“magnificent honeymoon in Silavadee”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 1, 2009

we spent one lovely week in Silavadee Pool Spa Resort.
The first good impression was freindly staff and very beutyfull territory of hotel: big swimming pool with wonderful ocean veiw, well-attended lawns and lanes.
the food was good. The restraunt has the terrase with ocean view. Very lovely...
This hotel is the perfect one for honeymoon, for silent vocation. it is a little bit far from Lamai and Chaeweng but there is a shuttle bus service several times per day, so it is very comfortable for the clients.
free wi fi, library.
I'llreccomemnd this hotel for my freinds and of cause will come back.

Our stay at Silvadee was great. We were welcomed at Samui in such a special way. What a fantantastic views! We loved the fact that there was a jacuzzi on our balcony. That was really a plus. It was difficult to chooce between hanging around the infinity pool or at the private beach given that both locations were fantastic. We will definately be back!

I stayed at Silavadee Pool Spa Resort in september 2009 with a friend and I would definently consider going back to this resort if I were to visit Samui again! The rooms are beautifull, clean and comfortable to stay in. Good value for money as well. The one thing that also really stands out is the pool area due to the breattaking view from the top of the hill where the pool is placed.

We had a really great time at Silavadee and the staff also made it comfortable. They helped us whenever we had any enquieries. The location is a bit secluded from eg. Chaweng city centre, so you need to get a taxi (10-15min) or hire a bike. But it is worth it! Highly recommendable:-)

WOW…I can’t possibly say enough about the Silavadee Resort. My wife and I went to Samui for our anniversary; we started at a well known Samui resort, won’t say their name, but it was one of the worst stays we’ve ever had. We luckily found the Silavadee and completely fell in love with the place…we immediately canceled our remaining hotel reservations and moved into one of the sea view villas, and Silavadee saved our vacation!! They have a great and helpful staff, friendly management, best Thai food we had in Samui (thanks Teddy), and some of the most amazing views on the island. The hotel is secluded and quite, but close enough to all the action…though we found it difficult to leave the villa. Great room service and your own private endless pool overlooking the most beautifully blue sea is almost too Zen like to leave!!

Words cannot describe this exceptional resort. I am a seasoned traveler with expensive taste and Silavadee truly blew me away. The decor is very minimalistic, which may seem off-putting at first if you are accustomed to the lush gardens and colorful palettes that dominate most of the island of Koh Samui. But you will soon learn to appreciate the simplicity of the beauty around you, the clean lines and elegant touches.

The theme is "back to nature" and you certainly feel it all around you. The reception area is open air, perched on a cliff-side with a breathtaking view of the deep blue Samui waters. The walkway from reception into the resort is accented by a lovely water wall, beautifully lit at night and surrounded by plant-life.

You'll find each villa is tucked behind carefully maintained vegetation, and with floor-to-ceiling windows dominating 3 sides of each room you will certainly feel as if you are enclosed in your own private jungle. The villas each feature a private infinity pool, surrounded by trees for maximum privacy with views that must be seen to be believed.

We are told the sunrise is worth watching from your private deck, though frankly we never rose early enough to see one because the bed is unbelievably comfortable (very uncommon for the region, even in the poshest hotels). I slept like a baby the entire time and hated to leave!

The food all around was absolutely wonderful. Truthfully we only ate in the restaurant a few times because the room service was so utterly excellent and our rooms were so inviting we didn't want to leave. The single biggest standout of the food and beverage services would have to be the bar. Any frequent traveler knows how difficult it is to get a proper cocktail abroad. The bar staff at Silavadee is absolutely top shelf. Truthfully it was the only place I visited on the island on this particular trip where I didn't have to send a single drink back for modifications. Presentation as well as taste gets 5 stars from me!

It's difficult to choose a single feature about this incredible resort, but if there were no other stand-outs (and there are plenty), the staff alone is reason enough to stay there. You will find no shortage of beautifully appointed resorts in Thailand, but you would be hard pressed to find one as lovely as Silavadee with a staff as friendly, responsive, accommodating and welcoming as theirs. The people really do make the difference. At Silavadee you will feel instantly welcome and entirely at home from the moment you arrive. The staff will greet you by name, remember every special request you make, respond in moments whenever you have a request and thoroughly customize your unforgettable experience.

It has been 3.5 years since I last visited Samui, which is one of my favorite places in the world. After my stay with Silavadee, I look forward to returning sooner than later.

My husband and I stayed here for our 1-year wedding anniversary and felt like we were living in a dream. It was an unforgettable experience for both of us, and the most relaxed we have ever felt on a holiday. Silavadee has a special zen vibe that transcends from the breathtaking views and the surroundings, all to way to the immaculate back-to-nature decor and the attentive staff. There was no request that was too much trouble for them, and they were happy to accommodate us no matter what we asked for. My husband arranged a romantic private dinner on the beach and their execution was nothing short of brilliant. The resident manager is a lot of fun, yet directs the resort with exquisite skill, delivering superior service to any other place on Samui. They not only have an amazing staff, but also have some of the best food on the entire island. We will definitely be back for another slice of paradise, and would not consider staying anywhere else. Bravo!

We recently returned from a one week stay at Silavadee, staying at both the standard balcony room and the ocean pool villa. We had a good time there relaxing, swimming and reading (just what the doc ordered). Silavadee was peaceful and comfortable, but just not special enough in terms of service or warmth for us to want to return to in the future.

Pros: rooms and villas are very comfy and in sleek minimalist style. the beach/cove right by the hotel is generally only used by hotel guests and is picture postcard perfect - exactly what we wanted rather than the big and busy Lamai or Chaeweng beaches. Breakfast is of a good standard too!

Cons: service was generally not slick (front desk and room service) and requests often had to be repeated. i found some contact lens paraphenalia left behind by, I assume, previous guests, which hadn't been cleared away (though villa did seem otherwise clean!). some small touches would have improved the feel of the resort - e.g. the resort should consider appointing a staff member to clean the loungers on the beach after a guest has used it, rather than leave it to guests to move other guests' towels and wipe down the loungers. the water in the main swimming pool was murky - don't know if that's deliberate (though did see the staff fixing the pool for one reason or another). our ocean pool villa had only a view of the roofs of other villas (you have to splash out even more for the villas in the front, in which case I'd rather spend similar amounts of $ at a resort with better service e.g. sala samui). Strange arrangements for taxis as well - I had to bargain with the front desk to arrange for a cheaper taxi rather than the "fixed fee" arrangement they seem to have agreed with their preferred taxi drivers.

I think most of the "cons" can be easily fixed with better training for staff and some small touches which would make the resort feel more luxurious. But we did get a relatively good rate there and the beach is so beautiful, so overall, there are no regrets!
