The people on this Restaurants are very nice people they always smile and they serve the food fast and quick.
It is quiet funny they don't have much of a western food and i love it so much because i did not have my holiday in Thailand just to eat Burgers or French fries...the one i love most about this restaurant it is not expensive the food is really served hot and the taste is superb no like compared to others.
So , go to Sabinglae restaurant it is really good on your budget along the Ring road is where you can find it.

I've been going to this restaurant ever since it was an easy-to-miss roadside eatery (before the tour buses, the neat sign, and the aquariums on the right of the walkway). The food here is the best in Samui and specialises in seafood.

The deep fried fish comes butterflied and flash fried, with excellent curries and sauces. King prawn in tamarind is flavourful and firm to the bite. And try the catfish salad, which isn't really a salad, but a lightly breaded catfish dish served with a side of fish sauce. This is excellent Thai seafood.

But take this restaurant for what it is and avoid:
- ordering anything not seafood; it isn't the specialty here
- ordering anything that isn't Thai
- asking for a non spicy version of a dish: clams in spicy sauce is bland with the spice removed.

And patience, as many of the Thai staff don't speak English very well (a sign of a good local restaurant)

Been coming to thailand for 15 years, and now been living here for one. After asking a good friend for his best dining recommendation in Lamai, we went to Sabeinglae. Expecting something nice and intimate on the beach, I was very sursprised with the cheap dining hall setup, worst possible lighting and absolutely zero atmosphere. Our table reservation was the only good news for the evening.

Red wine straight out of the freezer, white wine at room temperature. Dishes thrown at us, service was apalling. Oysters the size of your hand, not fresh, tasteless. Shrimp tempura, were baby shrimp stuffed in greasy donuts, sent back. Crab salad wasn't fresh, sent back. I kept my fried scallops and I don't know why, they were clearly frozen and pure rubber. I was mostly embarrassed for my date, and didn't want to send back every dish. She had the steamed crab, and thank goodness they managed to do that right.

Pricey. NEVER AGAIN.

Having lived on Koh Samui for many months, I was told Sabieng Lay was a popular choice with the locals. It is usually filled with locals, which I hoped was a good sign. I have eaten here many times and although the food and service is usually good and well priced, I have had the occasional problem. After eating here I have often felt bloated and thirsty, which is usually a sign of too much MSG. I have tried many times to ask about the use of MSG but have not been able to find out. Beautiful view on a wooden deck facing the beach. Worth a visit or two.

Went to Sabeinglae for early dinner despite reading the mixed reviews. Should've stuck to my instincts and gave it a miss. Ordered the dishes people recommended- the prawns in tamarind, crab fried rice, the signature salad and the chicken green curry. The prawns were tasteless and not worth the price. The crab fried rice was the best dish of the night, but it was extremely average. The green chicken curry was spicy (good) but it was not fragrant enough, and the chicken was extremely tough and dry. The salad was so-so. I would definitely not recommend if you're looking for great tasting Thai food, but if you want to sit amongst the locals and feel like one, sure! go for it, otherwise don't bother! As for the service- didn't find it bad, they were actually quite nice- but it could be because we went at around 6 and it was more than half empty.
