We spent our honeymoon at Dinky Rock for 13 blissful nights. From arrival with mint choc chip ice cream to departure, we were looked after exteremely well. The location is perfect with breath taking views & the pink sunbeds and towels add the perfect touch.
The rooms are immaculate and the bathrooms are built into the rock giving each one its individual charm. The rooms are right by the infinity pool with blacked out glass. So you can see out but no one can see in. The bed was so comfy, I slept better than I do at home!
Not wanting to leave our mini paradise we decided most evenings to dine at the hotel. The food is beautiful, and I recommend the blue crab dumplings and the fresh tuna club sandwich - absolutely divine!
In an afternoon the iced dakiris go down really well, I recommend the Lychee! Perfect refreshment after a mornings sunbathing.
A short walk takes you to local shops & amazing views from Grandfather rock. If you can tear yourself away from the hotel, a walk to see sunset at the rock is not to be missed.
They also sell their own Dinky Rock spa products, which smell good enough to eat.
The hotel staff cannot do enough for you & really go over and above to make your stay a memorable one. In particular Pom Pom, To and Saw made our stay very special.
We will definitely be back to stay again.

We stayed at Dinky for 5 nights, omg the resort is really beautiful. On arrival the lugguage is left at the back gate on a hill till the owner meets you, it is such a surprise walking down and seeing this beautiful resort looking over the sea, we were greeted with ice-cream, not any ice-cream delicious home made, and then taken to our room. Our room was a little smaller then i expected, but nicely appointed with even a Ipod coffee machine, bathroom was amazing, but best of all the views of the sea amazing even from the bed and blockout windows great! A lovely mineral swimming pool whith beautiful appointed loungers, and there little beach, all looking over the sea.
It is such a relaxing place, the bar serving great cocktails, delicious meals at good prices, specially love their breakfast, which changes every morning. Excellent service from all staff specially Pompom she makes everyone feel special. You can walk along the beach to shops etc for exercise, and dont forget you a right next to Grandfather Rock. We will definitely be back to this amazing place.

Room Tip: Room 8B upstairs sea-view

It was a pleasure to stay at the DInky Rock from 31th of Dec to 04th of December. Lucky Ballons provided by the very friendly hotel staff in the New Year eve night were a wonderful start into 2013. The Resort is a beautiful place in the south of the Lamai Beach, stylish and clean if you search a realxing place but nice people from all over the world to meet at the bar at night. Drinks, Food, Rooms, Pool, Location at all - we would definitley recommend it and come back :-)

Room Tip: all rooms are good as it is only a 14 room facility

We've just stayed at Dinky for five nights and for once the reviews of this place are spot on - service is excellent, it feels exclusive and all their special touches make it a special place to stay.
Drinks may be more expensive than elsewhere but, trust me, their cocktails are worth it and still very cheap compared to UK - lot of happy hours to take advantage of.
A special thanks to Pompom - she makes everyone at Dinky feel special.
Beautiful pool, lots of loungers (no having to run to put your towel out!), fantastic food, lovely atmosphere.
Not much in the immediate area to do but hire a mo-ped, grab a taxi and see the rest of this lovely island.

Arrived for 5 night stay to find no power on the island (Never happened before according to the locals)) and hotel had no generator. However looked after exceptionally well and transferred by hotel owner in the evening after relaxing days at the Dinky for 2 nights to another hotel in Central Lamai which had a generator. The hotel itself is the last hotel at the south end of Lamai beach. Excellent snorkelling and swimming from the beach and rocks round to the Grandfather and Grandmother rocks. Food and service was excellent and breakfast with fresh fruit and 'real' French baguette and croissants and a variety of fruit was first class.Good Thai cooking for dinner and fantastic tuna-best I have ever had. Rooms are fresh and clean with unique bathrooms-ours was built into the rock, and lovely small infinity pool-with as advertised no kids. Made for a very relaxing and quiet stay before moving onto Bangkok

Upon arrival at Dinky Rock we were greeted by Roman and Pong Pong, the manager and hostess of the establishment. This was followed by a glass of ice cold water, ice cream and a cold towel! I mentioned to my partner that a cigarette would be great, and after checking in, a box of cigarettes and a lighter were provided, without even asking!!
The room was very modern with its own iPod facility and Nespresso coffee machine.
The service was very personalized and warm!
The food was AMAZING.
When we inquired about yoga, the manager personally took us to a studio down the road.
Also on departure we were running late and the staff also personally hopped on their own bike and rode to the nearest taxi stand to organize us a taxi.
We stayed 10 days, and it was nearly not enough!! what an amazing experience complimented by great customer service and a boutique hotel experience.

First of all... WOW. This is an exclusive hotel, with few rooms and amazing location at the end of the Lamai beach. Nice rooms (but small), and amazing breakfast! The best breakfast I had on this vacation. Fresh juice, fresh fruit, homemade jelly and fresh, french pastries. The hotel staff is so friendly, and the hotel management is available and at the hotel every day. They help you with everything you ask for, and go out of their way to help you. Nice little pool you can go bathing in whenever you want. The hotel is kid-free zone, and it was so nice to get away from kids screaming and yelling at other hotels. Total relaxation :-) I recommend this hotel! One of our best memories from our vacation.

Room Tip: If you go for a room on the ground floor, you'll get big rocks in the bathroom! So cool! "...
