Quaint resort hotel with charming garden all around and a really welcoming staff with a bright smile and ready to help attitude. Close to Lamai Beach and walking street and shopping on a budget at Tesco Lotus, this property is really meant for leisure and relaxation. We saw a office conference going on at this property during our stay and I think they sure must have been feeling out of place on such a quaint property ment for relaxation. Wonder what discussion they would have been holding...If you find the food expensive you have a beautiful kitchen outside the property for budget eaters. Overall this place is worth its money.

Room Tip: all rooms are nice on this quaint property, but if you are not on budget than ask for the rooms with...

Dear kittu14,

Quaint and charming are perfect words to describe our boutique resort and it is good to know that these qualities combined with the service provided by our team resulted in a relaxing stay.

Situated on the eastern end of Lamai beach, the resort is just minutes from the center of Lamai town or even about 15-20 minutes if walking via the beachside during low tide. As such, there are indeed lots of restaurants and shopping not too far away as mentioned, in addition to various local options along the way.

Therefore, we are pleased that you found the overall experience to be good value for money and hope that you will return for another holiday soon!

Sincerely,
Tina

Arrival
Bad design of entrance, it was very narrow and I was forced to drive in to drop the luggage closer to the service zone to ease the luggage service and I drove back to the parking space of the hotel then repeated the same narrow route back of the offices on foot under strong sun. All of this was advised by a security guard from outsource who consulted one o the staff members in the office near the entrance. That security guard with outsource uniform gave the luggage ticket, placed unattended near lobby steps. -- What a first impression.

Accommodation
The photo of pool access suite on its own website is very misleading. The room itself does not direct access to the pool. The room is not hidden behind the tree. This is a zone of many room share a common space of terrace in front of the room and one small pool. You can look in to other suite so easily.

The wifi does not support the link from iPhone and iPad. Luckily the IT manager is fast and willing to help.

Most of the villa except 7 units has got 4 walls view. It is considered waste to me when travel to seafront property. Luckily that the whole plan to Samui is not for here.

Dining:
My room package of two nights stay has got dinner included. My dinner reservation was made upon check in but restaurant staff said no reservation. The seating was not escorted but I was advised to go up and sit at the first table. I went up and sat and stared to settled down, another staff came to ask to move as they count differently. The first table a saw when I reached the second floor is not the first table they counted.

The above is not five star service per their own rated.

The cocktails were served when they were half melted. The first course of one dish basic appetizer was served after half an hour seating and main course in the set (not any special order) was served when one and a half hour passed. Food presentation same as taste - ugly. One of service staff felt sorry and said sorry to us (The manager of the restaurant who previously introduced himself still stood back of the counter)

At breakfast, I was welcomed by a supervisor and that was only one smile and one time during breakfast. Breakfast has got many selection but quality is so so or almost cheap.

Pool service is none. Fresh towels were placed on benches. Used towels were not removed when guested leaves. It is hard to guess whether the seats are available or occupied. It is very Hard to gain attention from service staff in most of the time. Water is chargeable by poolside. Unsafe glasses are used at pool. Different type of people were all around as place is congested and not much option for me to go and enjoy the sea view or swim. Be careful, they have happy hour of buy one get one free during 4-6 at poolside but not all order is included. Pineapple juice costs almost the same as Piña Colada does not in the promotion but Piña Colada is. It shows either level of understanding beverage service business or cheating game behind.

The main view at seafront is man made plastic ramp. Tables chairs and furniture on the ramps are very bad display during the whole day presenting ugly view. They are placed in order for evening service hour only.

The property is not well maintained. Things look old and placed not in ordered.

Almost all the time I'm here I think whether I should leave before the plan and just forget the prepaid money. Luckily a car was rented during this trip. Not so much time spent in the resort. No need to consider about plan to be back.

The entrance of the hotel was a little difficult to find as we drove from the airport. Upon arriving we were greeted by the friendly bellboy. The main lobby was beautiful, the hotel service was excellent. Room was perfect, our bed was decorated with flowers as the knew that we are celebrating our anniversary. This was in the email which I had sent them prior to our arrival.

Breakfast wasn't that great and not much of a choice & he Gym was a little small.

Overall it was a wonderful experience. Checkout the night market which is nearby the hotel, it was a wonderful experience not to be missed.

Absolutely amazing resort. Such attentive and helpful staff especially Luke and Botan, they really make you feel at home. I never want to leave. Fresh food and spectacular drinks with a jaw dropping ocean view, such a great way to start the day. I wish the wifi was better. I had no reception in my room or on my balcony which made it difficult to work. I will definitely suggest Le Meridien to friends and family and I can't wait to return.

Great that you met both Luke and Botan during your stay and found them to be helpful and attentive.

While we are pleased that you enjoyed the resort in general, we do apologize for the internet reception and recognize that this is indeed an important service to have working well. While I'm not sure if our IT Support was called to assist, we will certainly monitor and try to make general improvements throughout.

From the moment we stepped into our ocean front villa we knew we were in for a relaxing vacation ready to be pampered. The villa is spacious and well appointed with many areas to lounge. The decor is Thai inspired with beautiful dark woods and the landscaping is mature and gorgeous.

The outdoor daybed was a great place to lounge in the morning while having coffee or to get relief from the sun during the day. To catch some rays there is a great big lounge chair for two on the opposite side of the daybed. The pool was clean, great size and private from the world. There is a perfect sized shrub separating the villa from the beach. To get relief from the heat there is an 'outdoor' living room which closes up and has great air conditioning. We honestly didn't use this room at all, but the option of course is always nice.

The bedroom is comfortable and spacious. The bed is extremely comfortable and the air conditioning works very well. We both slept great!! There are no words to describe the view we woke up to every morning. Waking up to the birds chirping, looking at the infinity pool spilling over into the gulf of Thailand was a taste of heaven.

Overall the bathroom was great. The only complaint we had about the villa was the lack of air conditioning in the bathroom. Since it is an 'outdoor' shower it is exposed to the climate which at times is extremely humid. So stepping out of the shower into an air conditioned room would have been nice but it certainly wasn't a deal breaker and was something different we eventually enjoyed. With that being said the shower wasn't completely outdoor, it was mostly indoor and a screen protected the shower from any bugs outside. The bathtub was completely outdoors, still private however, and could fit four people easily. It wasn't very practical so we didn't use it, but it was nice to look at and added to the ambiance of the villa.

At the risk of sounding cheesy, the releasing of the lanterns every night at 19:19 was magical. We only participated twice but it was a great way to kick off the night.

The service was top notch. Everything to the pick up from the airport, to the check-in, to breakfast service, to housekeeping was spot on. The language is obviously a barrier as we don't speak Thai, but the staff was very willing to understand and respond to every request or inquiry. We didn't meet Tina until the last day as we never really left our villa, but she was gracious, full of knowledge and was very pleasant to speak with.

Transportation to Chaweng is a piece of cake. If the hotel doesn't have a shuttle running to Chaweng when needed, we found it easy to walk out to the main street and hop in a shuttle/truck to Chaweng for extremely cheap.

Overall, we loved loved loved our villa and the boutique feeling of the resort and would have no problem returning there in the future. Well done Tina and team!!

Room Tip: Gotta book the ocean front villa! No questions!

Dear TrvlrRob,

I can understand why you were able to give such a fantastic description of our Ocean Front Pool Villa seeing that you mentioned you rarely left the room! Good that you snuck out for a bit though so that I could say hello.

Waking up to see the 25sqm infinity pool running in to the horizon of the Gulf of Thailand right from the bed can indeed be breathtaking and we're glad that you loved that and nearly all aspects of the room. We're also happy to learn that the team took good care of you and that you felt relaxed in the boutique feel and design of resort and its landscaping. The Celebration of The Day ceremony each evening at 19:19 is a highlight for many guests indeed so there was absolutely no risk in sharing that you enjoyed it!

May I help you with some Thai for your next trip which will hopefully be back here with us once again: Khob Kun Mak Kha Laew Phob Kan Mai Na Kha (Thank you very much and see you again)!

Sincerely,
Tina
