One of the best 3 star hotels i've stayed at anywhere!! (i'm a travel agent so i'm lucky in that i get to travel often!)

lovely hotel located around a 10 minute walk along the coast to Skopelos town.

Pool area is fine, although it looks small on the pictures we never struggled to get a sun bed and the drinks by the pool weren't any more expensive than what you pay in town.

The rooms were nicely decorated and the beds were comfy, we had a sea view room and the view from the balcony over to the port and town was gorgeous. the hotel was exceptionally clean and maintained very well so there was no signs of any work needed for improvements.

The hotel exceeded all of my expectations as i know generally the standard of hotels in Greece is a little lower than other med destinations but this wasn't, it was higher. I have already recommended it to several of my work colleagues to try in the future or to pass on to future customers looking for a holiday in Skopelos/Greece

Thanks for a great time!!!

Room tip: best views are sea view rooms, garden rooms over look each other

This is a lovely hotel, situated in a perfect location. We had a taxi waiting for us when we got off the ferry but it was only a minutes journey by car and a 10 minutes walk.

For a three star Greek hotel I didn't have great expectations but was very pleasantly surprised. Reception was very welcoming and the room was lovely, with a sea view as I had requested. There was plenty of storage space in the room but you would need to be 8ft tall to reach the top cupboards! Everything was neat and clean.

The breakfast was served in a lovely dining room and also on the terrace and there were always enough tables. The food was very good.

The pool area was good. It wasn't large but there were always enough sun beds and surprisingly, no towels at dawn! There is a pool bar serving lunches and excellent service.

Although there was bar in the reception area, it was never open as such, although it was possible to have drinks served in the evening if you asked. It would have been nice for the bar to look as if it was open and I'm sure more people would have used it when they came back at night.

The public rooms were charmingly furnished and everywhere was spotless. Had the weather been bad, it would have been very pleasant to sit inside the hotel.

As the hotel was only a 10 minute walk into the town, it was very easy to go and have a meal at night although there were other restaurants on the sea front en route to town so you really didn't have to venture far at all if you didn't want to.

Room tip: Sea front rooms are lovely but the block at the back overlooks a pretty courtyard.

We stayed at the Aeolos in the first two weeks of june, with our daughter and partner.
We received a very warm welcome ,from the manager and reception.
Our Room was 201 with fantastic views, and really comfortable.
In the morning we had breakfast with a very good range of different foods available as well as the ham cheese cakes, there was, eggs, bacon, saus, toms, and cerial, and a good selection of different bread and rolls,so much choice to start your day.
The Hotel manager and staff are really very nice and helpful, which was a godsend.
My wife had a accident while out and about, she hurt her ankle, after visiting the medical center,we got back and the hotel where there to help my wife back to her room, they told us if we needed anything just to ask.
This made us feel a whole lot better,my wife new she had the hotel and staff there for her if she needed it.just Brilliant.
Another person we should mention is vasiliki who ran the pool bar,Funny,Helpful, with loads of energy, who makes the best cocktails, specially my wife"s favourite cosmopoliton,a good girl.
The staff in the kitchen and dining area where also brilliant and friendly.
We had a great time despite my wife"s injury.
This hotel as a very warm friendly feeling and we will return.
Thankyou Aeolos
YOU ARE ALL STARS.

My wife & I have just had a 2-week stay at the Aeolos Hotel, & couldn't be more pleased with our choice.

First of all, we travelled with Thomas Cook, arriving from Bristol into Skiathos where we had a fairly short (2-hours or so) wait for a ferry across. It was a nice chance to sit & have a spot of lunch & a beer, overlooking the harbour. Alternatively, you could leave your luggage at a cafe & go for a wander around the town. We were lucky & our crossing was on a "Dolphin" which was very fast - it only took 40 minutes (I think other ferries take a bit longer), & the crew helped us on & off with our luggage. The local rep was waiting for us at the other end & whisked us to the hotel in a minibus. From leaving Skiathos to arriving at the hotel took an hour - it was seemless!

The hotel: Our room was quite small but perfectly adequate & had plenty of storage. There is a small fridge, a safety deposit box (for which there is a small charge), & a TV with only a few channels, none of which are English language (not a loss as we're not here to watch TV!). There is no kettle (as is typical on the Continent) so if you like a cuppa take your own, as we did. We were delighted to be given a sea-facing room & it was lovely to have a cup of tea in the mornings sitting on the balcony gazing over the amazing view of the sea, harbour & Skopelos town. We found it too hot to sit out there in the afternoons & evenings until the sun went down - a sun canopy would have made it more bearable, but I'm certainly not complaining about too much sun! As well as a small table & 2 chairs on the balcony there is an expandable towel rack which came in very handy (& also prevented people from draping unsightly towels, swimming costumes etc over the balcony). Other rooms have a view overlooking a courtyard, which is very pretty, & in the shade, but we wouldn't have swapped anything for the stunning view we had. There is wifi (for a very small charge), but although it was pretty good in the reception area & even around the pool, it was patchy (at best) in our room which was a bit frustrating but I think this could be an island issue, not unique to the hotel. That said, I would rather have not been charged for something I couldn't use a lot of the time, or even pay more for something I could.

Breakfast was very good indeed. There was a good variety, with slight variations each day. There was cold meats, cheeses, fresh tomatoes, eggs, breads, cakes, pastries, local pies, yogurts, fruit & a few hot choices. Bearing in mind this is a 3-star hotel we were extremely impressed.

The swimming pool was quite small but more than adequate, with plenty of sun beds. There was also a small pool-side bar, open from 11am-9pm, from where you can order drinks and also snacks (salads, sandwiches, pasta, burgers). The food was simple but freshly made, very good & extremely reasonably priced (we had originally planned to buy simple ingredients to make our own lunches but decided it wouldn't have been any cheaper). They will even deliver it to your room if you fancy a night in. They do play music around the pool which at first we found a bit loud & disturbing but when I mentioned it was a bit loud they turned it down & in fact for the rest of the stay the music was quite relaxing.

One of the things that stood out was the cleanliness of the hotel - everywhere was absolutely immaculate. Our towels were changed daily and sheets changed every 2 or 3 days. Also, all staff were very friendly & helpful and nothing was too much trouble - they readily responded to any requests & always had a friendly greeting for us. A special shout-out to Vasalliki who served at the poolside ba real character!

The centre of Skopelos Town is a leisurely 10 minute walk, with plenty of bars & restaurants to choose from. We found the location of the hotel ideal as it was far enough to be away from the hustle & bustle, (such as it is - it's not a clubby resort by any means) but not too far. In fact, we decided we'd rather the 10 minute flat walk to the hotel, than be closer in & have a steep climb, given the heat! It also meant we discovered delightful places like Swell (a bar/cafe) and Muses (restaurant),which we might not otherwise have done.

Just a quick note regarding car hire. Dolphin travel, the local rep, recommended Motor Center as they have a deal with them. Nevertheless, we shopped around for quotes at all the usual big name places but we still found Motor Center to not only be the cheapest but by far the friendliest & most professional outfit we came across - they even deliver your car to the hotel & pick it up the morning after your car hire period ends, so I would recommend them. We enjoyed exploring the island & the roads are generally fine, if a tad steep in places & quite a few hairpin bends made it interesting! (I would recommend an automatic if you can drive one, it made life a lot easier.) That said, car hire is not essential as there are very good bus services to all the beaches each day.

Overall, we think the Aeolos is a very special place which has got nearly everything absolutely spot-on (certainly considering it's a 3-star) and we wouldn't consider staying anywhere else in this price-range in Skopelos. We will be back!

Second time we have stayed at this hotel and will be booking again for 2017. Marina and her team look after you well. Good breakfast choice, comfortable rooms and pool area. We upgraded to a suite and was well worth the additional cost. If you want a comfortable, friendly and we'll run hotel this is a good choice. Recommend Muses taverna near hotel as fantastic restaurant. Lynn andMark
