“Great location, Okay food”
Reviewed February 29, 2012

The food was good, but the location was better. Right on the beach, you can get a table with your feet in the sand.

The prices are reasonable, and the service is nice enough. It's not the best restaurant in the world, but if you want to dine on the beach in Lamai, it's a good choice.

One thing to note is that you will probably get bit by mosquitoes, as with any open-air restaurant.

“"Cocktails"”
Reviewed August 21, 2011

I did eat here one night, and the food was fine. The reason for this review is to point out that The Black Pearl, which is situated on the southern end of Lamai beach, is the only place we found that serves 100 Baht cocktails till closing time - 10pm. There are 60 cocktails on the menu, including the ingredients, so you know what you are ordering, and they are good. Most other places on the beach charge roughly double this, so if you like to sip on a cocktail, or 3, and watch the sunset, and your wallet, this is the place to do it. I'll have a B-52, thanks.

“Good food, great atmosphere, good service on a lovely beach”
Reviewed February 24, 2011

I have eaten here about 5 times. The food is decent. Not amazing, but good. The service is good, and attentive. The location right on a lovely beach, near the south end of Lamai beach is great. Definitely worth a visit. This place is a little gem. The staff are friendly and helpful. Priced comparably to other beach spots, the food may be a tad better, and the location is really worth it. Visit this spot. The only thing missing is a dedicated non-smoking area. Like nearly all Samui restaurants, they make no effort to enforce the no-smoking rule in effect throughout the country.
