We used to come to this place in early 2011, and it was fabulous! However the general chic of the restaurant is slowly wearing out. Food has become worse since then. The red color of the sofas, chairs and flags looks faded, the menus also show signs of use.
The food is still EXPENSIVE. We ordered hummus with pita bread, pizza margherita and Thai fried rice with shrimp.
To start with ... the hummus had a distinct taste of fungus and was non-eatable. I informed the manager about this and this dish was cancelled from my bill (thanks for being responsive!)
Pizza was OK. Fried rice tasted worse than in an average Thai street food shop. For these two dish and an orange juice we paid 790 Baht, I'd better eaten somewhere in Lamai instead.
Overall - not recommended.

Thank you for visiting Beach Republic and thank you for taking the time to leave your reply here. As far as the beach chairs, of course there is some fading in the tropical sun and the covers are changed regularly. Your experience with the cuisine is not at all the norm and I would like to personally apologize. I do hope that you return again and give us another chance to show you the very high standards that we strive for.

We went there for dinner, firstly it was so dark with all the dim lighting I couldn't read my menu they had to bring me a torch!! The bread was stale!! The main course was ok and drinks were good but again overpriced!! The service was really good though. No wow factor has potential but the food needs improvement and turn the damn lights on!!!

Thank you for visiting Beach Republic and for taking the time to leave a review here. I'm glad that you felt the service was very good. We put a lot of time and effort into training and it is always nice when this is recognized. We offer a beautiful experience where guests enjoy dining under the stars looking out over the ocean at the lights of the various fishing boats. The lights in the beach club have been kept low on purpose so as to compliment the atmosphere. Torches are provided to assist in reading the menu. The prices are quite reasonable and are on par with other top tier properties across Koh Samui. In many cases we are less expensive than other well known restaurants on the island. Thank you again for taking the time to leave your comments here. We look forward to welcoming you back to Beach Republic soon.

We went to the beach club on the last day of our honeymoon and loved it.

You have to pay 1000 THB each, however this acts likes a voucher system to claim food/drinks etc back off from. A really good system compared to other beach clubs I've been too where you get charged for the sunbed with no return for your money.

Food/drink
Very good quality - great tapas

Sun area
Gorgeous - the double sunbeds are meant for residents only but if they aren't busy they will let you use them - very comfortable

Overall
The whole place has been styled in a modern/funky style. We went in low season but normally they have DJs on during the day and on Sunday there is a brunch season with buffet food and wine for 4 hours for 1400 THB each which would have been nice to go too.

I liked it so much I'd consider staying there in the the grounds
