If you're looking for a quiet, stylish, modern and spotlessly clean place with fantastic service, then don't look any further and check in at Amarina Residence. Amarina and her staff are so friendly and will go the extra mile to help you. The rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean and the whole place has got a very calm and relaxing atmosphere, which is great on busy Lamai beach. We stayed for 6 nights and really enjoyed it and we can definitely recommend this hotel as very good value for money.

A lovely, calm, well-maintained hotel. It's between the main drag and the beach (the front door's on the main strip). Great prices, very good value for what you get. I was upgraded to the biggest room, which was lovely and quiet. I'd probably have preferred the balcony room but no big deal. The amount of english spoken on reception is variable, but they're very helpful and will figure out what you want.

Airport pickup was free, but they charged 5000BHT for the return trip (which is fair).

If you want a sunlounger on the beach then just walk down to one of the beach bars.

The hotel "pool" is in the reception area, so I don't know if anyone's ever actually used it!

Wifi connection is pretty good, there are a couple of PCs that you can use free anytime, and they'll let you use their printer for free (within reason).

This hotel is very well located. 1 minute walk to the beach and 1 minute walk to shops and restaurants. The rooms are clean and well maintained, new furniture.
Very friendly staff.

Stayed for 4 nights and really liked the hotel and the owners.

If you like lamai beach then this is a good option - whilst we liked the hotel we really didn't like lamai very much at all. There are far too many crappy shops and horrible go-go bars. In other places in Thailand this sort of thing is usually confined to specific areas of a resort town, but in lamai it seemed to be everywhere - too many fat old western men with their PYT's for our liking!

If you do stay in lamai, we found the best way to avoid the sleazy side of it was to eat in the bars and restaurants on the beach rather than the ones on the main road.

Stayed at the Amarina for 4 nights over New Year.
We wanted to do Koh Samui accommodation on a bit of a budget, before splasing out a bit more in Ko Phangan for a later stage of the trip.

I booked the Amarina directly with the owner via their website, after searching Lamai Beach accommodation reviews on Trip Advisor.
Thank goodness for Trip Advisor, otherwise I wouldn't have stumbled across it!

The photos on the webiste looked great. A boutique style hotel, a few yards from the beach, and also right where the shops and restaurants are.
Perfect combination.

Most importantly, the photos lived up to the reality.
A lot of effort has gone into creating a clean and calm hotel, with good facilities and nice little touches, considering the very reasonable prices.

We stayed in the Amarina Room, classed as the top of the range accommodation.
I think this is based on sq-metre floor space (very good size room), with bigger bathroom, and tucked away so good for privacy.
Although I cant fault the room, I think with hindsight I would choose a balcony room next time, for a bit more natural light and because I'm nosey and like to look out the window.

We felt a little bit left out because unlike in some if the other rooms, our cleaning lady didnt craft our towels into swans or other wildlife scenes, but maybe she wasn't as artistic as her colleagues.

My wife and I are from Manchester in the UK. We intially booked for 2 days over the internet with a view that we were going to try 3 or 4 different Hotels in Koh Sam. We found the quality of the the building and bedrooms to be 4 star and the staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Just ak for the impossible and you will see the reaction you get. If you are travelling to Koh Samui there is only one place to stay just give Amarina Residence a try and you will be pleasntly suprised. Amarin and Tang just keep up the hard work you have a fantastic business and you are very customer focussed. Best Regards Gerald Spence Manchester England

Stayed here for 7 nights and absolutly fantastic! I was picked up from the airport and taken to the hotel and made to feel very welcome upon my arrival. The rooms are really well kept and facilities available are perfect (aircon, balcony, tv, minibar). If you want breakfast, the owner has a setup with a small cafe down the road called Will Wait, where i went for breakfast each day. The cafe was lovely aswell, great food, friendly staff, lovely birds, fish and cats surround you as you eat in the morning sunshine. The hotel is around 50m to the beach (and probably the best part of the beach aswell). Thanks again Amarina!
