breads and pastries and eggs. All of the staff at the resort were friendly, helpful and always smiling. WiFi was excellent throughout, too, which hasn’t always been the case in our travels through Thailand. We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and would love to return in the future.

We stayed at Beluga for 21 nights in March 2019. It is absolutely perfect little hotel in a beautiful setting, 14 rooms in total makes it a quiet peaceful hideaway, we aware greeted by Pom the manageress with a beautiful smile and a friendly welcoming atmosphere. After a cooling sorbet we were taken to our rooms where our luggage had already been taken and it was perfect, we had a 2nd floor room and it was lovely, lots of space for our things and a big comfy bed, spotlessly clean, bathrobes and slippers provided too. Every room has an ocean view which is amazing, it's located on the end of Lamai beach with a short walk ( took us 10 mins) into the center, all the staff work very hard to make your stay wonderful and nothing is too much trouble, rooms cleaned daily by the lovely housekeepers. Breakfast is mouthwatering, fresh bread, crossiants, cake from local French bakery, fresh fruits, eggs and bacon or Thai porridge if you ask for that, tea/ coffee and fresh juices is more than enough to fill you up. The lunch/dinner menu is available throughout the day and I've never had such delicious food in a hotel, they have snorkels available if you want swim in the ocean and big fluffy towels are provided, the pool is lovely to cool down in too. I would highly recommend this immaculate friendly hotel to anyone who wants to completely unwind and relax. All the staff are amazing and do their job extremely well, Thankyou to Pom, Ed, Saw-saw, nila, saw for being lovely people and making our holiday one well never forget.

We stayed at the Beluga Hotel on the 14th of March for a 10 night stay to celebrate our wedding anniversary and my wife's birthday. We were greeted by Pom the Manageress and her staff with a cold towel and a refreshing drink. We were shown to our room 1A which was the room built into the rocks, it had everything in it that we needed and was spotlessly clean. After we had unpacked we went for a walk around the local area were we found the Grandfather and Grandmother Rocks and a small selection of local market stalls and local shops and supermarkets we also found a money exchange bureau at the end of the road which gave a very good rate.
We had dinner at the hotel on the first night which was absolutely amazing the quality and standard of the food was outstanding.
The breakfast was more than enough with plenty of fresh coffee and fruit juice and a choice of breads and eggs cooked to your choice. We also had a special Birthday/Anniversary breakfast which i would recommend.
The pool area and beach was looked after by Nai which he kept spotlessly clean and was always around to move your beds and parasols and get you anything you needed.
The Hotel is location is very good it takes 10 minute's in a taxi to get to Lamai centre where you can find a very good selection of restaurants and shops and the street market on a sunday night from 6pm, you can also walk along the beach to the centre which takes about 20 mins.
We could not fault the hotel or the wonderful staff who were always there to help, everyone from SawSaw, Neela, Sun, Nai, Chefs and the Cleaners who always had a smile on their faces, and would like to say special thanks to Pom and Ed for all their help in making this a special holiday.

The location is stunning, right by the water with open water in the distance. It’s a smaller hotel with only 14 rooms so the setting is more intimate and quiet which was really nice. The staff were really wonderful but we were not impressed by the Manager Pom. My boyfriend got food poisoning after eating the Fresh Salad Rolls and was room bound for the next 2 days. I told Pom what had happened and she totally disregarded the fact that it could have been from her hotel. Considering the price we paid to stay here, it would have been courteous to have been offered at least extra water free of charge but she actually avoided us for the next couple days yet made a point to talk to every other couple/ visitor around us. As we were packing up to leave, I realized we did not have our declaration sheet for the airport which you need to leave the country. I asked her if she had it and she said she “found it on the table we were sitting at” which wasn’t true because it was in our passports when we gave them to her upon arrival so she was just making up an excuse. I should mention that when you order anything from the menu, they charge you 10% service charge and a 7% gratuity fee (which we didn’t mind because we are used to paying that back at home) but when we checked out she charged us an additional 10% service charge on the total food bill which didn’t make sense at all because we already payed that on each bill. And the bill she gave us did not show the extra 10% charge so it was “off the books”. Because of how she handled all of these situations it really affected our stay negatively and we will not be returning.
