My family and I returned to the hotel again this year and there are a number of things which concern us. One thing we had liked about the hotel was the piano playing in the evenings but this has been stopped and the upstairs bar closed. The basement bar is dark and depressing and judging from the number of people present in the room the local dancers and Abba style band on are not want the clientele require. Why could the new manager not have retained the charm which many of the repeat visitors young and old returned to the hotel for.

Room Tip: All the rooms are very good and this hotel does offer family suites which are ideal for most familie...

Great place. We stayed for 1 week and everything was great. The staff were very helpful and someone is always available. Breakfast is great and make sure you go early and find a place on the balcony for amazing views.
Take a lift down to the seafront and find another swimming pool, lie back and look back up to where you were just moments ago!!
Food was ot amazing but still good and there are so many restaurants around that its not a problem.
Our room was great although not the best view but pay more and you will get a better view!
The cave restaurant provides a personal dining experience which is romantic and thrilling!
Very quiet and not much action though and so very much a place to unwind and lay back. For the more active day trips to whae watching, hiking and cycling can be organised easily!!

Overall a very good experience....

Room Tip: Rooms with sea view are worht the extra!!

Thank you for your kind comment, we are delighted you had a nice stay at Hotel Jardín Tecina. We are glad you enjoy a menu at the Cave for two, our natural cave equipped to become the ideal place to enjoy three delicious menus with the sound of the waves in the background, spectacular views over the bay of Playa de Santiago and a banana plantation at the foot of it. We hope to see you back to our little paradise soon.

Simple perfect, quite, clean and nice, good food and service. But it may be unconfortable for older people because of the stairs. Anyway our experience was fabuolous.

Room Tip: Visit Garajonay National Park is awesome. Also if you play golf, the golf course is prety good.

We have stayed at the Jardin Tecina for 9 days and unfortunately I can only say we have mixed feelings at best.

We arrived on our scheduled transfer but had to wait more than 3 hours for our room to be ready. The superior room was spacious and really did have an excellent view of the ocean. I liked the fact that the rooms are designed like an old Spanish village. The bathrooms all around the hotel premises were in perfect order, all clean and well maintained. The pools are well equipped with staff preset around the clock, but the paint in the pools themselves kept peeling off in copious amounts which made them look very old and worn out. You couldn’t get out without getting your hands white and sticky!

The breakfast was mediocre. Not bad, but really nothing special. The waiters were really inconsistent with their service level, sometime forgetting this, sometimes that. The dinner was better but expensive if it’s not included in your stay. Better to eat in one of the many restaurants and bars on the island where they have fresh and really cheap food and drinks.

What really annoyed us was the hotel staff. Although really friendly and polite when everything is going smoothly, they were several big issues with their behavior:
On several occasions, someone tried to go in our room for whatever purpose with very brief or even no knocking on the door. If we were not dressed, we had to scream: “Stop!” My advice is to keep the “Do not disturb!” sign on the door all the time if you are in the room.
One time, we came back from sightseeing only to find our room door open! Fortunately, none of our stuff was missing since crime really is almost nonexistent on Gomera.
There is a really nice feature where you can check your bill on the room TV set. It was really useful since other people’s expenses popped up on our bill every now and then. I had to check it every day and complain to the reception desk to void the expenses we did not make.
Once, our used towels were taken away, but only half of them replaced.
Also, when ever there is some kind of a problem, the staff’s foreign language skills drop dramatically as they try to avoid an awkward discussion.

All in all, great view and great weather, but the hotel is really starting to show its age. There were just too many little mistakes and incidents to ignore. The whole concept is stuck in the 80’s and it really needs to move on.

Room Tip: A superior room is a must for the sea view!

We would like to thank you for taking the time and effort to share your experience. We deeply regret that your expectations were not completely met and we hope that you keep a good memory of your overall holiday. We do have the most spectacular views of the ocean and Tenerife coast and we are very happy that you enjoyed it. Once again, thank you for your comments, it helps us to improve.

We have just returned from a lovely relaxing week here. The hotel has a fabulous location and the room and grounds was of a very high standard.
We were slightly disappointed in the buffet style dinner. The fish was often over cooked which was a shame. The staff seemed rushed all the time and the al a carte at the Laurel was very disappointing.
We went for some sun and time to relax and that is just what we got in a perfect setting and we never had trouble with getting a sunbed.
The journey could have been made easier if Fred Olsen provided a shuttle bus from the ferry to the hotel . As we booked independently we were clobbered by expensive taxi fares to and from the ferry port which undid the good deal I thought I had got.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for a sea view. Most of the balconys are quite private.

The Tecina Hotel really is a beautiful hotel! It is indeed very quiet with nice people (only a few people who still reserved their sunbeds in the morning, spoiling the fun for other guests).

Nice and friendly staff.

The hotelrooms are two-storey. We had a front ocean view comfort room on the second floor. The view is incredibly beautiful. The rooms on the second floor are much better, I wonder why the hotel does not ask a higher rent for the upper rooms, so a guest can really choose a room on the second floor.

Food is great. The breakfast is outstanding. The main restaurant for dinner is very good, do not bother to go to the other restaurants, the principale is the best. Go and have dinner at 7 pm when the restaurant opens, you will see people running for the tabels outside, giving a breathtaking view on the ocean. This is really fun to watch!

The island La Gomera is very very beautiful. Rent a car at the hotel and go explore! The island is very green with beautiful top gear driving roads. Amazing views!

The weather on the south side of the island, where the hotel is, is normaly good and sunny. Clouds form at the top of the island with some rain on the north and top of the island where you can enjoy the green national park.

You must know you will have to travel a lot to arrive at the hotel (and for returning home). The Fred Olsen ferry goes only twice a day. You will have to grap a taxi at the hotel at 6 am to be on time in the harbour for the 7:30 ferry to catch your plane at Tenerife. The hotel offers a small breakfast from 5:15 am (thanks a lot!).

So if you want a quiet, nice, sunny holliday and you are not affraid to travel a lot to get there, the Tecina Hotel is your place to stay!

Room Tip: book a comfort room and ask politely for a room on the second floor.

Wonderful hotel, incredible view, nice staff, but the restaurants could need some improvement. I suppose the guests are quite used to gourmet standard, but the hotel doesn't reach this level, unfortuneately. The best way to find very good, local food is the village nearby. The restaurant on the lower level, near the sea tries - but not hard enough. This is a marked, and I would gladly pay a bit extra for it!
Another thing is the fee you have to pay for using the safe in the room. I have never experienced this before, and I don't undestand the reason.
